They needed chests with draws in the room for clothes, a small store for incidentals like aspirin etc and the translucent wall for the shower is horrible-throws light into the bedroom waking others/

This hotel is perfectly positioned for general.purposes. It was right across from the Old Town Trolley welcome center, which we used during Friday and Saturday. The old main gates to the city were 2 blocks away. In between lay the St. Augustine welcome center and STAR LINE complementary bus, which we used for the Black Raven Sunset Pirate cruise. All that was near perfect, but the Renaissance Hotel was a step above everything! We arrived early on Friday, asked if our room was ready and, considering it was 8:00 EDT, we did not expect it to be ready. We decided breakfast was in order which we had in the onsite restaurant. Near the end of our meal, we received a call that our room was ready! We finished and crossed the courtyard to the lobby and our vehicle was already there. I checked us in and my wife and valet already had the luggage on the cart ready to head to our room! I could go on, but the service only improved, so there is no need! What we noticed is, at least to us, that all the hotels surrounding St. George St. were smaller with extremely limited parking and appeared to be a little shabby! That is decidedly NOT the case with respect to the Renaissance! The Renaissance Hotel is very near perfect and the entire staff were very well trained and proud to honorably serve all!

It was all excellent but our fridge conked out the first night and we had to get a replacement. We lost several things in the fridge because it shut off. Would like to have had someone ask if the fridge had caused us to lose some food and drink. Also, AC was not working properly but we got an engineer from the hotel to fix it.

Mackenzie at the front desk was awesome, she helped us check in early, and with a great room on the second floor. The rest of the front desk staff were great as well. Room was clean, and in a great location. Daniel, from the bar was in the lobby, making fresh free non alcoholic beverages, which was a very nice touch. Kudos to the General manager for that touch. The location is walkable to everything, and safe. The only down spot was the increase to Valet parking, which doubled to 40 dollars, used to be 20 which was a little better. Overall my experience was a 8/10 with my family. Will return Thanks

This was our second stay at the Renaissance. They have lovely, clean rooms. The hotel is spotless. We had a room with a balcony overlooking W. Castillo Drive, which allowed us to view fireworks without getting swallowed in the crowd. We'll be back.

Very nice place with a very pleasant smell. Shower was nice and the natural light in the room was enjoyable.

We have stayed here a few times and it was excellent as always.

My only complaint would be that there are no full length mirrors and none of the outlets seemed to be working in the room. The had to call an engineer. Otherwise a great & clean property.

The staff was excellent, attentive, informative and just plain nice. There are no drawers in the room. God forbid that a guest stay any longer than a night or two and want to unpack.

This was part of a pirate expedition around the outside coast of Florida. The valet gave some great advice on the local spots. I fell in love with the outside terrace and the low lightning at night. Great ambience and peaceful. Front desk was a little to matter of the fact. But I will stay here every time I go back to the area. Maybe stay longer next time.. Veteran approved!!

This hotel was a visual delight, from the grand staircase to the funky chairs. The room was very nice and the location was excellent.

Both the room and the common areas were beautiful, clean and well maintained. The location is conveniently located right in the historical area of St. Augustine’s. It’s just a few minutes walk to everything you could possibly want or need. I was disappointed in their sneaky attempt to downgrade our room. After receiving the keys and lugging all our stuff to the room, they had provided us a two double bed room without a balcony. I had booked a king room with balcony (which had already been paid in full). I had to lug all my stuff back downstairs again only to be told they had overbooked and that they had no wiggle room. They offered us free breakfast. When that didn’t satisfy me, they offered free parking. This didn’t satisfy me either as I simply wanted what I had paid for. After arguing and speaking with the management, they provided the room we had booked. We never received an apology and I was very disappointed that they tried to pull the wool over our eyes forcing me to argue for what we paid for. I had booked the room special for my wife’s birthday and Valentine’s Day. We had just driven across the state to celebrate. When we should have been feeling happy to be there and celebrating, we instead had feelings of anger and frustrations. Our experience was certainly not as positive as it could have been as a result.
