We had a fantastic stay at the Crown again. It’s ideal location, beautiful bathrooms and sunlit rooms make it the ultimate Napier stay for us. Friendly staff also rang to say we had left a wine cooler bag in the room and would they like us to send it back to Wellington for me ? That’s incredible service. When I left my togs in a room a five star hotel in Auckland said they never ring as it would take up too much of their time.

Perfect. Clean and comfortable. Great sea view room. Receptionist provided exceptional service when guest tumble dryer broke down! Lovely walks along the broadwalk, nice cafes nearby.

Everything was great maybe an option for of less amount of money than $200 and an option to choose whether the room comes with beverages or not before placing booking.

The property has a new building and an original one built in 1932. The rooms in the “old” building are advertised as “Heritage Suite”L so by “heritage”, they mean old and tired! . It had two chairs and a table; not exactly a suite. It also had terrible single pane windows, allowing noise in from the street, and an old wooden entry door that required a physical key to lock/unlock. Felt very tired. It wasn’t anywhere near what we expected for almost NZD$400 and the only thing we liked about it was proximity to the beach. Limited restaurants so we ended up driving 2.5 km to get dinner in the downtown core. Quite disappointing and I wouldn’t recommend it to a friend travelling to Napier.

Spotlessly clean and comfortable. Close to the water, lots of cafes and dining options. Small cinema next door. Hotel parking. $200 credit card hold for any minibar items.

The gentleman at the reception gave us great recommendations for dinner and a beautiful park to hike.

so nice to be able to go to sleep listening to the sound of waves on the shore. Milk and Honey cafe, Excellent, food and service for breakfast, lunch and tea. Comfortable and clean accomodation in a great location

Fantastic hotel great parking too

Just a quick overnight stay en route to Tauranga. Lovely room with 2 balconies and fluffy robes. A little hot and stuffy but nothing an open window couldn’t fix. Check in was easy, lots of parking and a few good eating options and kids playground in walking distance.

Lovely hotel. We are actually locals (from Hastings) and thought this was well located and priced for what you got. Very clean rooms, excellent facilities and just a really relaxing stay.
