Perfect hotel for a solo stay in a single room and a good continental breakfast.

This accommodation was for a short stay in Cheltenham. The accommodation was in an excellent location for the shops and local amenities. The accommodation had a good homely feel, staff were friendly & informative. Breakfast was adequate with a good European variety of foods & drinks.

It was super cosy, so close to restaurants and the centre of Cheltenham, staff were super friendly.

The staff were very helpful and understanding. The room was okay, there were some things which need attention.

The hotel itself was really nice. However I had booked a single room, and I do not feel it was made clear online or during booking that the single room came with a separate bathroom which was across a landing from the room itself. I wouldn't have booked it otherwise. And for the price, that feels unfair. It's described as having a 'private bathroom' which I did not understand to mean 'separate bathroom'. Perhaps I was being naive. However, apart from this the stay was excellent. Fast check in, very welcoming, brilliant breakfast and nicely done room with lovely carpet.

Really good place to stay

Greeted upon arrival but no name given, daughter had to ask, out of the 3 people we saw not one introduced themselves. Amelia helped carry bags to our room and ensured we checked in smoothly, on street car parking booked etc and gave us a list of local eateries when asked. First day breakfast was limited (no jams, only 2 slices of white bread left) but everything was clearly labelled and allergens highlighted. Tea tray in our room was not replenished and I asked for more milk in the room as, luckily, my daughter had brought her own teabags. Days 2 and 3 breakfast were much better for availability. Room was clean and a good size (online picture made it look smaller than it actually was), beds were comfortable, bathroom was a decent size. Bedroom was at the rear of the property so not much noise. On street parking was a bit of a problem, lucky to find a space and had to park at the top of the street well away from The Abbey. Surrounding area was a little run down but we used The Abbey as a base for exploring the Cotswolds. Would stay here again

We really enjoyed our stay. It was a lovely little place. I was just sorry the cigarettes butts had not be emptied from the can by the front door, which smelled every time we walked passed. Other than that it was great!

This is a fabulous hotel within walking distance of the city centre. Lovely rooms, very clean and great staff. Parking is in the street but the hotel gives you a voucher and it’s easy. There was a mixup with my car parking and I received a parking ticket but the hotel sorted it out and paid for the ticket without any issues. Wonderful service. 100% recommend. 10/10.

The Abbey is a darling place to stay. Clean rooms, comfortable beds, and the most charming staff. Lovely breakfast and absolutely perfect location, close to everything . . . walkable to high street, tons of restaurants, the theatre, and the bus depot. I will definitely stay here again.

Perfect positioned property for Montpellier and the center of Cheltenham …. Very clean and lovely comfy bed .. Staff friendly. Would recommend. Nice and warm and parking £3 a day with hotel permit …. Just speak or e mail the hotel to request this …

The hotel is just a stone's throw from the town centre. The room was lovely and very clean and the hosts were very nice. Would absolutely stay here again.

I have Coeliac’s disease and Greg & Sophie were amazing. I even had gluten free sausage for my breakfast, which was a ver delicious breakfast! We would definitely like to stay at The Abbey Hotel again.

A real gem of a hotel. Had a wonderful stay. Perfect central location. Elegant stylish decor. Spacious room that was spotless. Relaxed atmosphere with a super chill owner / host who is always available to answer any questions and to ensure your stay is the best it could possibly be. Nothing is too much trouble. Ensures that it has the feel and comfort of a real home from home. Delicious breakfast. It was an absolute pleasure from arrival to departure. I have NEVER written a review of any hotel prior to this but the above needed to be said. Sophie - thank you !!

Well-located hotel, clean and comfortable rooms, friendly and attentive staff. Tasty, well-cooked breakfast, and an all-round pleasant stay. Parking is only available on the streets in Zone 1, but this cost is covered when you check-in by the hotel. I found a space easily. Would stay again!
