Our party of three has an excellent stay! The hosts were lovely, and the room and amenities were spotless and well appointed and decorated. Pride of ownership was evident. The continental in room breakfast was stunning and arrived exactly on time. Would recommend to anyone wishing for a quiet place to stay.

Chris went out of his way to make our stay enjoyable. Really kind and wonderful hosts. Excellent communication about where to find everything and how to get into the spa that was otherwise booked up. Exceedingly clean. I recommend the optional breakfast. We really had a wonderful stay.

Great welcome and very comfortable room. It's about 30 minutes' walk to the centre - more coming back up the hill.There are pubs/restaurants nearby.

A very nice place to stay. Only a short walk to the center of Bath and the train station (though it is up a fairly steep hill). The proprietors were very friendly. The room was pleasant and had a great view down a valley behind the hotel.

Stayed at the Devonshire house in December whilst the Bath Christmas markets were on. The Hotel is fantastic, even better than the pictures. We stayed in room which was very spacious and had all the facilities required including an iron & board just outside the room. The owners Louise & Chris are lovely and very accommodating. It was about a 20-25 minute walk down into Bath. I would recommend you pre book and pay the £5 / night parking as parking on the street is extremely limited. The paid parking is less than 5 minutes walk up the road. We will most definitely be returning.

Very friendly welcome from Louise on our arrival, and great advice about where we could park for free. Lovely spacious double room with comfy bed. Great location on a bus route. Bus price very reasonable at £2 for a single journey. Would recommend the £5 continental breakfast. Lovely fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereal, boiled eggs and warm rolls or croissants and jam. Great way to set you up for the day

Really pleasant guest house in a good neighbourhood with places to eat, drink and shop but also just a 10-15 minute walk from the city centre. Comfortable, clean, spacious rooms. Lovely queen size bed with top quality linen. Excellent host: friendly, informative but not intrusive. Thoroughly recommend.

This little property was delightful! The beds were incredible and we could sleep with the window open. Breakfast was SO GOOD and it was delivered to our room! We were provided with excellent tourist information. Such a wonderful experience!

Gorgeous room with tea/coffee making, large fluffy towels (and a towel warmer!!!) and bathroom creams/gels. Bed was very very comfy £5 breakfast was so good!! Highly recommend the stay, the brekkie.. everything!!

My partner and I spent the weekend at Devonshire house and Chris made us feel welcomed straight away. Our room was a standard size with en-suite and very clean. The ceiling fan in our room was a very big plus point as I do feel extremely hot during the nights due to my menopause. Our in room breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of healthy things for an excellent good start for the day. Overall we were very happy with our accommodation. Thank you Chris. Shibani

Lovely stay couldnt fault it. Comfortable bed & large ensuite with bath & shower. Very quiet even though on a main road. Plenty of on street parking and an easy walk into town & plenty of buses or £10 for a taxi. Warm welcome & special mention for the exceptional breakfast... excellent value for money. Thank you.

I stayed with my daughter 2 nights, Saturday and Sunday. The check-in was efficient, the owner Louise gave us a very warm welcome. We did arrive earlier, before 2, and weren't charged extra. Louise advised us about visiting famous places as we didn't book anything in advance. We stayed in room N1 that overlooked the main road. The room was very clean and had everything we needed. We had a great sleep, with very comfortable bed. The breakfast was brought up to our room by Chris, which a great value for £5 per person, that included healthy choices. We have enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back again. Thank you, Louise and Chris.

A very good base for a visit to Bath. Located on the outskirts of the town with on street parking. A scenic 20 mins walk into town or a quicker direct route. The walk back to The Devonshire is uphill. There is a small Tesco across the road but otherwise no other shops or restaurants without going into town. Breakfast was a 'generous continental style' which could be taken in your room or in the lounge and very reasonably priced. Our room was clean and well equipped and the bathroom and shower were also modern and clean. We would definitely consider returning if we came back to Bath

This venue stood out, from the remarkably sophisticated welcome app sent out in advance, to the genuinely affable personal welcome on arrival and the emphasis on local information to assist a stay in practical and convenient ways. The standard of cleanliness was very high and the anti-COVID measures rigorous, indeed almost excessive...is it really necessary to seal the tv remote in a plastic bag? The en-suite was very narrow, squeezed into a corner of the room, but adequate. My only observation would be that the shelf for shower gel etc. ought to be inside, not outside the cubicle, and the water pressure was weaker than some might prefer. Similarly, the bed was harder than many might prefer (although to my personal liking). The window opens and guests are even encouraged to turn down the thermostat if they wish. I did not partake of the Continental breakfast offer; there are plenty of shops nearby to meet this need. The walk into town is quite short but (beware) rather steep. Although I did not use it, I noted reasonable parking availability in the back streets, which might encourage me to drive next time, if arriving from the south, although no one in their right mind would recommend taking a car into the city centre! I'd be pleased to recommend this establishment and would stay here again.

Lovely friendly greeting, very clean, comfortable room. Very nicely laid out bed and breakfast, with a reception room to relax in.Traffic noise could be heard (I stayed in room 3, front of property onto main road) which does not bother me. Nice pub a minutes walk away, friendly staff,good food, reasonable priced. I was only returning my son to Uni, so only needed one night, but would come back to Devonshire House again, good value for money.

The rooms are clean and quiet. Beds are very comfortable with clean sheets. Bathroom is spacious with anti slip mat. Many thanks to Louise who’s always cheerful and accommodating. Had a pleasant stay & will surely visit again
