Left my watch in the room which they willl have found, rang them as soon as I realised left message and have rang over ten times with no answer. Have reported to police

Room only, not restaurant or food on site and limited opption. Next to Devon expressway so a bit of road noise.

The stay was perfectly fine, and the staff were friendly. Hotel is in need of some TLC or investment however. The restaurant and bar area is currently closed, and when we were there, there was minimal staff. Has a lot of potential to be a great place for accessing the rest of Devon area.

Convenient for A38

There was no food available which was inconvenient but mainly there was no bar !!! Or rather there was a bar but it wasn’t open. We weren’t made aware of this at the time of booking & it was a massive inconvenience. We were using the hotel as a base to travel far & wide revisiting some of the places we went on honeymoon thirty four years ago as it was our anniversary week. After each day travelling it would have been nice get back to the hotel & relax with a few drinks. As it was we had to settle for buying alcohol locally & having it in our room so as not to drink & drive. Hardly romantic.
Our room was a good size & everything was clean & tidy. The location & views leave a little to be desired but the main issue was not to be forewarned that there was no functioning bar. That was unforgivable.

I didn't realise the hotel was being renovated and had no amenities, this wasn't clear on the booking site. As it was late evening and I was a solo female I felt like I wouldn't feel safe walking down the road to get drink/snacks, so I think even if the place is being renovated it still needs something for visitors to buy if they need something. The carpark looked very dodgy and as a first impression it wasn't great.
On a positive note when I arrived the man at the desk was very polite and helpful, check in was simple. The room was average, a bit dated and quite small. The bedside table light didn't work so it was a choice of ceiling spotlights or darkness. The TV worked fine. Internet was good. Bed was not very comfy and certainly wasnt as described in the hotel listing. There was constant road noise from the motorway outside but I drowned it out with the 3 fans that were in the room! I probably wouldn't stay again.
My photos won't attach on this site for some reason so I don't think they want people to know about the rooms!!

Stayed before & like the decor of the hotel. From check in to check out no problems or complaints other than bed a bit hard. Ample parking.

Very clean. Nice people

It was spotlessly clean and the owner more than helpful. It is a shame that there is no restaurant on site at present but the meal at the hotel a short walk away was fine.

Friendly owner, nice room.

The hotel and rooms are ok but the bar and restaurant are shut and you can’t even sit in there, some legal dispute apparently, so it’s not great to stay in. We were going to an event so it was fine but wouldn’t stay here otherwise.

The property itself is nicely renovated and staff were friendly. We were however disappointed that the bar was closed for refurbishment and then breakfast wasn’t available as the chef was off sick - surely a continental breakfast could have been an option. None of this was conveyed to us prior to arrival. The hotel is located away from any other amenities so we couldn’t even slip out and get food.

Very pleasant hotel , rooms clean and comfortable, good service from hotel staff. Only downside, window was ceiling window with blind so no natural light . Unfortunately bar and restaurant not open due to outside company not turning up. Nice pub serving food about a 10 minute walk . Would stay again.

All of the double rooms are on the front. The windows are double glazed but you can still here the dual carriageway

Driving towards hotel looked like the hotel was closed down to be honest. Once parking in car park at back wasn't sure if this was hotel car park or public carpark or should i pay via the app which car park signs said i should or get £100 fine but as was late evening took the chance and parked and went into reception. No bar / restaurant open and no staff about. Eventually someone i think the only staff person on site, checked me in and told me to enter car registration on touchscreen. The person was very polite and took me to show my room.
It was clean but very hot.
As bar restaurant was closed was really disappointing as wasn't informed of this. Location is remote so had no choice to stay in hot room no dinner and no cold drink.
In my opinion room rate was well overpriced.

Was another great day and stay

It was brilliant, it all looked very modern and clean and I really enjoyed myself. Only thing was our double bed was two single beds pushed together and if you were anywhere near the middle it was very easy for the beds to slide apart which left a slightly uncomfortable gap in the middle but I’m sure this could’ve been resolved had I specified I wanted just one double bed but overall I had a great time!

Restaurant closed, despite heavily marketing its services and in an isolated location, made the trip awkward.

