What a great located place, clean and extremely friendly hotel, I loved how nice and helpful the hotel managers were, highly recommended and ask to meet the furry girls they have they are gorgeous !

Probably the best "old school" motel I've stayed in. Would definitely ask for room 710 again - nice and spacious with a great shower. Really comfy bed with nice bedding for the cooler South Island nights. Great location for young families with a short walk to Tahuna beach and all of its child friendly entertainment and beautiful sand.

Loved the motel, very clean & tidy

Proximity to the beach activities which was the reason for our stay. Also proximity to restaurants within walking distance. And also the sunshine!

It was a busy time and my hotel choice was made at this point in a hurry. But I am glad I picked Balmoral. Great location, 5 min to the beach and max 10 to restaurants. Amazing walk to town, it is an hour long but great views and totally worth it. The room was spacious and clean. Basic necessities. It's a motel, not a hotel, so you need to get your breakfast, but the awesome lady that the front desk can get something if you ask the night before. She was very welcoming and friendly throughout my stay. Totally recommend.

Good location close to airport and a short drive to the CBD. The rooms are older but with updated bathroom, and had everything we needed. Unfortunately, the walls between rooms are very thin and there was a group of people in the next room partying for most of the night.

Nice experience, rooms tidy and clean, close to everything.

4 on condition and comfort as its refurbished so very clean and tidy but not modern and floorboards upstairs very creaky. Could hear guests every move.

Our flight home was cancelled and we needed somewhere to stay for the night. Close to the airport, the location was ideal. We were greeted warmly, space was clean, bed comfortable. Ideal for a brief stay. Happy, too, with the recommendation for dinner.

What I look for and expect to see in the accommodation i choose to stay at is: Most important to me, cleanliness and what it has to offer for my comfort - and friendly hosts. This accommodation has it all. Cleanliness, Friendly smiling face greeted us and everything we could possible need in the spacious studio unit. Green tea, (my fav) plunger coffee, gave us milk in cute glass bottle not carton, everything in kitchen you could possibly need, soap holder in shower, ( it has soap dispenser, I like to use my own soap) hairdryer next to vanity unit mirror. comfortable warm bed, couch, dining table, reading lights over bed and couch, easy to reach switches, wardrobe and case rack, clean carpets and bedding. Warm unit. I give this 5* ++ and would highly recommend. The icing on the cake for me with this unit would be a brighter coat of paint on the walls. This is not a negative because it doesnt matter. Also being close to restaurants and beach - just an added bonus. Also a bonus, it is very close to bus stops. You couldnt want for more..go stay.

Location was great! About 5 minutes walk to the Tahinanui beach. The hosts were very friendly and helpful too. Only qualm was finding a big cockroach in the wardrobe and 1 small cockroach in the living room. When we mentioned it they apologised profusely and promised to clean the room thoroughly. Other than that it was a pleasant stay :)

A really nice Motel just outside of Nelson. The unit was spacious, clean and well equipped. The laundry room was very useful and easy to use.Really loved the little area out the back of the units. Nice to sit in the fresh air.We ate at the Smugglers just along the road and had a really nice dinner there.I would definitely recommend the Balmoral.

Just one small complaint, where the micro wave is situated the corners of the base need to be rounded off as I struck my head on the corners several times other than that my daughter and I enjoyed the stay. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH. Wally and Autumn.
