Great guest houses. Main office has a dining room that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Must reserve before the meal so they know how many to cook for. It’s a horse ranch and you can watch the horses or book a horseback trail ride. Hosts are very hospitable and units are clean and convenient for a family or a couple.

Nice place, particularly the common area which is very nice with a nice view. Very helpful and friendly staff. The rooms are simple, two single beds so not very comfortable for couples. Also the food is very overpriced dinner is 8K which is too much for what is very simple food, breakfast is 4K and is not included.

Beautiful property and great cabin! We will stay here on future trips for sure! Loved the view and all the horses. Cabin had little kitchenette, but they also offered an breakfast option at the main building. Staff was very friendly. I do wish the hot tub was located closer to the cabins as it was too cold to shower, head to the main building, get in the hot tub, then head back to the cabin while in wet swimming suits.

Beautiful cottage, stayed at cottage #1. Radiator worked fine to warm us up over night with extra blanket and pillows backed up. Cute furry friends (1 dog and 1 cat) may want to say hi outside of your doorstep. Shower was only inconvenience as water was flooding outside of shower booth as the water stopper broken and no other water outlet available except shower booth. There was one floor wiper equipped there so for you to wipe the floor by yourselves.

Very nice cottage! It has big windows for a beautyful few on a landscape with horses. It was my second time and i would book it again.

Nice property. The only issue was that we were asked to take our shoes off when entering which made it quite inconvenient if we had left something out in the car. The cost to have laundry done was quite high so we opted not to have it done. The rooms were well appointed. I wanted to take advantage of the hot tub but the weather prevented using it.

The property was bit hard to find with Google, but the picture of the main house helped. We opted for dinner and spent $57.00 US on a soup, salad, chicken leg, potatoes and dessert. That was much more than an equivalent meals elsewhere in the country. There were no options as the food was prepared for the group and served all at one time. The food was okay, but not worth the price.

This is one of the best accommodations we stayed in Iceland during our weeklong trip. The cabins are located on a beautiful hill overlooking a neighboring horse farm. Horsing are roaming around. When weather is good, it looks like a dream. The cabins are simple and basic but kept very clean. Check-in was super smooth. Be sure to pre-book your dinner or breakfast to enjoy the family style meals provided by the hotel. My group thoroughly enjoyed the stay here and our teens wanted to go back again.

Stay here after your Golden Circle day trip if you plan to continue east the next day. The property is incredible, serene, and the staff is wonderful. Make sure to include yourselves for the meals!

It was very difficult to find the hotel. We were calling to the hotel for directions several times and were very patiently guided. Eventually the staff member drove to meet us and escorted to the hotel.

Our family of five had a great night at Hestheimar. Even though it was -10C we braved the hot tub and had a wonderful evening. The staff provided us each with bathrobes to use at the hot tub and showed up with wool hats to keep our heads warm - which we definitely needed. The cabins were compact but had everything we needed. Thank you for a memorable stay!

We watched a show if the Northern Lights dance across the sky directly above us. It was magical! The quiet landscape of the horse farm lent itself to our sense of wonder.

Gorgeous scenery with the horses on the property and the hot tub for patrons' use was an added bonus. Staff were super friendly, and great decor of the dining room/kitchen and lounge area. Wish i stayed more than 1 night.

This was a rural property and very nice. It would have been our best place we stayed in to see Northern lights but the weather did not cooperate. They had food available for purchase but we got on the road early and didn't buy breakfast. Again we had to remove shoes at front door, but slippers were provided.

The property sat on a hose farm. there were icelandic horses everywhere and it was just gorgeous. The cottages were lovely and clean. I will stay here again. The breakfast in the morning was really good

Excellent location with horses available for a nice ride. Very quiet and good amenities in the room.

Pillow and blankets literally dont smell clean. Did not use the pillows since smell like previously used pillow by person body hair odor. No soap at all in shower to use for 3 adults to wash. We paid alot of money to stay.1 night and was not what we expect from a guesthouse rated at 3 stars on expedia. N o r value for money spent. We will have to wait.for morning to see how breakfast included is of quality and if clean dining experience.

Great place in the country side view to mount hekla hoses around you just great

This was certainly the low point of our journey around West and South Island. We stayed at guest houses and luxury cottages and smaller cottages. This place left a terrible impression. This place is a fair distance from both Selfoss and Hella so not convenient. As a previous reviewer commented, we entered the reception area and a young man in a small office brusquely pointed to a map indicating where our unit was and that the key was on the table inside. He asked if we wanted breakfast for a large additional fee, and when we hesitated he asked “is that a yes or no?” That was it. We also did not experience the hospitality others had. I would have preferred a polite email indicating the unit number and instructions rather than this terrible exchange. The unit was spacious but not well equipped and the mattresses were past their prime. There are so many amazing places to stay in Iceland, with pleasant and engaging hosts. Spend your money elsewhere.
