Excellent hotel. Great service The room was very spacious, clean, and had the amenities we needed. Breakfast was delicious and with many choices; it was a very wide a la carte spread. The people in the reception were very helpful, not just on checkin and checkout, but also in giving directions to spots. There was cleanliness maintained throughout. The library had good books, and foosball really made our time there fun! The location is great- right at the road. I would recommend to friends, and will definitely stay again if Im back in Kufri"

Breakfast timing should be from 7 or 7:30 am instead of 9am. Breakfast varieties should be more. Credit card / Cash to be accepted. (POS mac. should be available.) If possible pick up & drop facility should be available as local taxi are very expensive.

There were some positive aspects of our stay, such as the friendly staff and comfortable common areas, these positives were overshadowed by many issues that greatly impacted our workation experience

My team recently embarked on a workation at The Hosteller, and unfortunately, our overall experience fell short of our expectations. While there were several issues that impacted our stay, including absurd rules, limited food options, inconveniences in room placement, patchy Wi-Fi, and a lack of compensation for a missed day due to unforeseen circumstances. One of the most frustrating aspects of our stay was the absurd rule surrounding the use of the pool table. It was only available during limited time windows, which greatly restricted our ability to relax and unwind during our free time. This unnecessary limitation on such a basic amenity left us feeling disappointed and unable to fully enjoy our downtime. The breakfast options provided as part of the breakfast-included package were also underwhelming. The limited choices and small portion sizes failed to satisfy our hunger and left us wanting more. It would have been beneficial if The Hosteller offered a wider variety of options and more generous portions to adequately fuel us for the day ahead. Furthermore, the room placements on different floors proved to be highly inconvenient for our team. Since we were working closely together, having our accommodations separated hindered our ability to collaborate effectively. It would have been more practical and conducive to our workation experience if our rooms were located in close proximity to one another. The patchy Wi-Fi connectivity was another significant setback for our team. Unfortunately, the inconsistent Wi-Fi service interrupted our workflow and made it challenging to accomplish our tasks efficiently. Adding to our disappointment was the lack of flexibility or compensation for a missed day. Due to an unfortunate accident en route to The Hosteller, we were delayed and arrived a day later than planned. Despite circumstances being beyond our control, they did not offer any form of return or credit for the missed day, leaving us feeling disregarded as guests.

Staff is not good

The staff was very courteous, approachable, helpful. The view from the room was amazing. The manager Ritu brings in a lot of warmth to the place. The kitchen member Gaurav prepared great food. Had a great warm stay. :)

People are allowed to drink alcohol in the roof top and even the staff in the cafe were allowing them to drink alcohol there even providing them with the empty glasses to distribute alcohol among the friends. This is despite alcohol not being allowed in the hostel. People then become really drunk and rowdy making it difficult for people to sleep. My friend and I had to tell them to keep quiet and 2 am in the morning on two consecutive nights. If you want to sleep and relax then avoid this hostel!!!!!. It's such a shame as its a really good hostel with good facilities. The no quiet period is not being enforced at all, but if you are after a hostel with no rules, alcohol allowed l then this is the place for you.

The location was pretty nice. And the rooms and overall hostel was very clean. The reception staff was polite and cooperative.

Cafe: I had taken a breakfast included plan and after serving me 1 parantha, they told me that only 1 is included i need to pay for more, which has never happened to me anywhere in the world where i have taken breakfast included plans. The dinner was tasteless and overly expensive as compared to hostel rates. I had ordered a thali which included raita and first they didn't gave me anything and after asking twice, they gave me 2 spoons of plain curd. Overall: It was a saturday and some arrangements for entertainment like music and bonfire should have been there but nothing.

Absolutely FANTASTIC view for the room with the balcony. However, the dorms which are in the back don't have a good view and are quite dark. The hostel itself is really nice with an amazing terrace and cafe. Hostel staff is also good and helpful. Rooms are new, well maintained and very comfortable. The location of the hostel is right on the main road, so you can get local bus and other transport directly. They also have a smart TV in the room, so you can watch netflix and other things directly in the TV. There are a couple of restaurants and general stores nearby where you can get stuff to eat. We stayed here for 7 days and worked from our room and the terrace and had a very nice experience overall. Would definitely recommend.

The bathroom ventilation seems to be connected somewhere, and we often got cigarette smell in the bathroom because someone in nearby bathroom was smoking. The Wifi is really fast when it works, but it did drop out sometimes. The pricing for the rooms drastically changes according to availability. Luckily, we got the rooms at a very good price, but when we checked the price after we were there, the prices were almost 3 times for what we paid for the room.

The team working at the reception is excellent, friendly, ready to assist. Young guys with intelligence and customer friendly.

The booking department bossy woman was absolutely rude, unfair, ignorant in communication with me. Beds in dorms are short and with boards on both sides of their bunk beds you can't stretch yourself comfortably if you are taller than 185cm. I happen to be 191cm. So I spent 1 sleepless night (I booked 2 nights) at the dorm and decided I cannot stay more so requested cancelation or free upgrade of the room so I could sleep stretching myself and relaxing. The reception team was happy to upgrade the room for free as the hotel and hostel were empty and they saw my point and my suffering. But the reservation department didn't approve this and so I had to leave, moving to the neighboring homestay for the same rate that I lost in this booking, 800 rupees. But for this money now I have a king size bed, mountain view, and a private room. While at the dorm you dont have windows, bunk bed is small. The designers also didn't install even 1 cloth hook in the room, and as there is no wardrobe either you have to drop your jacket, jeans and everything on the floor. Which is amazing considering the bunk beds have huge boards and it's so easy to install or attach some hooks to these boards. The room is gloomy. No window to outside, only to the corridors. The check in is done by youself through internet, there are 25 questions you have to answer, most of them are about collecting your data and interests for selling it to marketing databases or just made out of desire to make you obey as you can't skip any of these silly questions about your personality. There are countless stickers on the walls everywhere demanding this and that from you in command style. Most of them are ordering you to wear a mask. There is not 1 word like please. The order of the meals is also done throght their site only and I tried it. While i was filling the cart the price of meals was presented discounted but at checkout all discounts dissapeared and the cost was about 30% higher.

The staff was super Friendly, the receptionist guided me through my journey from Shimla. The view from Terrace and common area windows was damn amazing 😍 When I arrived there were green valley and mountains but as I woke up everything was covered with ❄️ snow.
