Feel home and relax. You meet a lot of people from different nations in this house. The people who came to this type of hostel vatiety from family with the kids and retired couple.

The hostel is close to the JR Takayama station and the map provided by the receptionist is extremely helpful. The inn is probably run by English speaking operator so language should not be a problem. Our room was bunk bed of 4. Be careful the room is slightly either elevated or collapsed at entrance which can be an ankle hazard. Otherwise really ordinary room. Would look elsewhere if good alternative is available.

I booked the private room and was disappointed to only have one night. It was a really nice hostel, very friendly and cosy. They were strict about the check in time but it’s nothing that wasn’t advertised.

Hostel is very close to the Nohi bus station, 3 minutes by walking. However we find that the requirement to remove your shoes at the hostel entrance and bringing them in a plastic bag to the room is a bit inconvenient. Need to make up your own bed even staying at a private ensuite. It will be good if there is chair in the room. Overall a good choice to stay in Takayama.

Pros: good price, private bathroom, very central location and close to the train/bus station. Clean. Friendly staff. Cons: we were in a bunkbed room (506) and there was a lot of noise from the airconditioning/heating which couldn't be switched off - complimentary earplugs available but wouldn't want to stay there again.

I am very satisfied with Ks House Takayama, in fact I love all Ks House Hostel. Its very clean and homely. It has lovely lounge and dining place which makes us love to dine in. The staff is extremely nice and friendly. They have also provided great service when I have requested a delivery of my lost item from the other Ks Hse branch. I highly recommend this place. Will definitely stay here again the next time I visit Takayama.

The location is great and the facilities are excellent. The rooms are clean and a good size. This hostel has a good clean kitchen and sitting area with a full private bathroom attached to each room. More like a good hotel than a hostel.

The staff were friendly and welcoming, gave me a thorough yet concise introduction to the place. The place is compact with common room (free coffee, wifi, computer). The individual room was clean, organised, comfortable. Locations within 15min walking distance to the station and right next to restaurants and other shopping streets.

Great location near JR station, staff are extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The hostel has all the amenities you could hope for in Japan, including a private washroom which is very appreciated, and a kitchen, lounge and more. The hostel was spotless, and the price was super affordable. I highly recommend K's house Takayama or any other K's house for that matter!

Great place to stay in the heart of Takayama! The staff were lovely and very accommodating and since it was our honeymoon even left sake and chopsticks in our room as well as a kind message. Very sweet! They were also always available to answer questions and point things out on the map and provide recommendations. The rooms are great with a comfy bed, super clean and the ensuite was also small, but very clean and efficient. Overall, highly recommended!

Just as described. Easy to communicate w/ staff. Comfortable bed, WiFi dependable, room very clean. Common areas are well organized if crowded sometimes, with labeling system for your food placed in the refrigerators and shoe lockers as you enter the foyer / slippers supplied. We had a private bedroom and bathroom, so cannot speak to the dorms or baths. Japanese seating in the room, but dining area offered both Japanese and western seating options. Two full service grocery stores within easy walking distance. The kitchen well supplied for two stoves, two refrigerators, two sinks, so two groups could cook, clean up at the same time. Easy walking to market and to exploring opportunities. Scenery lush and very pleasant train ride to / from Nagoya.
