Staff were very friendly and went out of their way to help us with a car park in when we arrived late at night. Clean, comfortable room and excellent breakfast by the pool.

Liked:
Room: Good air con, lovely balcony with pool view.
Dining: Excellent breakfast & dinner buffets. (Greek yoghurt with fresh honeycomb, chicken cacciatore, roasted asparagus, wonderful cake selection). Pool menu: good chicken gyros, avocado salad.
Evening dining area: beautiful romantic atmosphere.
Pool: Lots of sunbeds, relaxing chillout music, refreshing pool big enough for several people. Poolside coffee came with biscuits. In the heat of the day we were offered complimentary fruit-infused water.
Going out: Buses to Knossos & Archaeological Museum leave nearby. Staff were happy to recommend a sports bar & beach.
Customer service: Staff usually approachable & eager to please & if we had a problem Anna & her management team went out of their way to apologise & make things better.
Didn’t like:
Full-board lunch being a 3-course meal; would have preferred the lighter pool menu.
Very laid-back food service in 2nd floor restaurant & by the pool; the quality of the food usually made it worth the wait but it would have been a more 5-star experience if it had arrived sooner.
Staff being defensive in response to minor complaints. It would have been better if all staff were as open to feedback as the management team.
Final comment: Despite a couple of small issues, overall we really enjoyed ourselves at the Galaxy Hotel & we’d easily recommend it to family & friends; it’s a beautifully designed, relaxing place with attentive staff, lovely food & a decent pool.

The property is not very well located, about a 25 min walk to the main city center.
Everything in the hotel area was nice and service was good, good buffet breakfast with attentive staff.
The rooms need some updating and are a bit small.

Amazing stay and regretfully we didn’t stay longer than one night in Heraklion. The hotel is a 10 min walk to the port which is really lovely. The hotel is fantastic and the breakfast was superb, although we had to abruptly rush out after 15 min because we had a flight change and needed to rush. We will come again and stay longer to enjoy the amenities more next trip!

I loved everything about this hotel from the fantastic breakfast to the outdoor cafe. The building is in a good location with quick access to many cafes and bakeries. The location seemed very safe with access to ATMs. The staff was polite and helpful and our room was exceptionally clean. It’s also easy walking distance to city center.

An excellent hotel in Heraklion about 10 minutes from the port and the hotel. Konstantina checked us in and she was wonderful and friendly. The room although a little small was very comfortable and well appointed. The free breakfast at this hotel was simply outstanding - from the variety to the presentation - something i looked forward to every morning. Location was great - about 1 km walk to the main Iraklio city center / square where all the action is. The hotel is also 10 minutes from the port,
10 minutes from the airport and about 10 minutes from Knossos palace (which is a must-see in Crete). They have a really nice bar on the reception level that is open late if you want to wind down after a long day of sightseeing with a drink (or many). All in all, excellent hotel and excellent staff - highly recommend!

Property look great. But when we arrived there was no electricity and the day was almost 40 Celsius. No Aircondition. No Internet and I needed to checking my flight. I had to look for another place.

This was a very convenient hotel for our one night stay in Iraklio before a ferry trip the next day. The beds were decent and everything was very clean. The room was a bit small/tight for maneuvering around so perhaps not recommended for larger folks or folks with lots of luggage.

Wonderful breakfast, lovely room. A bit of mix up regarding city tax that was collected upon checking in and again at check out. No one informed us the tax was per night. I would have thought all taxes would have been collected at check in.

Very nice hotel with great rooms and lovely amenities. We really enjoyed our three night stay at the Galaxy. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the buffet breakfast the best we’ve had on our travels with so much fresh produce and warm food options. Good location with a short walk (15 min) to the old town, also the ‘hop on hop off’ bus stops straight outside the hotel.

The staff was very friendly and helpful! When I arrived on an extremely hot day I was dripping with sweat after walking from the bus station. The concierge offered me a "refreshing towel" to wipe my face off and honestly, it was the highlight of my 3 weeks in Crete. They answered any questions I had. I needed to mail some postcards and they had stamps for sale and mailed them for me, saving me from having to walk around and figure that out. They had a cab to the airport waiting for me at 6am on my departure day which was a huge stress relief. The room was great, big, clean and air conditioned. Breakfast was beautiful and delicious. I only had a few minutes to spend in the pool but it was nice. It seems to only get sun on it for a couple of hours since there are buildings surrounding it but it didn't matter since it was so hot outside and I didn't need to get sunburnt anyways. The location was convenient. Plenty of dining options nearby and also a short and pleasant walk to the city center (maybe 20 mins). Part of that walk is through a relaxing park with a nice place to get coffee. Would definitely stay here again! Do it!

Nice smart, clean hotel. Breakfast good. Room was good size. However, my room was facing the main road outside and you could hear traffic most of the day and night.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. The breakfast was fantastic, and the location was good, less than a 15 minute walk to the city center. Really had a North American hotel feel to it, particularly the rooms. Pool was closed for cleaning unfortunately, but all in all, we didn't have any issues. Only about 10 minutes or so from the airport, so very convenient

Large comfortable room with very good breakfast buffet with plenty of choice. There is a small car park around the back but you need to ask in reception for them to open the barrier for you.
