Love this hotel--such a great location, and a lovely property.

They were very accommodating, and friendly service. The bars were really great, and very convenient if you’re going to see shows. Very grateful for the extra steps they took to make our stay extra special.

The hotel is stylish in moody colors. My room had two twin sized beds, which was perfect for me and my friend. Bed was very comfortable. The design of the room maximized storage space like a cruise ship. Extra towels and toilet paper were provided. We had a city view of 42nd Street. Room was 95% quiet-can hear faintly sirens and beats from their club. Bathroom was spacious and very clean. The restaurant in the hotel had excellent food. There is no lobby/lounge space to hang out in- only to transit in and out. Highly recommended, I would stay here again.

Fabulous hotel, room very comfortable for single occupant. Large comfortable bed, lovely bathroom with shower. Perfect base for exploring New York. Very central location and wonderful view. Rooftop bar was great location for a pre theatre cocktail.

Went to NYC for an overnight trip to see a couple shows. The hotel staff was great, the rooms (and beds) were comfortable and decorated nicely. The location was also good, close enough to the theaters but out of the fray. I would definitely stay here again.

The room was well appointed and had some nice amenities. I requested a tea kettle that was waiting for me when I arrived. I would stay again

There is no lobby which I was not aware. I prefer to have one. The elevators were slow. The roof top bar has a $100 minimum past a certain hour. As a person traveling alone, I could not get a drink at the hotel without spending a lot of money.

The staff were amazing - I got to hotel a few hours early hoping to leave my bags and my room was ready and they let me check in early. Great location to get around town. The rooms are perfect with loads of great storage spaces so you don’t clutter the room up! Whenever you get back to hotel the reception team are so friendly. I would highly recommend and will definitely be back.

This is a very convenient hotel with a great rooftop bar and free jazz several nights a week. We were thrilled to be able to check in early. Our only issue was the lack of hot water in our shower; however in checkout the hotel manager gave us a generous bill discount and offer to provide upgrades on a future visit. We were very grateful and will return.

As usual for NYC, room was small, but cute and clean, with everything we needed. We were on 23rd floor, so we could hear the music of the nightclub (a few floors up) until 2 am. Not ideal. Rooftop bar was very cool! Service was great, location was convenient!

From check in with Cassandra to amazing personal service from David Schubert, this place was the best. We are long time guests at another hotel in the area and tried this. Literally booked our next visit from the plane home!!!

I love this hotel. Loaded with charm and right in the middle of everything, especially if you’re in NYC to see shows. Excellent service and attention to small details of your stay. The only drawback is there is not much space to put your things. It was just me on a 3 night trip and I struggled to put my clothes somewhere. They could have put some cute shelves on a blank wall and kept the charm of the room and give a place to set your clothes and things. Fabulous hotel though!

The Civillian is a nicely refurbished hotel close to all New York has to offer. The room was a bit small & the elevator a tad slow & cramped. While the room was small it was nice. The staff could not have been nicer. A great find only minutes from Times Square.

Such a cute spot. Everything was perfectly decorated and the staff was helpful and friendly. Very close to everything you want to see in the city. It had a modern Gen Z who loves the 1920’s vibe.

staff was mostly very friendly. Room was clean and modern. The light in the bathroom would not turn on without having a master switch on, which was near the room entrance which made it a little difficult using bathroom during the night. Other guests were noisy late at night. The TV did not work but turned off. When I followed the screen's directions on how to use it, it shut itself off. I did not feel the number of texts they sent me during my stay was necessary. The text asking me to specify when I would check out could have been worded more as a reminder about checkout time.

It looks nice and is in a good area. Thats about it. Definitely don’t come here for special occasions as they do nothing.

Disappointed. For a 4 star hotel and price point I was expecting more. Pro’s: Location is good, staff is friendly and the hotel design is cool. Roof top restaurant was also nice. Con’s: Room was extremely small, even by NY standards. No closet or hanging space, there was literally ONE drawer. Music in the hotel bar is super loud, which makes it difficult to sleep before 2am. The cherry on top for me was that the “included basis housekeeping” was a clean set of towels and throwing out the trash. The bed wasn’t even made, forget about a change of sheets or a clean bathroom. You needed to pay extra for that, which for a $300 plus a night I didn’t appreciate. In short, there are plenty of other hotels in the area and at a similar price point that offer more spacious, clean and quiet rooms.

The stay was nice. Went to the roof top lobby to get a drink before dinner. Service was terrible! Bartender was not waiting on anyone and just crossed his arms without any response to our order. We left!
