Parents beware! This pool was only able to be used from 5pm - 9pm due to cleaning every day.. was told from front desk when i asked why we couldnt use pool she said its been like this for 3 weeks.. front desk did not let me know this at check in or I would not have checked in. I wanted this 3 day stay to be a staycation with my little guy which ended up us staying in the hotel room till 5pm till we could swim. Hottub was drained so I couldn't enjoy this either.. all should have been advised at check in. Spend the extra money go to a place where the pool is operational. Pool sign says on a piece of paper 9am - 9pm which is not the case
The elevator made loud clunking noises when it hits 3rd floor, the lights in the gym flicker on and off all the time, there are huge bleach marks on the carpet in the hallway on 3rd floor, my bathroom vanity had the front piece missing. This hotel was definitely not worth the $650 total for the 3 nights very run down for that price!
Just do yourself a favor go to a different hotel that is better maintained for this price.

We've stayed here on a number of occasions and found very little to complain about. Staff are great , Ruth-Ann in the breakfast area always greeted us with a smile and friendly banter every morning, breakfast is lovely , lots to choose from . Only cosmetic problem in the room(paint peeling off the ceiling in the bathroom) . Will no doubt be staying there again

We booked this hotel last minute. Upon arrival, the staff were very friendly. There was quite a bit of garbage in the parking lot (take out containers and pop bottles mostly and lots of cigarette butts) and we notified the front desk staff. Some was picked up but the majority of the garbage remained throughout our stay. Our room was very clean and quiet and the shower was excellent. The breakfast was great with a good variety and the lady working the buffet was so efficient with her cleaning and stocking that nothing was ever empty and a crumb could not be found. We were disappointed that the pool was not open even though we were told that it would be open at 2 different times by staff.
Overall, I would stay at this hotel again.

This an older hotel, our room was functional but could have been updated. There was a large stain on the sofa that was odd.
It is, however, conveniently located close to Hwy 400 and a large grocery store.

Was a nice and clean place that looked renovated recently. Only issue was the showerhead was broken in my room, and their hot tub/whirlpool doesn’t work. When I asked the front desk, they said it hasn’t worked for 6 months so it doesn’t look like they are trying to fix it either.

This is the best hotel and value in Barrie. It is located in a quiet location but still easy for on and off the hwy. The breakfast is more than amble and every where is clean.

This was a pleasant stay except for the fact there was not enough parking.

Our stay at the Marriott Barrie was lacklustre and poor value. As a step up from three star hotels in the area we were expecting more. We stayed just one night after seeing Jerry Seinfeld at Casino Rama to eliminate a late night drive back to Toronto. The curtains provided were not blackout curtains and so the parking lot lights shone into the room. Further, the TV had a glow to it and we had to cover it with a jacket so that the light coming off the TV did not disturb our sleep. The linen was stiff to the skin. The shower did not work in the morning and we had to get housekeeping to come up and fix it which made us miss our breakfast in the morning. Front staff did kindly grab an yogourt for us. Although it was just the one night, it was definitely not a place that we would go back to.

The room was clean, we had an issue with the fridge in the room however it addressed quickly and to our satisfaction.
The room was very comfortable and we appreciated the ability to open the window in the room.
The cost of the room was acceptable to me as well. The staff were very friendly and accommodating when needed.
We did not take advantage of the breakfast due to our plans in the morning, though it smelled delicious.
