The hotel property is immaculate. Excellent service, landscaping and amenities. We had a room overlooking the water and the famous rock. An amazing anniversary stay.

Safe and comfortable

I stayed here with my two kids, wonderful experience. The staff was super friendly and helpful with carrying my bags to my room. I was able to check in and use the pool right away while we waited for the room to be ready. Check out was an easy process. We ate at the inside the hotel and the food was delicious. Overall, we love it here and we’ll definitely be back.

This is an excellent place to stay if staying in El Tunco, Playa Sunzal. It is a very nice, well maintained property. Food is a little slow and there isn’t great poolside service, but those are very minor things that hopefully management will work out with time. The rooms are nicely appointed and the location is prime. We booked for two nights and then extended our stay a third. I doubt there’s much better in the area in terms of the location, the safety, the tranquility, the quality and the amenities.

I had no problem during my stay. Traveling alone can feel scary but this hotel made me feel safe. I stayed two nights, also I loved that it was in the middle of everything

Loved that Hotel Roca Sunzal was right on the beach and in the middle of everything. Super chill vibe and I felt safe walking to all the little shops and restaurants in the area. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Shout out to Cristian who waited on us in the restaurant.

Food at the restaurant was good.

We were very satisfied with our stay at Roca Sunzal. My only criticism would be making the grounds and access to rooms friendly for disabled/senior citizens. Upon arrival, we were informed that our room was an apartment suite on the 3rd floor which could only be accessed by stairs. Our family consisted of 5, including my 77 year old mother. Although she is still able to go up stairs, I’d prefer for safety reasons that she’d have the option of using an elevator. Also thinking of the employees who had to haul all our luggage (2 weeks worth), that’s a lot of carrying up and down the stairs.

Great service. The place is under renovation but if you look at it… the whole country is! We’ll definitely stay there again!

I would say this is a pretty average hotel, nothing stood out as high end or new. I will say that the staff was wonderful and the food was pretty good, but the rooms do not have hot water and my room felt damp no matter how high I had the AC set. I’m sure my stay would have been better if it hadn’t been raining the whole time and I could have been out exploring (the location is very nice), but instead I spent most of the time sitting in my humid, damp room. I was definitely ready to leave by the end of my trip!

Every details in this property is amazing. Definitely I can recommend this place. Also, I liked the family oriented (if you’re coming with children) hotel. Restaurant area and food was so delicious and very clean …. This place deserved five stars and a big happy face.

The hotel and staff were wonderful. So friendly. Even though we don’t speak fluent Spanish, we could still communicate everything with the staff. We will be back!! El Salvador is so safe and the beaches are beautiful.
