Great walking distant to food, pubs and nightclub. Secure hotel to stay in. Would recommend to whānau and friends

Terrible stay. Our first night there was no hot water and when reporting the issue we where told "I Know" Moved to another room same issue. Then 4am woken up by kids coming in from party and carried on so loud had no sleep from 4am. We asked for a reimbursement due to our discomfort and we where offered $8.90 what a joke

Room was fine and clean, very basic accommodation but I was not in search of luxury. Good value considering the low price and central location. No exterior windows, so if you like the room very dark at night will be perfect.

Good location and access especially if you want a budget stay but notba hostel. Bed was comfy, hard to find the room.

Not what it looked like in the pictures

This is more like a backpackers with private rooms. Theres a shared kitchen and shared toilets (no toilet in your room) and then a random shower in the corner of the room with no privacy. The staff on reception were unhelpful and lacked customer service. No storage for bags prior to check in or after check out unless you wanna leave it in the corner where it could get stolen. Location is good. Would NEVER stay here as a solo traveller

Aura Hotel is different. The picture in the advertising was not what was in my room. The room felt like a concrete bunker. There were no windows, except maybe for the one in the door that had been covered over with cardboard. That's when I realised the room used to be an office. All of the rooms in my block used to be offices. Some rooms had their own ensuites. Mine didn't. I had to use the bathroom down the corridor in the common room. I had to wait for a staff member to finish using it before I could one morning. There wasn't a mirror in my room or the bathroom. There was no paper towel in the bathroom to wash and dry your hands after using the toilet. The wardrobes in my room were something from a second-hand shop and there was one coat-hanger between the two. There was no chair in my room. I couldn't watch the TV as I couldn't work out how to auto-tune the stations on the TV. The milk froze in the fridge. There were no rugs on the concrete floor. The bed was good. And the room was really dark. So, I slept well. It was cheap.

My recent stay at this hotel left much to be desired. The room was not ready upon my arrival, despite arriving three hours after the specified check-in time. Upon entering the room, I was immediately struck by the oppressive heat and stuffiness and lack of adequate ventilation. The room remained uncomfortably warm throughout my stay, making it difficult to relax or get a good night's sleep. Furthermore, the cleanliness of the room was far from satisfactory and the bathroom also fell short of expectations with an unpleasant odor. Overall, my stay was marred by the uncomfortable conditions and lack of cleanliness, leaving me with a negative impression of this hotel.

terrible experience !!!!! Dirty room and disgusting bed!! Leave the room immediately after checked in. would like to have 0/100 shame there was no zero star for feedback section.

Just a weird quirk, but due to the layout of the building, there are no windows. It creates a weird feeling, especially in such a picturesque country with such nice air quality.

I was not able to check-in. As announced by SMS I arrived at 9 pm. The instruction was to fab a scan to get access. I never received a scan, so this is impossible. In the hotel there should be a key with my name and room number. After waiting 2 hours in the rain, other hotel guests let me in. But there was no key waiting for me. By telephone nobody could be reached, neither by the emergency 0. So I had to find another place to stay in the middle of the night. I find this is a scam. Formal complaint will follow.

Didn’t even get to stay because they gave us the wrong room and we wanted a refund but haven’t heard back from them, no good service

The room was clean and tidy, but the walls were paper thin, the guy next door snored like a freight train all night, the floors were noisy when people walked over them in the early hours and late at night, you could hear people’s conversations loud and clear in neighbouring rooms. Extremely basic rooms.

I will never stay here again - a couple came back to the hotel at midnight, talked loudly, played music, and had s*x in the communal kitchen until the early hours. I felt trapped in my room and barely slept.

Filthy bed with hair in it. Filthy reception area. Staff refused refund from Expedia I want my money back filth merchants!.

Unhelpful staff unable to complete checkin

No windows and terribly loud air vents. Had booked 2 nights but couldn’t stand the prison cell vibes so booked elsewhere. Totally fine if you’re never in the room, and obviously it’s super cheap for centre cbd.

Rooms are clean and tidy, building in poor condition.

The shower would not drain. Blocked up. Phoned desk. No answer. No way to report it. Room G6. If hotel reads this. I pity the next guest in that room

The room was ok, the bed was relatively comfortable, and the property wasn’t as bad as the reviews portrayed it to be. The tv had Netflix which was a bonus. The shower was good. It was relatively quiet considering how the property is in the middle of the party precinct. It is more like a backpackers than a hotel, but of a relatively higher quality than a standard backpackers.

Staff was very rude and many other issues. Just stay away.

It was good and central, but only good if you need a place to stay if your going to town.

the room was average, paint peeling off the wall and looked like they hadnt vacuumed, but for $100 a night i was worth it. The bed was comfy enough and had all the basics. The worst thing was the customer service. I phoned at 7pm to ask about the parking, she said they are closed and left me instructions, told her that wasnt what I was asking and could she tell me where the best place to park is? Her response was that its not her problem and to find parking myself. I have asked for an invoice for my stay twice and still got nothing. The lady at the front desk was just a little rude and didn't seem interested in helping.

Average... but - you get what you pay for!

The service was very poor, reception said was to open at 9 and we waited until 10:30 to check out waiting for the return of the $100 deposit. But we had to leave in time for travel reasons, we have not yet seen the $100 deposited back into the account like the manager said it would be multiple times.

Dirty and smelly

I was very disappointed with everything about this hotel the rooms were not what was advertised when I booked online.the building was not what I expected,the smell reaked of dirt and old damp smelly carpet well overdue for a clean,the service was appalling rude no costumer service skills at all needs retraining or needs to be replaced.My room was absolutely disgusting the pillows were badly stained with dribble marks inside white pillow cases such a poor coverup honestly,and the duvet was just as bad there were urine stains on it and blood drops from who knows what,bed was discusting dust mites stench of urine just made me so upset to think I've just been ripped off😔.I took alot of photos one particular one was of the jig that was in our room the fricken thing was rusted,so I took it down to reception and all I got was what's wrong with it but the attitude that came with it😠 obviously showed they have no interest in our issues that we have with the room their interest is only what we hold in our bank card, apparently it was going to be replaced but for my 4 day stay It wasn't,the tv didn't work we didn't receive clean towels or bedding..on our last night there at the Aura hotel in Wellington people moved into the room next door and the noise they made from 10-1.30am was very load and disturbing as my husband and I needed to rest for our long drive back to Auckland that next morning,there was no number to call to lay a complaint this was just a bloody joke..

I didn’t get to stay there, they wouldn’t let Me because I didn’t have my passport with me so I Expect a full refund. Worse service ever! I am horrified and majorly disappointed. Sick Daughter in hospital and nowhere to stay because of FIFA World Cup-

This room was storing extra furniture which was in the way and the curtain would not work so we had to put up with lights all the time day and night

Worst place ever highly recomend finding somewhere beter...dirty dusty and disgusting 0/10
