We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The Pizzas we shared at the restaurant were delicious. Some renovation was happening at the hotel during our stay. We understand it happens but it would of been nice to be notified before our arrival at the hotel. The shower in the very small bathroom was old and badly needed an update. Internet was spotty at best. We asked on the second day to have our bath towel replaced but they ran out of towels??? So we had to use our beach towel to dry ourself the last day. It is too bad because this hotel was highly recommended by people we met a week earlier and they enjoyed there stay at this location. Finally the hotel has a great big balcony open to all the guess where you can enjoy a coffee watching the sunrise or enjoy a cocktail and enjoy the sunset.

The new management took over the hotel in the beginning of December 21. Safe didn't work in the room, there is no a hairdryer in the whole hotel (reception included) and no phones in the room. Beside that , the place is very nice and very clean but there is still lots to improve from the customer care point of view.

It is very well located, the staff is too kind, love the breakfast, everything is nice, love it!

I’ve stayed at Gran Bahia twice. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The location is great; on Calle principal but at the end of the street so it’s not too noisy. The rooms aren’t fancy, but they are comfortable and clean. The only negative I can say is that while the rooms come with a television, neither of them worked.

This hotel is pretty old (and looks run-down in ways) but you cant expect a lot of luxury in Bocas...compared to other hotels that charge about the same or less, this one is just ok. Its in a loud area. Heavy bass/loud music is a pet peeve for me and I wasnt able to rest. Bathroom was very unattractive except for really nice sink. Close to some really great restaurants though. Nice that they had a water cooler just outside lobby area. After hours (9:30pm at time of writing) there is no receptionist or guard, you get a key to the front door and to your room.

We were in the highest priced room and a variety of things (refrigerator) did not work. The breakfast is terrible (Baloney and two cheeses) and not really a continental. Very poor service in front desk at reception.

This is one of the first hotels in Bocas del Toro. It is an old architecture building, very clean and the rooms very comfortable. It has an excelent view to the beach and you can enjoy the breakfast in its balcony.

Goid room. I rate the breakfast at 6/10. Basic fruit and cereal. Good coffee and juice. No eggs. Stayed for 2 nights, area was loud one of the nights. Old style building, lots of characterwhich I liked. Bed was comfy. Clean room and common areas. Lots cooler water available

The hotel looks dated. The room I was in looked old, the hot water wasnt really working. The staff was nice and helpful.

Historic hotel. Can not operate water. Must push down spigot like in a public restroom. Loved the location and restaurant in front of the hotel was delish. Bedding could be improved but overall it was a nice place to stay in bocas del toro. enjoy your stay.

Historic old Hotel in quite area within walking distance of everything we needed . Very friendly staff. Breakfast was included but was a little disappointing. Milk and fruit were warm. I would stay here again. Restaurant on property grilled Lobster was delicious.
