Disappointing from start to finish. No staff in the office on our arrival. We were worried there was no one to check us in. Someone showed up after 10 mins. AC was broken so we had to switch rooms. Second room, the phone was broken. There were bugs in the shower. The floor was so filthy my socks turned black after 10 minutes. Bedding was old and stained. Housekeeping dries bedding by hanging it over the fences around the pool. Unsightly. And not sanitized by the heat of a dryer. If I hadn’t pre-paid for four days I would have left after the first night. The pros: - The pool is nice. - The price is low, but not low enough for the condition of the hotel. Not a good value. I would have gladly paid more for a cleaner, more up to date room.

Room was fine. Clean with no frills. Bathroom fan was very loud and there was a bit of a strange smell. There was no coffee in the lobby or limited room service, as advertised.

Checkout was 11:00. Around 8:30 went to office and requested a late checkout of 11:30 it was ok. Shortly after 11:00 the manager started pounding on the door insisting I vacate the room immediately. I told him I was given a late checkout and he continued screaming at me now in Hindi I closed the door and 2 minutes later the phone started ring. I picked it up and it was him screaming at me. A couple min later he was back pounding on the door. I tried to reason him but he continued screaming By this time there where at least 15 people by the pool who we’re witnessing this horrible scene. He then started insulting me in front of everyone saying he knew about me and I was a bad person. I had no idea what he was talking about. I slammed the door and quickly finished packing. Because of his tirade it was now almost 12:00. I packed the car and went back to the office and asked for my receipt and left. It was the most unprofessional scene I’ve ever seen.

We enjoyed our stay at Hollywood City Inn. It checked all the boxes we were looking for: convenient location for Universal Studios, free parking, and a pool. It wasn’t a top of the line room, but for what we paid, we thought it was a great value and would stay again. We were especially delighted our rooms were freshened up each day. I feel like that is a rare amenity since COVID. If they offered breakfast it would have been even better, but a grocery store is a block away so it was easy enough to pick up food.

The parking is VERY SMALL so if you have a truck it’ll be harder to park. Also the advertising for the hotel states free breakfast, but there is nothing available. The individuals who clean the rooms are super nice and helpful. Overall it gets the job done; you sleep and shower.

It's an older property. Not great, but not terrible either. Price is fair for location and property condition.

Pictures are worth 1000 words is very true. The pictures of the room were accurate. The rooms were remodeled with hardwood floors, clean and comfortable. The pool is well kept and clean. The location is near the freeway and public transportation. The staff was always helpful and friendly. We will definitely stay here again the next time we are in the LA area.

Location is not perfect as described

I would really recommend this Hotel. Cheap and clean

The area this hotel is located has a lot of homeless people close by. The streets were dirty and smelled of urine. The room needed a lot of attention. Towel bar almost off the wall in the bathroom. Door didn't seem secure. Outlets loose and not convenient for charging. TV guide and moving between channels not easy. Not a room to hang out in.

easy check in/out process. the room we were in had lots of water damage on the roof in the bathroom. we also saw two cockroaches during our three day stay. we requested maid service the second day we were there but they only switched out two of the three beds we had. they did restock our towels & change the trash. the wifi was also very weak. the parking lot gets very full during the night but they are very accommodating. it was an ok stay after all.

Dirty smelly room, un comfortable bed and pillows, shower tap was leaking all the time; middle of the night wakes me up thinking that it is raining. Room wasn’t the same on the website. Wrong chosen

Room smelt like smoke. It did not feel very clean. The sound of the plumbing woke us up on our first night and made it hard to sleep. The AC was also very loud. However, check in and check out was very easy. It was great to have the place right near the metro B line and a bunch of other bus stops as it made transiting very convenient.

The floors were dirty and there was a hair in my bed when I checked in.

This cozy inn and location provided a very quiet, comfortable stay! The pool was open early in the morning and a welcome start to the day! It was crystal clean and just the right temperature. For the price, it would be hard to find a better place in Hollywood!

Clean facility. Note the location is a hub for homeless and active drug users. Also the sidewalks abound in trash. It was sickening. Hard to believe I was in a US city. Is this the future of big cities?

The room smells bad. The air conditioner and hair dryer are dusty and have never been cleaned. The staff is rude.

There was no tissues/napkins. The wifi connected but there was no actual internet.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!! We stayed two nights at this place. The first night was extremely noisy between the crying and yelling around in the middle of the night and the construction starting early in the morning on the street next to the property. We left early for our day of activities. Upon returning to our room around in the evening we noticed someone had gone in our room despite us leaving the "Do not disturb" sign on the handle. We know someone went in because things were moved and new towels had been placed in the room. Also our "DND" sign was flipped to "wanting service." Both my girlfriend and I found this very weird and disturbing. As if they were trying to "cover" for themselves. I went to the manager with our concerns. When I explained to him what had happened, instead of being apologetic or helping figure out what happened he began yelling at me, calling me a liar and when I asked for his name he threw a business card at me. I contacted LAPD and filed a report with them as well as the Better Business Bureau and Department of Consumer Affairs. I would never stay or recommend this place if you value customer service, a good nights sleep, your safety or your privacy.

Although it was a non-smoking room, clearly people had smoked weed in it recently. The entire room and half the pillows smelled. However, you get what you pay for I guess.

Convenient location, neighborhood not so good tho, but hey, it’s Hollywood so it’s a bit like that everywhere. Rooms were ok, only thing was there was a door on each end of our building that would slam close so when people left early in the am it would wake me up. Parking is great and free!!!!!!!

The room was spacious, although the bathroom was small and hard to move around inside. Swimming pool was very clean and enjoyable.

Basic lodgement in city centre for a couple days is good … regqrds
