Very clean and nice accommodation. Location excellent.

The third bedroom was only accessible via the second bedroom. Would not be a problem for a family with children but could be if there were more than two.couples staying

Location and style

Only 1 bed made up. No recycling facilities and rubbish bin has no lid. Cleaner entered house without any notice (and without reason)

Location was excellent for access to Whitstable town centre and beach.

There was only one bathroom/toilet, which was downstairs through the kitchen. Steep, narrow stairs to top floor bedrooms. Toilet paper and dishwasher tablets were not provided.

The location was excellent. The cottage was well set up with everything you could need, and has a very comfortable, relaxing feel. Parking was also a bonus.

There wasn’t a lot of outside space for sitting but being so close to all Whitstable had to offer meant we didn’t miss that too much.

Great location, very well equipped. The kitchen had everything we needed, the shower was fab if a little low for my 6’4” husband. The cottage was larger than we had anticipated and the sitting room was very comfortable.

The beds could do with renewing, both my parents and us suffered with increasingly aching backs as the week wore on. The toilet seat was broken which made life a little difficult and the stairs were very creaky, especially when having to go downstairs to the toilet in the middle of the night. The shutter levers were all broken so each one had to be manually adjusted. The wallpaper was cracked around the windows in our bedroom and it smelt a little of damp in the kitchen. I would say it needed a bit of a refurb and paint job. I didn’t like the fact that we had to strip beds and empty the bins before leaving, it felt like we were doing part of the cleaners job, especially as check out was at 10am and my parents are in their eighties.

Great Central location for Whitstable, comfortable cottage.

Instructions for accessing the parking and keys could have been better, I’d picked up some of the information from reading the reviews, but it needs to state that the parking is at the end of an unmade access road.

bathroom and toilet seat

We had almost everything we needed to feel at home. The place was a bit run down, but still quite cosy and it was all nautical themed.

The difficulty in trying to get to the keys. We were waiting out in bad weather for over 20 minutes trying to get in touch with the property management team and they in turn with the owners to figure out where to locate the keys. No information was provided about this prior to check-in, even after other guests' reviews complaining about the same thing. Only the lock code was provided and when we finally got to it, the lock box itself was quite old and difficult to open. The shower area (inside the bathtub), is quite narrow and has a very low ceiling. So it would not be ideal for anyone over 5 ft 7 inches in height, which none of us were and so we were fine with it. Kitchen items were well worn out, with a lot of mugs chipped, etc., rickety small dining table chairs, faulty bathroom door lock and noisy floorboards near the staircase. Having only one bathroom with toilet for the entire group was a little problematic. Especially with the bedrooms all situated upstairs and the bathroom was downstairs past the dining room and kitchen. But still overall a great stay and brilliant location!

the location was amazing. the size of the property was much bigger than expected. I lived you could park on the back driveway.

a few bits need some attention but certainly wouldn’t prevent me from rebooking we couldn’t get the oven to work, either simple instructions needed or it needs fixing the toilet seat is loose and slips about when in use so the back falls on you. I would have tried to tighten it if there were some tools available but please can that be fixed loads of cobwebs in the bathroom near the window that have been there a while the washing machine door looks a little wonky so we didn’t dare use it

We did have to call Sykes Cottage company to find out where the key box was located, but once we had that information, everything was very easy. We were in Whitstable for a wedding. Location could not of been more perfect. Walking a distance to the beach, the markets, the shops, the restaurants. The off road parking was great, we didn’t need the car at all during our stay. Cosy little cottage, perfect for a chilled girls weekend away. We will be back! Thank you! Xxx

More information re: key box location in the confirmation email. We had the code, we just didn’t know where to find the key box.

Excellent location with parking. Easy to find. Comfortable and well provisioned. Good wifi and quiet bedrooms. Very good value
