Great houses and property in beautiful country. Plenty of room for a big crowd and kid friendly. Accommodating and friendly ranch hand and owners.

We had a wonderful family gathering for Thanksgiving and it was amazing. The ranch has beautiful views, wonderful trails and great animals! The Octagon and Caspian provided lots of space for the family with all our meals at Octagon. Joe, was very friendly and helpful in getting us situated. Mark, the owner, was also very pleasant to work with. Look forward to a return trip sometime in the future.

We were able to celebrate our family Christmas together in this awesome lodge. Mark was very considerate of us making sure that we were comfortable. Thank you!

Both homes and the media craft barn were much bigger and more spacious than I could summize from the posted pictures. I loved the privacy of the location and the trust that was afforded my group. The weather changed quickly so we were not able to take advantage of the very lovely fire pits or the 2 hot tubs because it really seemed a bit more cold than we were used to earlier in the week. We all would be excited to come back again and enjoy more family time, meals and games that were played at the Octagon home. The beds were also very comfy and amazing by the way. It was a GREAT!!

WEATHER WAS RAIN AND WIND FRIDAY AND SATURDAY. SAT NIGHT BEAUTIFUL 3/4 MOON CLEAR SUNDAY FABULOUUS VIEWS. COMFORTABLE ACCOMADATIONS, WE ALSO HAD THE STUDIO OUR GROUP WAS ABOUT 18 WITH 3 STAYING AT RECTORS HOUSE IN GALENA TERRITORY ALL MEALS AND MEETINGS IN HOUSES.

Very impressed with our stay at this property. The Octagon house has a wonderful view of the surrounding valley and cozy living room where our large group was able to gather. There are plenty of beds, bathrooms, showers to go around. We also loved the hot tubs! There is also a cozy outdoor firepit area that we would have loved to use had we had more time. Close enough to Galena as well to be an easy drive into town and back. Would definitely stay again!

We had a great time in the Octagon house and Caspian house. We also ate meals in the Art Studio. We enjoyed a campfire. We had great catch and release fishing in the pond. We played frisbee golf and then played baseball at the baseball field. We enjoyed seeing all of the animals. The Owner’s club was great for swimming. This a perfect getaway for our family.

We held our family reunion at the Octagon and Caspian Houses. We used the Octagon House as the primary entertainment venue and the Caspian House for older family members who wanted to get some quiet from time-to-time. Both houses were large and very comfortable. We loved sitting on the porch of the Octagon House watching the sunset. The Art Studio was great for watching movies in large groups and intense games of table tennis. The ranch itself provided some entertainment with the 9 hole milk can golf course, frisbee golf, animals, and hiking trails. The ranch sits about 20 minutes outside of Galena, which is a cute town with lots of shopping and dining options. The owners and ranch hand were very friendly and helpful. All-in-all, it was perfect for our family reunion and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet place to gather.

We celebrated our New Year holiday with our family. Covid took its toll on our celebration, but those that could attend had a wonderful time. We will come back and recommend this compound to others. Thanks so much, CB

Nice stay at the octagon and caspian. Mark was terrific to work with. Property is amazing. Great views - trails galore. Kids fell in love with the art studio - a great place to gather. Use of owners club and pools was easy. It is a workng ranch with on-site animals and plenty of trails. Bring appropriate shoes and clothes to take advantage of the property! Terrific place for family to gather.

The experience overall was very disappointing! For a property you pay a significant amount for you expect a lot more. Some good things: the views from the front deck, the studio was newer and a nice place to gather had a ping pong table & large tv, the beds were comfortable, the owners clubhouse/pool was great(off site). The negatives: could benefit from exterminator services had to deal with mice at the octagon house & large spiders at the caspian home, no air conditioning in the octagon basement, the hot tub, grills, ovens & decks were not clean, some furniture is very run down, there were no instructions for checking in & out or WiFi, passes to owners club were not in the house as indicated. The activities that are supposed to be be part of the location are not as listed, can’t fish unless you have a four wheel drive. Save yourself a lot of heart ache and book a different location. Have rented many times through vrbo and this is the first time that I have given less than 4 stars. We do have photos & text messages if there are any questions.

We celebrated my grandmother's 80th birthday with our entire family and this spot was amazing! Between the two houses there was plenty of space for all 20 of us and the recreation room was the perfect location for a party! Highly recommended!

Love this place! Stayed last June as well. Mark is easy to coordinate with and very accomodating! Last june he took myself and my 3 kiddos down the hill of his ranch to show us some future plans and the cattle he had roaming. Fun pass time. This trip, however i returned with 12 of my closest friends and family for a golf trip. We stayed in caspian and octogan. More than enough room! Each house with hot tube and ping pong, several grills and plenty of gathering space to enjoy our king crab and prime rib dinners! The fires and decks each night were so peaceful and scenic. Venture down the hill north of caspian and you may just find a few dozen nice golf balls. We were enticed by the nearly 400 yard downhill shot from the fire pit area to a rum bucket flag stick! Fun weekend will visit again.

This property was ideal for the type of wedding the couple envisioned. 2 houses close together (1 for the groom's family and 1 for the bride's) with the Art Studio for the celebration dinner. The ceremony was on the grassy lawn of the Octagon House with a beautiful view (and sunsets). Fire pits for smores' and sparklers. It was up to us to make all the arrangements but it all went well. Thank you Mark and Joe.

Great property to spend a long weekend. Close to Galena and plenty of space to prepare and serve food to large group.

We had a great time. The place was clean and organized. The view was amazing. Great place to get away. Had no issues with Communication. Would definitely recommend.

The location was amazing ! Great views of the sunsets and hillsides . House layout was very nice - a large family room on the main floor and lower lever . We could all be together or split up and there was plenty of room . Beds were really comfortable. Very good quality linens and towels . Mark and Joe were easy going and friendly. Hot tub was simple to use and fun for all. A couple of quick things would have made things a little better - several electrical outlets didn’t seem to work on the main floor. There were a few burned out lightbulbs. Would have been wonderful to have several large serving bowls and a couple of cookie sheets for preparing and serving meals to a big group- but we made do and had a wonderful time . Would certainly go back again.

The set up was perfect for our family gathering; plenty of private bedrooms / bathrooms, indoor space for the kids to hang out late without disturbing others, and outdoor space for family activities or just to sit and relax. The trails, animals, and baseball diamond on the property left us with plenty to do. We had fantastic views of beautiful sunsets and enjoyed evenings around the fire pit . Nearby attractions of the Galena territory were an added benefit.

Outstanding property! We used it for thanksgiving trip and everyone enjoyed. We had 24 adults in our group and the space was more than enough to hang. The property is large with an amazing kitchen, BBQ and dining area. The property owner Mark was easily to talk and the hand Joe was very nice and helpful. Loved it and highly recommend this place!

Property manager Joe was very nice and helpful. We would have liked to have made available a short written guide on what is expected of us as renters such as dishes and laundry. We wanted to leave with peace of mind knowing that we met some guidelines. Would like the on site amenities be listed separate of the Galena Territory available amenities which are a few miles away. Believe that upgrades are needed for this price point. The rental did accommodate our large group of 20 plus.

We had a great time with our large group staff retreat! Loved it and highly recommend this place!
