Bed bugs everywhere in all the rooms

The TV did not work in the room I was staying.

Ive been staying there every time im in Glasgow for about 20 years and have found no reason to not stay there , always comfortable with a lovely breakfast in the morning. Thanks

I expected basic board due to what I paid,so that was fine. The problem I had was the room was cold,the radiator wasn't on and l could not get it to work.Also the window could do with replacing and maybe cushion the sides of the bed or make it stable

Great location, minutes away from Kelvingrove park. Buses virtually outside the hotel, great for getting into the centre. Friendly staff and a good value breakfast.

Beds were awful. They were visibly saggy. They looked like they should belong in a room rented by the hour. There was a bad smell in the hallways. Location was nearby bars and restaurants.

Absolutely vile.
Single room is extremely small - just enough width for a bed making getting in and out of it difficult.
Bedding had not been changed and staff very disinterested when this was mentioned - though did offer to change room - however by that point i had ended up changing bedding myself.
Dining room was empty and in darkness at breakfast time - Staff looked surprised when i went down for breakfast so i took that as a bad omen and decided not to risk it

This place is very out dated, the shower was leaking, beds are very uncomfortable, you can hear everything from the next room even people talking to each other , the boiler is so noisy we couldn’t sleep

My families stay was very pleasant. Ive stayed at smithes before and always been pleasant. Staff cant be anymore helpful. Breakfasts there if you want. Everything you need is round about or not far away. Perfect location

The day to day cleaning was ok. Really needs a deep clean. The visible dust inside radiators, down the sides of beds etc is rather off putting. Needs some thorough elbow grease.

It was a very small room, very basic. The shower room was new but a cheap style shower in place that you had to hold by hand as it wouldnt stay in position
Sheets not particularly good quality and the bed was lumpy. For a place to lay your head for the night, it was adequate

Place is affordable but basically the quality you’d accept of a youth hostel.
Could be cleaner. Whole place needs to be painted, refreshed and lamps, etc repaired/replaced. Only one towel in the room and no floor mat or shampoo.
Fine if you don’t care about the quality and just need a cheap room.
That said, for what it was, I’d say the price should actually be half.
If we go budget again we’ll use a chain hotel.

It was horrible. The towels were dirty, same with the window blinds..The shower so small compartment. We were not happy at all and had to book the Jury’s Inn hotel which was much more better and made our holiday worthwhile.

Smiths Hotel was cheap and cheerful. We were looking for somewhere to get our heads down after a night out in Glasgow and it was perfect for that! Bed was clean, towels were clean and toilet was clean so you can’t really ask for much more for such a fantastic price! Staff were friendly enough with a 24hr reception which would have been handy if we had needed anything during the night (which we didn’t). Vending machine for late night snacks and breakfast included. Would definitely return for a cheap night’s stay!

The Hotel is in a great location at the heart of a confluence of restaurants, bars, shops and tourist sites. Really good value for money.

Nice large triple room with comfortable beds. The decor & furniture was very old fashioned it was like a throwback to the 70’s. The hotel is dull & needs to be brightened up with a lick of paint & brighter coloured curtains & bed covers. Breakfast was cheap value sausages & bacon and the eggs didn’t have a runny yolk! Staff were polite & helpful.

Very uncomfortable bed and very basic breakfast. Minimal car parking at rear on Sat evening, accessible along very wet, muddy lane. Friendly and smiley receptionists cant really make up run-down premises. However, free on-street parking from 6pm Sat till 8am Mon was helpful.

This is the smallest hotel room I have ever had the misfortune to stay in. It was obvious that it was designed as a single room, however, with a very small double bed placed in it, it became a double room. It was a very tight squeeze having two people in the room. There were 2 towels - 1 large and one small - were we expected to share? I had to request another towel. This was not a mistake on the hotels part as our friends, who were in the next room, had the same experience. The car park was muddy, full of holes and very dirty with lots of litter. This hotel is way, way over priced. Not good value for money.

My room tv did not work. the night receptionist (it was 9pm) refused to either fix or call anyone to do so. not a good beginning.
my bedside light also did not work, nor was fixed during my stay.
non suite rooms were subject to separate toilet and shower rooms, not convenient.
washhand basin in my room had 2 taps, one of which did not work, the other which was marked hot, only delivered cold.
All in all not a happy experience, although, for the grade of hotel, the breakfast was fine.
