Comfortable room, friendly service at reception and breakfast. Short walk into town. Ideal spot for visiting Monteverde

I would recommend Villa Lodge. We prioritized adventure and activity over accommodations this trip, figuring we'd be falling into bed exhausted every night. This place was exactly what we expected. Clean with friendly service. Nothing fancy at all, but we were not expecting that.

Monteverde villa lodge was the perfect place for our first time in Monteverde. They had everything we needed at a great price. Karen and Kristina booked our travel from airport and excursion's, and the breakfast was delicious (fresh juice, fruit, and eggs and Costa Rica traditional) I can’t say enough good things about this place. I would definitely stay here again.

Good location for everything. The hotel staff is very helpful for booking the tours.It is very quiet. Many restaurants nearby.

They were very responsive via email. They booked transportation and guide to rainforest, in advance for the next morning. They also booked us for our onward journey to La Fortuna Many local restaurants nearby within walking distance to have lunch/dinner and shopping Good breakfast(included) to start your day! Very spacious room with furniture. Individual cabana was a nice feeling. Walking distance to Orchid Garden, a very unique experience.

We had a wonderful stay at the Villa Lodge and I would recommend it to any friends going to this area! The grounds are beautiful and clean and comfortable. The beds were very comfortable. The location was great! Tucked in a quiet spot away from traffic but in walking distance of all the town restaurants and shops. Karen at the front desk was wonderful at helping us book our excursions and fun to chat with as well. Breakfast was delicious and served in such a welcoming, friendly style.

We stayed here for two nights. The receptionst was really helpful, she guided us among all the activities you can do in the area and booked them for us once we had decided what to do. It is a 5-10 minute walk to some pretty good restaurants and the city centre. Location was good. The companies that arranged the acitivities we took part in also offered pick-up at the hotel which was convenient. Depending on the activity it took 10-30 minutes to get to the starting point with the shuttle.

Highly recommend! This was one of the best properties that my family of 5 stayed at during our vacation to Costa Rica. The property is very well maintained. Great location to walk to restaurants and shops. Staff was very helpful booking tours. Breakfast was good.

Lovely property in Monteverde! Set up is great. Shared patio , which was great to use for as we were multiple families. Staff is extremely nice, breakfast was lovely! Would go again!

We stayed for 3 nights in one of the bungalows on the property. The bungalow was very clean and was equipped with microwave and fridge and sink. All the beds were in 1 room which worked well for our family(4). Small sitting area just outside the bungalow as well as a larger common patio outside the main reception to enjoy the garden area. Nice inside area where we enjoyed a great breakfast every morning. Anna at reception was very friendly and provided good information/could arrange a variety of tour options. Location only a short walk into Santa Elena town centre. Thanks again Monteverde villa lodge!

Great stay friendly helpful staff and nice breakfast. Close to town and amenities. Enjoyed our time in Monteverde immensely and the hotel was part of that!!

Staff was wonderful, and Bobby the house dog was a joy to be around. Only complaint was that it was a little loud at night (thin walls and a lot of noise from town). But I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone else headed to Santa Elena.

This was a cute little place to stay. We stayed in room 7 which was tucked in the back and felt like our own little place. My kids liked that there was 3 beds so they didnt have to share. The property has a nice little sitting area that would be a nice area to have a meal so sit out after adventures. The place is in a area that easy to walk to the "town center". The staff was nice and the breakfast was yummy. We had a choice of pancakes and fruit or the typical gallo pinto and fruit.

Perfect place to stay in Monteverde. Easy check in/out with great recommendations on what to do in the area and where to eat. Breakfast included was always good. Walkable to a lot of things in Monteverde. Right next to gym that does a cheaper walk in rate. You can set up all adventure’s/tour’s with front desk and pickup was always on time right at front of hotel. Room was very clean with comfortable beds. Rain at night put us right to sleep. They also had a cute hotel dog that was as chill as can be. Highly recommend.

Amazing Staff, Amazing Art, Loud Neighbors Amazing staff made for a great stay in Monteverde. The rooms were very simple, which allowed for a great environment in which to listen to the rain (We went in rainy season). The breakfast was served with joy every morning in the most wonderful dining area. Every wall is covered with well done murals depicting the wildlife of the region. The neighborhood can be a little loud with motorcycles/dirtbikes ripping through the streets at all hours. On Saturday night, people in the adjacent property had a loud party which lasted several hours. Overall it's an amazing value for the price paid and I would stay again.

My friend and I got the Family Room (1 queen, 1 double, 1 twin) for $110 CAD/night Likes: -friendly and helpful staff booked us the sloth tour and one explained how to take the local public bus to the cloud forest (cheaper than the $6USD/person for the shuttle they offer) -quiet area -huge room; lots of space for our backpacks. -beds were comfy -free breakfast (3 options: typical, eggs+toast, pancakes) -microwave (+plates/cutlery), mini fridge & coffee maker Dislikes: -no hot water in the kitchen and washroom sink -only hot water 1/4 times in the shower -lighting at night time was very dim -lighting in the washroom at all times very dim -no sign to leave outside the door to indicate you don’t want cleaning service daily -washroom needs more shelving and hooks -no ceiling fan as advertised, however there was a portable fan -there was only one garbage can -coffee maker, but no coffee/tea or sugar (however, during breakfast we asked for a couple of teabags to take up to our room) -kitchen didn’t have a sponge/dish soap to wash any dishes used -kitchen didn’t have towel or paper towel to dry your hands Random comments: -odd the fridge wasn’t plugged in before we arrived -for some reason there were a lot of dead bugs outside our door each morning -about a 5 minute walk into town, but very hilly

The owners and staff are very humble and friendly! They were eager to help with a smile. The paintings on the wall of Costa Rica scenery were uplifting and the small garden and patio was a nice place to relax in. We enjoyed the plentiful breakfast and plate of fruits. Overall good value for the money - I highly recommend this accommodation in Monteverde

Very nice family owned hotel. Great location, very clean and well furnished. Delicious breakfast. Spacious room. The quality is way better than the modest price ($110 for our room which has 3 comfortable beds)

We enjoyed the "cabin" with the small kitchenette. We were able to cook a simple meal there. The room was big. The breakfast was good. Our only issue was that it was very windy, so that was a little noisy and disconcerting. We could walk to the town.

The most unique about this property was the hospitality of the owner and his wife. Very nice people and very nice experience staying at their hotel. Highly recommend it!

Beautiful local hotel, very centrally located. The staff was amazing and the property was nice. There was a very friendly dog waiting to welcome us and send us off which was a great bonus. Breakfast was delicious and they were incredibly helpful getting us set up with stuff to do in Monteverde
