Wasn’t too obvious where to check in, another guest who was waiting outside said we needed to go into the restaurant to do it. Might have been in my confirmation but I must have missed that! Apart from that, great stay and great location

3 nights stay , clean ,comfortable and friendly hotel. All amenities around and close to clacton. Great food in the pub.

Great room. My girlfriend is disabled but as she wasn't staying over I had a basic downstairs room, which the staff sorted for me. I was there around 2pm for a check in and a nice gentleman made sure I checked in easily. Ladies managing the rooms made sure I was okay. Asked me if I needed anything. They checked I was happy. I have been here a fair few times. Pub linked to hotel does amazing carvery. Maybe get a nice meal before booking in. Being next to the pub and easy access/parking, makes this place an ideal choice for travellers. There are a fair few shops/facilities you can walk to.

We love the smugglers cove, this was a fourth visit and always enjoy our stay. Clean, comfy and close to food joints and Tescos and not far from clacton itself. Highly recommend.

Checked in. First of all care did work. Then went out of room then key didn’t work. Went back to reception. Got another 2 keys still didn’t work. I had to demand another room. First they said it was full. This happened to another guy to. Sorted on the end

Our stay at smugglers cove was very nice the room was nice and clean we had clean towels every day the room was cleaned everyday to the food was nice to lots of choice as well

We liked that the hotel was on one level also that it was close to everything that we wanted too visit, the food was lovely & the place was spotless will visit again.

Located well. Good facilities near by but the staff were slow and rude. We went in for dinner about 8 30pm and the waitress booking people looked annoyed and was rude. Then took another waitress half an hour to serve. The room itself was ok, but needed to be cleaned properly. Still had bottle tops on the floor and and dirt from previous people. The bathroom smelt funny and the aircon unit was so noisy it kept me awake.

Rooms were clean apart from what was on the wall !! Clean, fresh towels and a lovely shower. Breakfast was nice, could of been a bit more hotter and using cheap sausages let it down. No receptionist, when we arrived, i did ask for early check-in but was not put on my booking.I'd enquire twice, about this but still was not put on my booking. Some confusion about Breakfast options which left us a bit uneasy beforehand Wifi wasn't set up properly with problems connecting

Was disappointed when arrived was still left as twin bed and was supposed to be double beds were stripped but not made . Very basic room shame there wasnt as bath and to have breakfast had to ho to another building across carpark. But bed was comfortable slept well there was stain on sheet and chair and carpet needed a clean but overall was exspensive for money £126 one night

Bed very uncomfortable and hard to sleep on duvet very thin no blankets there . carvery in restaurant just warm to eat without hot gravey not eatable.need a bench outside accomodation to seat on when outside waiting .

We arrived to book in at the pub and greated by welcoming staff all friendly. When we went to our room the toilet was not clean. The next morning we had breakfast and then askwd for an ironing board as states in the entrance to request for one. The ironing board we told would be there soon. It never arrived. Bed was fine for thr value for money the bedroom was fine just not fully clean in thr bathroom which is disappointing

The rooms are very spacious and clean, the beds are very comfortable and the place is very quiet and peaceful
