I love how quiet and peaceful broadkill beach is. We enjoyed our short get away over the last few days! House was as advertised. A couple little things needed cleaned prior to unpacking but overall a great experience! Thanks for sharing your house with us!

We first rented this property during covid and found the seclusion perfect to avoid covid. Now we continue to come for the privacy and seclusion. The beach is a short walk over the dune across from the house so we go often, even for just a short sunrise walk with the pup. Most of our time at the house is spent on the screened in porch sipping drinks, reading, watching the marsh birds and sunsets (all while avoiding mosquitos!). The kitchen has everyhing we need. This year we experienced tropical storm Ophelia during our stay which was exciting. Sorta like being in a carwash for two days. The house stood her ground and Im sure the leaks discovered will be fixed before the next deluge. The kitchen and bathrooms are very clean but, we used the downstairs suite for the first time this trip and, once again, my son and his wife felt the need to wash the comforter and mattress pad. Our pup loves the house and loves being on the beach!

Our first trip to Broadkill Beach and it won’t be our last!! So convenient to the beach and we loved the privacy! Bedrooms on 3 different floors worked well for us. Owner very responsive to any questions we had. Our 3-year old grandson said this morning as we were leaving “Can we all come back to this house next year?”!! That says it all!!

Very clean, nice views, short walk to the beach.

It was smooth sailing all the way, from check in and throughout our entire stay. The neighborhood was quiet with lots of access to water. It was almost like having the beach to ourselves and the kids loved it! Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us.

Good location and very quiet with easy beach access.

Don’t be expecting a fancy place but it was comfortable and perfect for our family. Lots of books and games and nice big kitchen table for the family to eat and play games.

The 3 levels of this house provided plenty of space and privacy for each family unit. My husband and I loved the screened back porch for morning coffee and bird songs. Our granddaughter loved the spiral stairs! Beautiful, quiet beach and calm water.

We loved the house everything was clean, the kitchen was well stocked,any issues that arose were addressed immediately and everything was taken care quickly would definitely recommend this house!!!

We like this property because of its isolation and access to the beach and marsh. Sunrises on the front deck and sunsets on the back porch are gorgeous. Great pkace for birds as well! There are empty lots on either side and across the street from this house which creates the isolation we enjoy. We did alot of cooking inside and outside, Kitchen is well equipped. Being able to just walk across the street to the beach any time of day is so convenient. The beach is never crowded. The house, beach and "town" are all pet friendly. The only problem we have ever had is with cleanliness of the bedding. A couple times we have had to wash a mattress cover and comforter before we could use them. Perhaps cleaning of bedclothes should be done by the cleaning company after each use, especially because it is a pet friendly house. This will not stop us from renting this lovely house in this lovely setting in this lovely town.

Very quiet and peaceful trip. The house was was pleasant and clean. Lots of games and books for all ages. Communication with the owners was easy and got very prompt responses. Even though we decided against bringing out dog, it is a pet friendly property with some dog crates available for use. Thank you.

The only thing I would change was the weather. It was too cold and windy to go to the beach. We have stayed in plenty of houses on the beach or a block away over the years. This was the best one yet. The house was clean with plenty of light. The master suite was a little bit difficult for me to get to. We teased the kids by saying the bonus room was their bedroom. The two of them stayed down in the basement unit to watch TV AND play with PlayStation5 that we brought with us. Napping happened frequently over the 4 days. The kitchen and eating area were the perfect size for the 4 of us and our dog who loved being on the beach no matter the weather. The kitchen offered any gadget or pan you might need. What a luxury to have a garbage disposal at the beach. We can’t wait to go back.

Perfect house for two couples. The separate masters were ideal. Great location for peace and quiet while being 15 minutes to great restaurants.

Best things: Kitchen is roomy and stocked with everything (not edible) that we needed for group meals, with a gorgeous high-top table large enough for eight. Lots of outdoor space. Easy access to the beach and to the river. Excellent wi-fi! Key caveats: there are only three bathrooms + an outdoor shower. The ground floor room has a separate entrance, which could be great for privacy but meant that the person down there had to go outside (not so fun in winter) and run upstairs to join us or access the kitchen. Plan to bring: towels, bath mats, sheets (1 twin, 2 queen, 2 king), hand soap, dishwasher detergent, kitchen towels, etc. You can find extra bedspread/light comforters in the two rooms with king beds. If you don't have sheets, you can rent them from the housekeeper, who is terrific. Our experience: I was here with 4 friends for a writing retreat. The common area was too small for 5 people, so we spilled over to the kitchen table. The furniture was not really designed for all-day writing but is fine for a beach getaway. We'd love to stay here again in late autumn or early spring.

Family - ranging from age 10 to 72 - had a beautiful Thanksgiving week in this gorgeous spot, what an ideal location - right across the road from the Bay/beach, with the river/wildlife refuge in the back. My son loved the dock and even caught a few fish. House was warm and cozy. Amazing views from the master bedroom (though some might find the spiral staircase a bit tricky - my dog did!) and the grandparents loved having the ground floor suite to them selves (it was easy to get upstairs to the rest of the house via well-lit and partially covered back steps). The house is showing a bit of wear and tear but overall wonderful. The owners were very responsive to questions.

