Polite and professional staff at the reception. They are personable and always helpful. Room was spacious and clean. Good price value consider the e location and peak travel season.

Great property, showing a bit of aging in the carpets that need to be updated in the hallways. Hotel is in the hillside so the back of the hotel rooms have no view. Be sure to specify that you want a river view. Most of the rooms are nice and spacious with a river view, but there are smaller rooms with the rock face of the hillside that are not good at all and smelled moldy. After checking in, we went downstairs and requested other rooms which they gave us right away. The rest of the stay was awesome.

The desk staff are un amor, very kind and professionals, they care for their guests. The room we chose was huge and plenty of room for 4 luggages and the breakfast was pretty good. I highly recommend it specially if you are leaving in a cruise, as you just need to cross the street to be in the terminal, although we used Uber because we had too many bags. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our week-long stay here! The beds in the “Double” rooms are king-size by US standards, which was wonderful! The staff there was top-notch…helpful, efficient, polite, and cheerful. They graciously helped resolve a snag in our reservation so that we could get the room that we wanted and sent up a courtesy bottle of champagne as a welcome. The location of the Aurea was perfect for us…away from late-night street noise but an easy walk along the river to dining & shops. Highly recommend.

Lovely hotel, very friendly and helpful staff. Only down side is you have to book to use the pool. Meant we didn’t use it, as we couldn’t work it round our other plans.

I have never left a negative rating for a stay before but while the location and history of the venue are great, the cleanliness and staff are below average and facilities lacking. It feels as though this is a newish hotel, requesting premium prices, without the ability to offer a premium service. On the plus side, for anyone interested in history, the non affiliated historians facilitating the tours around the ruins that are housed inside the hotel are brilliant, and you can visit without being a resident.

Room spacious,quiet, staff very helpful and extra nice. What I didn’t like was the fitness center.

The check in took very very long. There were obnoxious guests at the check in who were asking numerous questions, the clerk was alone and was answering all of their questions. Normally, they should have been asked to wait after their check in is done to serve other guests. Otherwise the front office staff was friendly and helpful. We were offered welcome drinks.

This was an INCREDIBLE hotel experience. We were so happy to have stayed at this hotel after a couple not so great experiences in Portugal at hotels. From the professionalism of the staff, to the hotel itself, to the VERY comfortable beds, to the well appointed gym and amazing pool/sauna, we were blown away. This hotel responded to any inquiry Immediately, did an incredible job cleaning our room, and the front desk staff were lovely. Special shout out to Leonardo who made our stay at this hotel perfect. He is a star employee.

This was our second Aires Hotel, we weren’t disappointed. The staff was excellent, they went out of their way to make us feel welcome and gave us a great start on our adventure. Eduardo was awesome. I needed ice every night and they were happy to provide. Great facility in the heart of what was going on. Would highly recommend.

The Property was very pretty, centrally located, clean and safe. However, the best quality was the knowledgeable helpful staff!! Shout out to Katarina and Leonardo!!!!

We reached mid night at the hotel, tired and desperate to hit the bed. I requested our two rooms with a good view. To our surprise, the view from the rooms were the walls of the opposite building and worst was my husband and I were given a 2 twin bed room despite our double bed booking. Joana and Bondan were not ready to upgrade us unless we paid them the difference. They had few rooms empty but they wanted money. After many times of back and forth at midnight, they gave us a double bed room with a wall view. Terrible and thoroughly disappointed with the staff service.

Good location

We arrived late during a party month for the saints that they were celebrating in the streets next to us. We immediately requested a new room in courtyard area and they upgraded us to a master suite. We stayed there 2 nights without extra charge. They also offered a second room but I had a 10 yr old and my girlfriend so we wanted a room with a bed and couch. The staff understood and was great. Alfonso went out of his way. We stayed and extra night with just my son and I and moved rooms for a great direct rate. The breakfast was included on the third day which was very good. Staff and quality was amazing. Honestly top shelf. Wish they had a kid price of like 10–5 euros not 25 but whatever. Honestly great food healthily high quality and top shelf. I highly recommend the museum tour inside the hotel. Only offered at 10 am but really amazing!!!! Must do for free!!!! I am passing back thru Lisbon next week and will be staying before we return home there. First class but be aware of the party month of June.
