Lovely hotel renovated from an old post office. Wonderful location directly over the canal. Rooms are nice. However, in some rooms, the toilet is on a different level than the sink. They are connected by a narrow stair that does not have sufficient lighting when descending. It worked well enough, but one should know this before booking the room.

Very difficult to access. Should have some kind of service to enter to the hotel that is in the third level!

This hotel was so much prettier in person. Seeing the sunset beaming in behind the towers was breathtaking. I stayed in Suite 19 and was very pleased. I love that the front desk would write me "post card" notes. The staff was all friendly and willing to help with scheduling dinner reservations, helping me navigate the features of the room, and giving recommendations of things to do in the city. As a solo female traveler, I can recommend this city for safety and things to do. If you love aesthetic, taking photos/videos for social media posting, and luxury - then this is a great place for you to stay. I did not participate in their breakfast, but I did get hummus from the Cobbler bar and it was delicious. Check in/out was quick and easy. My room was actually ready early and they accommodated letting me go on inside since I had just traveled very far. Walkable to bars, restaurants, stores, activities. Bars, stores, McDonalds open late right across the street, which is nice for those of us visiting from a different time zone. Would stay here again!

We had a fantastic stay at 1898 The Post. Luxurious, close to landmarks, dining options and various modes of transport. The wonderful location allowed for seamless sightseeing of beautiful Ghent. The staff were most attentive. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Great property in the heart of Ghent. We had a lovely stay with our small baby. The staff were great and happy to help with anything. The only thing I would say is that the access isn’t that obvious/signposted when you first arrive.

This is such a unique & beautiful place. I absolutely loved the decor & ambiance. Staff is wonderful as well. OHH! and the breakfast was fantastic! Thank you so much for a memorable stay!

Beautiful hotel, very comfortable bed, and extremely welcoming staff. The additiona items for the children were a really nice touch, with the super cymute kids bathrobes and the fox for my youngest. The hotel itself is located right inthe centre of Gent, making it so easy to explore within the short stay we were there for. It is a beautiful building with lovely touches and wonderful views. We rarely visit somewhere twice, but are really considering making The Post 1898 a regular fixture in our europe road trip travels for the future.

We had a wonderful time. The hotel is beautiful and they have thought of every detail. The staff is exceptional and recomended places to eat and even helped plan our next leg of travel. You cant go wrong staying here!!

My friend and i absolutely loved the post! Its location, staff, accommodations, safety, and history added to its overall charm. We will make the Post a yearly destination place each July.

We completely realize the city was preparing for the festival. There was a lot of construction around the hotel for that. The hotel its self was lovely and so were the staff. We want to come back when it’s not festival season.

LOVE this hotel! Beautiful room (#7) - comfy bed - hot shower - the bar is wonderful - tasty breakfast - restaurants all around - great shops - if you love history and architecture, this is the spot!

Had noise till 1am out side hotel for event next weekend. A light beamed inside room till 12am . The hotel was not cheap and should had advised us

Stunning building. Perhaps the most tastefully decorated hotel I have ever seen. Kudos to whoever did the interior design. Great location, in the heart of where you want to be. Superb breakfast and great staff. It is a 5 star property. I only rated 4 star because of how incredibly inconvenient and disorganized the parking situation is. The hotel provides very vague and confusing information as to where to park off-site. Had to circle the city 3 times to find it. Not marked at all. We then had to drag our luggage through a crowded city, over a bridge, and up multiple steps at the hotel. No bellman and no signs. Not a 5 star experience. Until they solve this problem, it will not truly be a 5 star property.

An iconic unique boutique hotel. Favorite hotel we stayed at during our 2 week trip to Europe. Walk-in distance to everything. Toby from the front desk was outstanding. Helped plan us an amazing day itinerary. Memorable time in Ghent!!!

I loved this hotel! The staff was incredible, everyone was helpful and friendly, the room was comfortable and clean, the breakfast buffet was absolutely delicious. I will definitely be back!

We absolutely loved our stay at the Post! After a long journey from ZeBrugges, it was nice to be welcomed with a very friendly staff. They were so accomodating, even when our room was not ready they kindly gave us recommendations around town and stored our luggage for us! The location is perfect in the middle of everything we wanted to see. The decor and service was amazing. It was such a relaxing place to stay after a long summer day. Would definitely love to stay here again if we ever visit Ghent

Awesome location right in the heart of the city. Quirky room layout with bathroom above (toilet downstairs) but very comfortable. Staff were very attentive. Breakfast was great, as were the cocktails in The Cobbler bar.

Staff and bar staff amazing… location although beautiful was surrounded by kids and college students and they’re everywhere! I’ll take Bruges anytime. Also Driving the area is challenging at best.

What a great stay at The Post- everything at the hotel is so well planned and details were beautiful. Great location too! My only regret is that we were there for only one night ! The bedding and pillows were incredibly comfortable- and the shower was large, great water pressure too!
