Room not available at check-in time of 2pm. Had to settle for a smoking floor. Waiting at the time of breakfast. On check-out despite calling and waiting for over 10 mins, no one came to pick-up luggage.

My room had a view of the arch Oceanside With a balcony. One, if you open the balcony to enjoy the view, your room becomes almost immediately filled with humidity. The HVAC system is not balanced, so even after wiping everything down, changing the sheets, the room remain damp. My clothes was damp. The bed was damp, and the room smelled moldy. My room remained damp throughout the following day at one point I actually had to change my clothes because the humidity made the clothes I was wearing also damp . I had two meals at the hotel both were mediocre at best. My last meal was a seafood dish that came with scallops unfortunately it’s seen that the scallop had frozen for quite some time and just fell apart in the dish. Overall, the dish was not edible and I asked for a check and left. On two supplications, I was asked whether I was a guest of the hotel which was a little off putting and insulting. Not some as for what they asked, but how it was asked.

The Taj Hotel is an excellent place to stay. On this visit I had a terrible experience with the duty manager at check in. The Director of Operations resolved the issue with professionalism and made us experience the warm welcome that I know The Taj Group of Hotels offer their guest. It takes one staff (especially management) to change a guest mind from returning. We were upgraded to the palace and offered the club facilities. Our room was decorated with balloons, and tasty chocolate cake and fruits where left for us to enjoy. I have stayed here previously (in 2017, 2018 and 2022) and have fond memories of this hotel. On our first stay at the Taj Mahal Towers we where fortune enough to meet the duty manager reception and the manager who welcomed us and made us feel like royalties. We were upgraded to the palace with club facilities. On our next two visits we where automatically upgraded to the palace with club facilities. Thank you once again Mr Avinash Sehrawat for making our stay so special and keeping the vision of the Taj Group of Hotels alive.

We had been upgraded from the Taj tower to the Taj Palace however the rooms felt very old fashioned and not up to par with the likes of Trident or JW. We had asked about checkout to be extended as per our convo with Ruhi. However again unlike other hotels which allow late checkout by 3-4pm, Taj doesn’t follow. The room had bare minimum toiletries and I had to call them to get toiletries for two people as it looked as it was packed only for 1 person. Later in the day we looked at their pool area which I think could have been better with mosquito repellants and a few outside fans. This is something trident hotel does. Again, a little thing can go a long way. Having dinner there was also quite pricy, around 3k per person. The fee isn’t the issue until u see the variety of food available, which did feel like it was leftover. I would def recommend seeing other 5 star hotels dinner as for the same cost the variety is more. Same for breakfast, variety is 1/3 of what I’ve seen at 5 stars. Also, later in the evening, I called 3 separate telephone lines to connect to housekeeping, front desk, concierge, and eventually operator also in hope to get in touch with someone to bring bed sheets. I don’t think I’ve been to a hotel in Mumbai where each call I rang for 20 times and yet no one picked up. While the hotel is surely vintage, classic, and the oldest hotel in Mumbai - I think it has a lot of catching up to do to consider itself amongst the modern hotels.

Wanted to stay at a prime location in Mumbai for family reason and nothing perhaps can be better than Taj Mahals be that Palace or Towers. To have clear sea-views & view of Gateway from upper floor, we opted Taj Mahal Tower and the view was perfect, as expected. Even Sunrise view is an additional pleasure. The entire team, be at the front desk or HK or at Shamiana Restaurant is extremely supportive and caring. Indian traditional welcome is another plus...

Great hotel great staff

I feel like calling this hotel amazing is an understatement. One of the nicest hotels I’ve stayed at, great atmosphere, great facilities, great people, great food, everything at superlative! Will definitely recommend!

I highly recommend the hotel Taj Mahal in Mumbai, India. Excellent employees and with a lot of amenities and marvelous restaurants.

We had a fun stay at the distinctive Taj Palace! My elderly parents and I appreciated the Taj tour given by a dedicated historian, as also the courtesy of all the staff including housekeeping who went all out to make us comfortable. My teenager enjoyed the pool service, with towels and water bottles being delivered to her without asking:) And a shout out to the wonderful bookseller who gave us excellent recommendations.

Best hotel to stay in Mumbai

Iconic hotel in Mumbai. Gets very busy during the weekends from Friday. Staff service excellent.

We were upgraded to the Taj Mahal Palace (connected to the Taj Mahal Tower) and it was totally over-the-top wonderful. Perfect in every way, with service oozing out at every opportunity. Wonderful room (great charging plugs, beautiful bathroom, lots of wonderful amenities, fruit and snacks delivered on the first day, fantastic food in the hotel, great bed/sheets/pillows.

Excellent hotel in every respect

We have stayed at some nice hotels and resorts around the world, and by far this was the best. Yes, the rooms and everything the hotel offers is 5 stars, but for us, what made this experience amazing was the staff. Every single person that works there go above and beyond to make the customers feel comfortable and welcome, and they truly do it from the heart, with pride and genuine care, not because they have to and it’s their job. Thank you to all the staff at The Taj, we will come back because of how well you took care of us.

Amazing hotel, amazing atmosphere, smooth check in with the amazing staff. But wait staff and lobby staff lack customer service etiquette. We were asked multiple times why we were seated in the lobby and if we were guests of the hotel

Breakfast was worst

Just an amazing stay! Everything started with a great check-in experience where Anosh and the team gave the full attention for me to the details! I was offered an upgrade and Anosh even offered me a nice pick-up breakfast pack for the next day, as I would have an early start going to the airport. Facilities are just amazing, sound & video experience at the pool in the evening, nice jacuzzi, tasty delicious food at Masala Kraft restaurant. Definetely go back to Taj Mahal Tower in my next visit! I think the warmth and welcome check in from Anosh has paved the ground for such a positive experience
