The hotel exceeded all our expectations. The staff are not just friendly, but they are also very professional and efficient. The room was spacious and clean, and very quiet at night. The hotel grounds were well maintained. The food was excellent; their buffet dinner was one of the best quality we’ve ever had. We look forward to our next visit!

Amazing experience. Outstanding customer service. Fijians are the friendliest people you could ever meet. The culture, the food and the beauty of the property and Nadi is just perfect! There’s so much to see and do.

It was my 3rd stay at this hotel but the last time i was there was 20 years ago. It hasnt changed very much. More activities and the place is well maintained, clean and safe. I cant say that the rooms have been updated to 5 star standard, however very clean and beds were comfortable. It was worthwhile upgrading to a grand deluxe room as it felt like a studio apartment with a wonderful courtyard like patio area overlooking the ocean/reef. Value for money and great for families. It was hard to get a sunbed at the main pool, but the second pool next to Takali bar was a winner! The lagoon swim is always the best and the water was much warmer than the pool. Food was mostly good, with enough choice but be sure to book for dinner early!

Shangri-la is starting to show its age. Last time we stayed here was in 2019. This time around we stayed in a reef buree which was nice, but in need of a renovation. I won’t be coming back until this place has had a makeover.

Magic location, fantastic staff, great breakfast restaurant meals good at best, improvements to 9 hole golf course very evident, facilities and infrastructure generally showing their age. Shangri-La ( The Fijian) was once the jewel in the crown of tourist accommodation in Fiji. Sadly the toll of time is increasingly evident. There is only so much that refurbishments can achieve.

Holiday with 3 generations (4 children/grandkids 6-10) that was a great time. So easy for kids to be engaged- pool and beach, pool games, other activities, easy meals/drinks etc all close together but with variety of options. Staff friendliness and help outstanding and needs celebrating.

Great stay for our family at this hotel - it was big and spacious with lots of different options available. Kids loved it. The closeness of the Yanuca Lagoon pool to the beach made it easy to watch the kids and have the choice of activities. Breakfast buffet at Takali was awesome and extensive and the bedding was nice and comfortable.
It is very commercial and it was a stark contrast to our earlier stay on the islands, with lots more people and kids around so it really depends on how you like to travel and what you enjoy. I would recommend staying at Shangri La and I think it is one of the best options on the mainland Fiji in terms of value and options.

The reef wing was fantastic.

My boyfriend and I opted for the Reef wing, adults only section and while visiting the other side, I'm glad we did. The reef wing was quiet, had their own infinity pool and beach section. Most all the staff, except at the asian restaurant was not only friendly but went above and beyond to make you feel welcome and at home. One of our bartenders went and got fresh coconuts for my boyfriend and did it with nothing but a smile on his face. We arrived very early in the morning and the front desk staff accommodated getting us into our room after a 10 hr flight. My only critique is the all inclusive package, the drinks are a special list only, not everything and from 12 to 10p, vs being as soon as the bar opened.

The welcoming not so great from the security team very rude and aggresive behaviour made me have second thoughts for visiting the place but when i went inside the team were very friendly and helpfull i really admire and apprecaite the hardworking staffs and team specially Peni in bilo bar, Kelera her cooking love it 🙃🙃, and Nepolean at the lobby very friendly and welcoming... Loved every bit of my stay aprt from the rude and aggresive beahoviour from the security team if this can be improved as thats the entry point have to welcoming and friendly the aggressive attitude sorry mate we pay huge amount of money to relax and enjoy not deal with rude behaviour and aggresive attitudes.

The property needs proper quality of maintenance as the repairs done show lack of craftsmenship. the finishing of patching and painting works. The rooms.
I am a migrated fiji indian person. i felt the treatment given to all paying guests were not the same. the treatment to vulagis was at times different to me. twice to be accurate. the barmen at the beachside restaurents were awesome. the place is very peaceful. so alot of positives. Great buffet breakfast. the best i found in fiji on this trip. And i went to a numver of resorts.
My comments on the maintenance is based on my two visits to this resort.

Our stay at Shangri-La Yanunca Island was a great last minute option after we had to cancel our trip to Noumea. We opted for the all inclusive package so we didn't have to worry about currency etc. For a 7 night stay there was enough variety of restaurants for lunch and dinner, the buffet breakfast got a bit repetitive. There was everything we needed on the island with optional extras offered (e.g. scuba diving). We onlywish the weather had been a bit nicer!
For those travelling without children, the Reef Wing (adults only) is a fantastic option. We enjoyed having the golf green fees waived, an extra 30 minutes massage for free and the adults only pool!
I had expected the room to be more luxurious, but found the bathroom to be quite outdated. The staff were all fantastic and welcoming.

Although this property is not in its prime, it is still well taken care of and the staff is genuinely friendly and helpful. Being two adults, we stayed in the adult section of the property, but most of the hotel area catered to families and kids. Although the hotel offers several restaurants, the adults only restaurants were limited to one.

This hotel has its positives, nice location, beach is beautiful, friendly staff. But the adults side is lacking given you have to go to the other side for most meals. The better beach is on the other side too. Room cleanliness is hard given the bugs that fly in if your patio door is open. Feels like not enough staff to manage everything and you need to wait some time for a cart to take you anywhere