The person who checked me in was rude. Just asked him any room on the ground floor. He shouted at me this is a hotel not your home. No bin in the room. Heating in the bathroom was full on during this heatwave. No food was served. Only had 2 people staying there so he could have given me a ground floor. No greeting on checking in.

absolutely disgusting! turned up carpark looked like it had been raided by gypsies, shower did work, complained to reception who were dam right rude, dirty towels anyway, light hanging off the wall in room, ripped chair

This review refers to my most recent stay for which the text I wrote didn’t save.
I booked a deluxe room expecting the same amazing room as my first stay. Wrong. It was postage stamp sized with a noisy air con unit the size of a fridge freezer in it. The condensation bucket was full with a load of mosquitos flying around it - I tipped it away and killed the mosquitoes. The bathroom was even smaller than you get in an average caravan with a shower that leaked and turned the bathroom floor into a paddling pool.
The worst bit was returning after seeing a friend. The entry system didn’t work and nobody answered the call button. After standing there continuously trying, another couple arrived and had the same issue. Tried calling the number and got an Indian call centre who had no concept of the time of day and accused us of not having checked in. No staff available to let us in either but someone was on their way. To make matters worse, I had forgotten to take my Parkinson’s Disease medication and it was in my room!! Pathetic service - nobody available to complain to and over an hour spent in the cold at 2am. Eventually another guest came and let us in.
Checked out in the morning and nobody to complain to. Absolutely will never EVER use OYO hotels again.

Nice hotel but we were placed in the loft space, was so hot. A fan that blew warm air, a window that was A4 size that wouldn’t fully open. 2 tea bags, 1 coffee and 1 milk so no refreshments. Got there at 3pm no food, local pub stop serving food so had a 20 min drive to get something to eat.

Arrived to this ‘deluxe’ room, with no windows, and a skylight that had no blind, which was directly above the bed. This meant it let in light, and a lot of noise from the A38 which is next to the hotel, but no view whatsoever.
The room smelt damp on our arrival, so we turned on the air conditioning, which was so loud you couldn’t hear the TV over it.
The entire place feels very poorly built, and we heard a lot from the other guests along the stairs outside of our room. The bathroom felt like a caravan bathroom.
When I enquired as to whether this was actually a deluxe room, the manager informed me that it is classed as a deluxe room, but in his opinion it needed to be changed, but had no control over what was stated as a deluxe room. He mentioned that he would have offered a change of room, but it was a full house. He offered no other kind of remuneration.
We had visited the restaurant in the hotel the year previously, finding that the restaurant was very nicely appointed, we imagined that the hotel would have been lovely, despite the poor reviews here. I was wrong. I have never said this about a hotel before but we would never stay here again.

Room was boiling hot - after forcing the window open and keeping the fan on 24/7 it became bearable. Service existed if ringing a guy who appears and gave me a swipe card. Did not see any other member of staff for the entire 3 night duration of the stay.

Hotel was completely dead when we arrived although it was very nicely renovated. Has a large car park although you must remember to put in your car reg at reception, not sure why charges are in place here, I can see why this might confuse some customers. The restaurant and bar were not available, from previous reviews it has been this way for some time which seems a loss to the business and customers, it looked great in there! Would have been nice for advice where we could go to eat or a mini fridge in rooms to keep our own food.Room was basic but clean and comfortable. Unfortunately due to the location next to the motorway we could hear traffic even through the double glazed windows which along with the constantly running toilet made sleep difficult.Unfortunately we lost our room card, no one at reception to help so had to call a number left there. The manager seemed reluctant to come help and came across a bit standoffish which made me uncomfortable, but he came to reception. He did not seem very friendly but did provide us with a new card. From my impressions the reception is never manned.Overall I would say this place is okay to stay for a night or 2 but has the potential to be good roadside hotel and a great place to eat, but seems there are a few things holding it back- mainly the lack of friendly staff, a place to eat and an upgrade to the windows for noise control

Unfortunately when we got there - there was no reception and on the desk a mobile number to ring - someone turned up and signed us in. After a long drive I asked if we could book in for dinner. We were told they had no chef so would not be able to have breakfast either. We were very disappointed. The first room we were given the bed had hairs in and the cover was soiled. Albeit it did look like they had been cleaned so the sense check wasn’t great. The room was ok but not very clean.