I traveled there for a long weekend with the family. We are 6 adults ,2 teenagers, and 2 small dogs. The home was pleasant and well appointed. I esp loved the decks that overlook the bay on the one side and the marsh on the other. It was lovely to be in nature. We had bonfires on the beach at night. The only down side was the burrs that we got on us and the dogs . I would suggest a boardwalk for the renters to get to the beach as an improvement.

We loved the house for the simplicity of what it offered...we felt safe and comfortable, right by the ocean on one side and the river on the other, it was beautiful! On the other hand, some things to consider: - Master bedroom's bathroom does NOT have a useable shower/tub for adults (over 4 feet tall) due to its weird placement. Can only be used as a tub for children. Was not shown in photos. Resorted to other two showers. Same goes for "extra twin bed in Master bedroom." - Some spiders and bugs, but nothing unexpected given the area. Be prepared. - Towels count as linens so must bring your own towels - Also, most of the beds are hard and slightly uncomfortable but manageable for couple nights. - None of the light switches are placed intuitively and you must search for them in most of the rooms. Other than that, the place is great and would recommend overall!

We had a great week at this property. It was dog friendly, very convenient and had lots of nice extras.

We enjoyed staying on the property. The owners always responded quickly to our questions. We enjoyed the beach and marsh view from the house.

The property fit our needs nicely. The owner was easy to contact and quite agreeable. The only downside is that whoever is responsible for cleaning the house prior to guests check-in is not thoroughly cleaning the place.

Three family vacation rental. Spacious. Extra storage. Perfect amenities. Beach is quiet and serene. Kids loved crabbing off back dock. Pet friendly. Close to neighboring tourism. Mark is a great host!

Nice property.

Pros: The property was nice, and suitable for our group. It was well stocked with necessary supplies. We loved the wraparound deck with gate to secure our dog and 1 year-old! The quiet community was just what we were looking for. The beach was just across the street, and most days it was like we were on a private beach! We loved that our dog could romp on the beach. We brought our 2 kayaks and a paddleboard which we enjoyed using in the bay. Cons: Sadly, the bugs kept us inside in the evening. (No fault of the property) Not sure if it was timing??? The place could use a deep cleaning. I'm not sure who is responsible for the cleaning between rentals, but we found a pan of greasy bacon in the oven. (In support of the owner, we did not report it) We were unable to launch the kayaks in the back because the water at the dock was too low. Once we realized it was possible to kayak on the bay, we decided it was better there anyway because of fewer biting insects. Lastly, we were disturbed to discover at the end of the week, 2 outside cameras that we were not made aware of. We were more disturbed to find out that one camera was removed after our discovery.

Was a great facility and our family had a great time!

Wonderful visit with our kids and grandchildren. The beach was awesome and we flew kites and built sandcastles on the beach. Lots of beach combing as well! The downstairs unit was perfect for the grandparents and gave us separation of space. Thanks Mark & Jeanne!

Very nice house! Great location. My family loved the beach across the street. Some flies, but almost no mosquitoes

We enjoyed our stay very much but were not clear beforehand that the bottom suite was only accessible by going outside to get in. Other than that, Our only complaint was a strong mothball smell throughout the house during our stay that was irritating for some family members. Overall an enjoyable stay and we would like to go back.

We just returned from a week at this LOVELY home-the location can't be beat, the hosts were super responsive to our questions and the house itself was well stocked and very clean. Terrific!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, especially because of the location. With the nature preserve in the back, wooded areas on both sides, a dead-end street, and the beach access right in front, it was a peaceful location surrounded by nature. We also really enjoyed the back, screened-in porch. The open floor plan was nice for accommodating large groups. The only thing that caught us off-guard is that there is no access to the ground floor suite from inside the house. It is truly a separate living space only accessible by going outside and down the deck stairs. It was workable with our group, but I wanted to give a heads-up about that. It will not stop us returning though because we just absolutely loved the location! Thanks, Mark and Jeanne!

The house is perfectly positioned between the marsh and the bay. This is our second time here, we love the beautiful sunsets and the opportunity for many activities. We experienced unusually summery weather for May and spent a lot of time on the beach which is just a five-minute walk from house to your toes in the water. The house has everything you might need for your vacation. We did a lot of cooking at home but there are many places to go out in Milton Lewes and Rehoboth. We will be back! And we recommend this place for anyone who wants the privacy and seclusion.

We had never visited the Delaware shore before, but after this stay we will surely be back. Broadkill Beach is beautiful. The house is stocked with all you need to enjoy the location, and shopping is only 10-15 minutes away. There is plenty of space for a family. We were 5 plus a dog, and had plenty of room, and each child had their own room. The upstairs bath is really for bathing since the tub is tucked in under a sloping roof. Sunrise over the bay and sunsets over the salt marsh made for great bookends to our days.
