Have stayed here once before. Since that time they have made some changes to the rooms to upgrade them. Rooms are clean. It takes a while for hot water to run in the shower and the flow is week but it’s an old building.
This is a nice hotel for the price paid. Breakfast is included and of a reasonable standard. Staff are friendly.
There’s some parking and off street parking is available for free.

Very courteous and friendly staff. Big rooms. Great breakfast. Note: no lifts/elevators for those who may need them.

Staff nice. Bar and breakfast area good. Rooms a bit dated and bathrooms need a tidy up but overall for money good value. Breakfast was cooked on request and was excellent. Prob one of the best I have had in a hotel.

Enjoyed my stay here! Parking was round the back of the hotel and free :)
Really friendly staff! The room was spacious and clean. The only thing i'll say, is if you want clean towels ect you need to physically go and ask. They didnt just go into the room without permission.
I luckily had a sea view, which was stunning! Breakfast was lovely. (Full english) and juices and hot beverages available.
Water pressure for the shower isnt the best, but works to have a quick wash! :)
Overall, for the price ect i thought it was lovely and will be returning again!

Staff very welcoming. Some public areas, hall, stairs reception in need of updating. Bedroom and bathroom very clean, although furniture a bit tired. Very comfortable bed. Full English breakfast was lovely. Freshly cooked and arrived hot. Although would have liked to have had the choice of brown bread. Overall good value for money.

Good value for money, the hotel does need updating but I’m not complaining as our stay was comfortable. The shower wasn’t great and the bathroom very small but the bedroom was a good size. Breakfast was excellent. The tv in the room wasn’t great as there was no “live tv” I had to log into the iPlayer to watch anything. We did get free parking round the back. The hotel was placed in an excellent position for the town.

We very much enjoyed our stay. Esplanade Hotel was reasonably priced, with a sea view from our window. Breakfast included, but would've been better if there had been a fridge in our room, a balcony, disabled access to a room with a bath and air conditioning. Staff very polite and accommodating. We had a large room with a sea view and a nice full English breakfast in the morning... shower was a bit small and could do with a shelf in the bathroom...The Hotel is very close to the pier,amusements and shops.

Staff fantastic and very helpful, receptionist moved own car to make room for me. Big problem was music in bar under our room notified ay cheeck in would be noisy until 1am, so noisy items on bedside table jumped around from vibrations. Room was old and needs an upgrade,shower dirty and very small but at what we paid not surprising. Tv a nightmare to operate even receptionist could not sort. Would not go near the place again,feel sorry for staff who tried best with a smile.

This is a lovely up and coming property.
Yes work needs to be done , but this takes time and money. We had a big room and a comfortable nights sleep. The breakfast was plenty full and we thought good quality . The staff are lovely and were very helpful .
We will definitely stay again the next time we visit Clacton .

Room was big bed was small not enough toilet roll no extra pillows or duvet no personal touches break fast was good and parking

Check in was friendly and efficient even though a large group was arriving for a function. Room was clean and pleasant with a sea view ( a nice bonus ) and a decent size . Arriving back late in the evening staff were attentive , good humoured and helpful. Breakfast was freshly cooked and of generous proportions , once again with good natured and helpful staff.
A very pleasant experience and one I look forward to repeating next time I'm in Clacton - Well Done

Friendly staff, great location and reasonably priced.
If I had to mention 1 negative, it's that the shower in the room I had was a bit small.

This was a very pleasant experience, an older hotel well maintained and an excellent location across the street from the beach and minutes to the pier.

I only stayed 1 night and it’s the best sleep I’ve had in a hotel since I can remember checking was easy and very friendly front of house through to the room being worth far more than I paid now I’m not someone who looks for faults and none came to light as even though we was on the ground floor and at the front we heard neither the outside world or the other guests the free breakfast was lovely and the lady in the dinking/room reception was very helpful upon checkout so much so we will be returning because I just can’t fault it we stayed 25/05/24-26/05/24 in room 32 and it was well worth it so we will be returning as long as rooms are available thank you guys for a great stay

Really great view overlooking the sea and the pier was seen in the distance. Excellent choice for a bank holiday getaway from it all. Fab price.

There stay was ok bed was to small.forv2 people tv did not work very well so was poor the host was not very friendly the room was clean and ok but bed tobto small parking was ok around the back if you was lucky to find a space

The Esplanade Hotel was great value for money, (Room 32) We would highly recommend it for a comfortable night and a most amazing and enjoyable breakfast. The front desk receptionist (Lilly) was very helpfull.

This was a cheap seaside hotel and my expectations were not high. However on arrival it was clear they had made an effort to modernise the decor. The bar area was fresh and welcoming. Check in was friendly and efficient. Parking advice given. The rooms were pleasant and clean, bed was comfy and plenty of hot water if you ran the shower for a few minutes first. Staff were friendly and the breakfast was piping hot and excellent. It by far exceeded my expectations.
Definitely very good value for money given the included breakfast. Hence the high star rating.
Would return if in the area again.

The hotel receptionist was very friendly and helpful. The room was very worn out, the bed was very small and the pillows were virtually non exsistant . The shower tray didn’t drain away.
WiFi is very eratic dropping in and out .

The hotel is on the Sea Front within walking distance of the Pier but far enough away to avoid the noise..Our room was nice and bright with a lovely sea view to wake up to. The bed was lovely and soft
It was nice to have a Fire-stick in the TV with a variety of channels to watch including Netflix and Prime
lastly the hotel served a nice full English breakfast to get the day going.Overall exceptional value for money
will definitely book again

Really friendly and helpful staff. Made me feel really welcome. Room was lovely, i would have stayed longer if i could. When i entered my room you could smell the cleanliness of it. I had a lovely sea view. Breakfast was large. And again had the sea view while eating breakfast. Overall i had a lovely stay.
