Everything is old and worn in this hotel. Doubt it is 5 star hotel. Room was cleaned every day but that does not help if carpet and wallpaper is not changed in years. Towels were clean but worn, thin and discolored after many years of use. First day shower was not working, but repaired next day. Streets are not very walkable, but luckily hotel provides shuttle bus to Sorento, although I would like to be more often.

The Grand Hotel La Pace is visually beautiful. It is located just outside Sorrento and provides regular shuttle service to and from Sorrento. The service is formal and helpful. We enjoyed our stay.

Good facilities but a little old-fashioned. Carpets need to be replaced. Breakfast buffet is basic; maybe more Italian standard than IRL/UK version. Staff very helpful and willing. Location is not ideal. Shuttle is a life-saver although times need to be more frequent as walking to Sorrento is quite hazardous due to lack of footpaths ( definitely not fault of hotel!)

Nice hotel, helpful staff - BUT it needs updating badly. Needs new sunloungers and umbrellas by the pool, new towels in the rooms, better dinner options, etc.

A very enjoyable holiday in this excellent hotel. Friendly and efficient staff headed by the terrific maître d'hôtel Giovanni who always greeted us with a smile at the bar & restaurant. Well done. I would recommend this hotel to any traveller.

Very grand interiors. Nice bars - excellent staff and good food in the restaurant. We had probably the worst rooms in the hotel 201 and 202. But even these were spacious and comfortable - though no view at all (we looked directly at a wall!) None the less we were really close to the pool area which was convenient. We thought the restaurant was lovely with good and varied, tasty food. Wine is provided as part of the all-in package: in our view the White was a bit grim; the Red was OK and the Prosecco actually quite good. The shuttle bus is really helpful to get in and out of town - as taxis really expensive. Public transport, is very cheap. The hotel gym is nice but would benefit from heavier free-weights or some weight based machines to complement the cardio equipment. All the staff were helpful - but bar staff in particular were good and made lots of entertaining cocktails (all part of the inclusive deal - great!!) Overall a good experience.

We knew the room would not have a sea view, however pidgeon poo was not the view we extpected - on the window cill and on all the surfaces of the timbers supporting the not started demolition project next door. When asked if we could swop rooms we were advised "we are full, please ask tomorrow morning", and then advised "we are full, please ask this evening". We overheard this same stuck record message given to 6 other couples, so well rehersed! Suggest you check which rooms are being offered for sale before committing - not good PS final photo is the damp above the door....

When we arrived they told us there were no rooms available even though we had confirmed reservations! Rooms had been organized for us at the nearby Hotel Alimuri which was very good, beach-front location although further from Sorrento, and full board at the same price as the Grand Hotel. Somebody messed up but I believe we got a good deal in compensation.

Shower head sorely needed changing. etc etc. Amenities equivalent to what you get at 3-4 star hotels. Set up for all-inclusive, so having a small meal a-la-carte was difficult. No English channels on TV, only Italian. This is acceptable at a 3 star hotel, but not at a 5-star. I could write more.......

Overall a really pleasant stay. It could've been made better by providing tea, coffee making facilities in the room. The evening meal was of a really high standard. Enjoy your stay....

Absolutely fantastic! Management and staff were amazing! Only thing to avoid is the excursion to Isle of Capri! Do not book one through hotel- was terrible! Book another company! Please understand the hotel book through an external agent! Everything else was perfect!

We had a very lovely stay at La Pace. The staff was available, efficient, courteous, and accommodating. As my husband and I were taking my parents on this trip to the Amalfi Coast, the hotel and rooms were extremely comfortable for their needs and likes and they were very happy. (We probably would have chosen more of a boutique hotel that was more modern.) That said, both of our rooms were bumped up to suites which was very sweet indeed. Breakfast was plentiful but could have had some healthier alternatives and some variation from day to day. The woman making omelettes practically seemed like she was a zombie. The staff at the front desk was extremely helpful and answered every question or met every request quickly, effectively and with a smile. The hotel could really garner another star if they put a little more effort into it. There was a bit of a dowdy feel if you looked around a bit. The carpets throughout really should be replaced, the spa area was positively depressing (not that we were there for a spa experience), the deck around the pool was desperately in need of repair or refurbishment. Like I said, this was a good hotel and a very good value for the money. But, with just a bit of thought and effort this could have been a truly luxurious experience and it wouldn't have taken a lot to make that happen.

Good hotel with free shuttle to downtown Sorrento.

First look from the outside, the hotel looks as a palace as well as the lobby. The staff at the information desk were very nice and all smiles and very polite. Rooms are comfortable but when you open the window, all you see is a house in ruins with plants growing everywhere, like a haunted house. I mean they could have planted some trees to hide this macabre sight. These rooms were advertised as mountain view. Since our rooms were underneath the restaurant, we knew when it closes. You can hear all the chairs and tables moving around 11/midnight. The worst was the breakfast. Very little choice, worthy of a 1 star hotel. Ham, one choice of cheese, diluted orange juice, eggs, pancakes, cookies and everything related. Half the time, coffee pot was empty and had to ask to fill it. The staff at the restaurant were loud speaking to each other. They do their job like they were underpaid. The hotel is 15 minutes walk to downtown but since its on a hill, its tiring to walk back at night. They have a free shuttle bus that always shows on time as scheduled. The reason we chose this hotel was because its a five stars and it has a parking lot.

Great hotel, fabulous pool, hotel generally feels like it needs some money spent on it, public areas are a little dated, suite we had was excellent, massive room.

Whilst the hotel is beautiful and set in a lovely, if inaccessible location, it could do with some TLC in certain areas. The pool area in particular urgently needs attention with rotten decking and in general disrepair letting down what is an otherwise stunning setting.5 stars is definitely flattering.Reception staff excellent friendly and helpful and the hotel is very clean impressive and set in beautiful surroundings.Despite its impressive facade and lovely setting I wouldnt recommend the location for people with mobility issues as the walk from town to the hotel set in this hills is quite an arduous one albeit the regular shuttle to the main town of Sorrento (some 1 mile away is a godsend).

Staff unbelievably friendly and welcoming. Stunning entry to hotel, dining areas beautiful but corridor carpets worn, some of the pool area a little tired and bathrooms could do with updating. Shuttle super to and from Sorrento (with a taxi costing minimum €25 highly advised!) but unfortunately this did map out your day a little as you worked around shuttle times. Wifi terrible! Food was great both at breakfast and evening meal. A nice stay

Room 101 next to breakfast room very noisy from 6-45am. Bed & pillows very hard. Bar expensive. Pool service good. Old fashioned style. Location not great 10 mins walk down hill to town.

Poor hotel

Our stay was not pleasant at all. We had 2 rooms both of them facing a very old and ugly wall which was literally 2-3 meters away. The rooms are old and generally only the lobby of the hotel is nice this is a tired hotel in need of refurbishment. Breakfast is not good at all. The staff were friendly and tried to be helpful but the shortcomings are from the hotel management.

Not a four star!! Food shocking and breakfast less than satisfactory!! No hot food after 9:30! May have been because the place was half empty! No atmosphere! Rather a large palatial building!

We enjoyed the hotel facilities and food. We used the hotel bus to visit Sorrento which was very handy and convenient.

This hotel is in a quiet residential area. They have a good shuttle bus service. The breakfast was nice with plenty of selection, and the service fantastic. It's very upmarket in places but the condition of the rooms, balcony and carpets is more fitting of a four star hotel. I loved Sant'Agnello but would stay closer to the beach next time.
