We had a small family reunion at this great house in a charming neighborhood. There was plenty of space both inside and out. The kitchen was well equipped with lots of cookware and dishes. The bath towels were luscious and plenty of beach towels available. There was nice view of the lake from the great deck off the kitchen. The access path to the beach was right next to the driveway. The beach in this area was large with deep fluffy sand but the sunsets …. they were remarkable! Jodi was easy to contact and wonderful to work with. We hope to return again and again.

Jodi provides so much support--a wonderfully equipped kitchen (the coffee drinkers were delighted by the bean grinder); most helpful sand toys; rainbow coverlets, night light, and games that wowed our young granddaughters: and comfy pillows and beds for all of us. The dining and deck tables are large and comfy--creating a space for both wonderful conversations and the rain shower card games--der rigour for MI summers. All the furniture is as wonderful as it appears in the pictures and there have been small but lovely upgrades (especially the shower facility in one bathroom and an outdoor shower for washing off beach sand that has warm water) that contribute to the ambience since the VRBO pics were taken. All of this shows the actions of a welcoming host who wants the experience to be special. Our youngest granddaughter summed it up: "Can't we all just live here, Mommy?" We'd come again in a heart beat! I've stayed in other VRBO properties and this is far and away the best experience. Deep gratitude to you, Jodi!

Great location just a stones-throw from the beach. Jodi was very accommodating and helpful throughout the stay.

We had the perfect vacation. Checking in was seamless and the home was immaculately clean. The kitchen was fully equipped. The view of Lake Michigan was breathtaking. The very short walk to the beach was convenient and relaxing. There was plenty of space in the home and tons to do. We will definitely be looking to go back as soon as possible.

We had such a great time in this home. It was impeccably clean and provided everything needed from linens to toiletries. Jodi was so easy to communicate with and was incredibly accommodating. The location was so great and the view was even better. We will definitely be going back in the future!

We had an amazing time at Jodi's home at Higman Hill. The house is perfectly equipped with everything that you could possibly need including many high end appliances and kitchen equipment. This made breakfasts and dinners in a pleasure. We had plenty of room to spread out and enjoy our spring break. The beach is less than a five minute walk and our temporary neighbors were very friendly. Jodi was extremely responsive to anything that cropped up - like the unexpected power outage that the street suffered one night. You won't go wrong making this your next Lake Michigan vacation spot!

Plenty of space with 5 bedrooms and everyone had their own space and great rooms to gather as a family together! The owner was great with details and was very fast with responding. The neighborhood is awesome and Tom & Marge are the best!! The VIEW is Breathtaking and you want to sit there and stare at the amazing beauty that surrounds you! No doubt one of the best homes we have stayed in! Can't wait to go back again and this time it will be in the summer so we can enjoy the beach! Thank you Jodi for everything!!

We had a wonderful experience staying at this property! My sister and I arrived more than several days before other family members joined to stay the second part of our visit. The six of us had ample room to get our leisure on! During the middle of our stay, the weather got a bit cooler and rainy, but there were sunny days we took advantage of to walk to the beach--a quick 5 minutes or less down nearby stairs that lead to it. While there, we explored the nearby St. Joseph area, even visiting the Saturday Farmer's Market. Everyone enjoyed the comfortable beds. The house was well stocked with ample toiletries, other household supplies, towels and linen, cookware (we cooked a lot!), and other kitchenware. The only thing (for me) missing was an iron. I can't say enough how we all thoroughly enjoyed the scenery, lake breezes, and taking in the morning on the patio with coffee. The neighbor next door was also wonderful. Just a lovely community. Thanks Jodi for all of your hospitality! It was obvious the effort you take to accommodate any needs of those who would be staying at the property.

We made the walk to the beach a few times but did not utilize it for a dedicated beach day (wish we had!). We loved the deck for morning coffee. Jodi was a fantastic host and communicated clearly with us on how to find the house (it could be tricky!). The house decor is so cute as well as numerous bedrooms to choose from. I would like to book again for a family getaway; I think my kids would love it! Highly recommend.

This is a lovely, large property with views of Lake Michigan, and a hostess who couldn't have been more accommodating and welcoming. The house is situated almost on a small bluff overlooking the lake and other properties. To get to the private beach, one descends a long set of stairs and follows a short path. The backyard is very private with several seating areas and a nice patio area for dining. While we were three adults, I imagine this would be a great spot for a family with young children. There is a third floor that is a perfect play area - complete with an air hockey table, small desk for creative activities, some toys and even yoga mats. And with five bedrooms, including a sweet children's room, space abounds. We had to pass on the perfect five-star rating due to a snafu that was really out of the the owner's control -- the kitchen fridge stopped working shortly before we arrived. I'm sure the owner called the repair person asap and he was at the house while we were out exploring the area. A part was needed but, luckily, there was a fridge in the basement and everything worked out. These things happen, and the owner was very apologetic. All in all, a great weekend.

My parents and two kids (7&5) stayed here to get away from the city for a few days. We fell absolutely in love with the property. The kids room was perfect for our two kids and there was plenty of space for the adults to spread out. The beach is just down the hill and is picture perfect - I kept texting friends asking “California or Michigan?” The house had an umbrella and beach toys for us to use and our kids loved them. We will be back!
