If your looking for a semi clean property in the middle of all the action then this is your place. The pool and bar staff were wonderful. With a few minor updates this would be a 10/10 property.

The room stank so much as if the carpet was wet and a smell of mold in the air . I had to use Lysol spray or I thought I would throw up. The power went out and I had to carry my own luggage down 4 flights of stairs . The hallway in the corridor in the floor I my bedroom was at stank like a dead corps

The front desk, manger Jo,and housekeeper were amazing, however the staff at the long bar pool area where very rude and only served guests that where only Mexican or white.

I do not typically leave reviews, but feel obligated to let others know that this place is nowhere near the standard of a typical DoubleTree hotel. This was, by far, the worst, yet most expensive, DoubleTree I've ever stayed in. Seemed more like a discount motel. These were some of the issues: 1. Balcony door was warped and would not close completely to lock. 2. Outlets/Chargers on the nightstand did not work 3. Holes in the headboards and paint chipped from walls 4. Safe in the room did not work 5. At various times these were out of order: elevator, pool restroom, one of the front doors to the hotel 6. Phone in room did not work 7. Refrigerator was unplugged...i think it may have started working after we plugged it in 8. The back door to the hotel had a sign that said a key was required for entry, but stayed unlocked 24/7 This place is more like a neglected motel than a DoubleTree Hotel. Don't let the pics fool you.

Front desk staff were wonderful.

The beds and the floor in the room we got felt wet and it came with an awful pool water smell. Planned for a two day vacation but decided to leave early and asked if we would get refunded for the day we didn't spend. They said it was possible as long as we left before 11AM so we got out by 8AM. A day later and we still got charged for that day even though they said it would be refunded. Called them and they said a bunch of bs and that we checked out just now. This place is a SCAM. DO NOT COME HERE.

I would stay here again. All of the people in the hotel were all helpfull. I felt safe in the hotel for myself and my family. Close to all of the attractions, convenient location, free self-parking. Has a nice bar facing the beach. One con: the hotel is a little bit old and to me, it is a little overpriced given the condition of the hotel. But in Galveston Island, you have limited amount of options decent prices. This hotel is one of them. We only stayed for 1 night as a pass through and would stay there again.

the staff there was amazing to me and my wife and we absolutely loved everything about it now the wifi was pretty hard to figure out but who needs it when you got so many places to go

Bathroom floor was leaking water. Tons of wear and tear within the room. Carpet was extremely dirty all over the hotel. Definitely needs some updating to make it look clean. A little too pricey for how dirty the hotel was but I guess it’s because it’s located on the shoreline.The drinks at the pool bar were amazing.

Walkable distance to beach. Clean pool. Restaurant in house. Friendly staffs. Easy parking.

I Would have appreciated a microwave and free parking paying that much for a room. Beautiful place and location.

It’s a great place to stay. Very clean & friendly staff. Swim up bar was great and loved that location was just across the street from the beach! Would stay again! Loved the balcony view! Other comments about window curtains is true. It’s wear & tear, but that shouldn’t keep you from making a reservation.

Like the location, room views, pool and bar. I think walking in gives the wrong impression. That reception looks dated and needs work. Carpet in elevator #2 is old and messy looking.

The room had a damp smell - and the lamp shades were stained. I realize it’s beachfront property, but these were overly in my opinion. We would stay there in the future based on all else -

This place is amazing a little older but a great place to stay. The beach is literally across the street the pool and tiki bar right outside your window. The only real issue we had was the room smelt a bit musty but not enough to make us change rooms. We will be staying there again in the near future.

The staff was nice, the bed was comfy and there were plenty of towels, the pool was nice. It was filthy. I dropped an earring and had to get on floor to find it, sticky floor, dirt and filth under all furniture and bed, frame that holds mattress was filthy.

The hotel is located across the street from the sea wall. Great location.

The room smelled like mildew, probably because the air conditioner was leaking water and spilled onto the carpet. We couldn’t even use part of the room or we we’d step in water. Then, the light above the shower flickered off and on, tried turning the light off, but it continued to flicker. Next, there was an outside firepit, when we asked how to turn it on, the employee was on his phone didn’t even look up at us and just said it doesn’t work and continued browsing through his phone. The outdoor pool was nice, but it would have been nicer if the tiki bar played some music, this is just a suggestion.

It’s was a comfortable stay. My kids truly enjoyed the warm fresh cookies the front desk gives at check in. We enjoyed the beach and area. We would stay again.
