Wonderful stay! Great staff, great view, very nice room! A little bit untidy in places due to ongoing upgrade work, but once the renovations are complete this will be an even more awesome hotel!

Location, location, location! That's what drew me to this hotel, but unfortunately, that's where the excitement ends. The 'resort' name is a stretch - it's more like a budget motel. Picturesque online images don't reflect reality. This place needs serious renovation (which, thankfully I think, is underway). For now, expect: - Uncomfortable, hard-spring beds (think sore mornings) - Limited parking (be prepared to walk from down the street, not ideal with little ones especially after sunset) - Sketchy vibes (not what you'd expect from a 'resort') - The area photographed with the chairs and fire pit was not big enough to accommodate the people here, maybe 10 at the most. -Ac didn’t cool enough and made weird noises all night -Shower was not working properly and made loud noises, water would come out of the top and bottom Silver linings: - Soft sheets and pillows - Prime location near the water - Bathroom has complimentary “dove” shampoo, body wash, conditioner, lotion and hand soap. Definitely feels like that king dollar dove though, if you know what I mean. -Live band on site Don't get me wrong, potential is there. Renovations might transform this place. Until then, set realistic expectations. *Price doesn't match quality.* Consider alternatives. *Rating:* 1/10 *Recommendation:* Wait for renovations or choose another option, San Luis hotel next door was literally cheaper and looked 100000% better than this. They were doing renovation, much needed, far from 8.2 this place is not good for being top 3 most expensive hotels in Galveston. Smelly old rooms over all everything's is old. Front desk people are friendly and nice

Great location on the Seawall. We had a first floor room which was like a motel style, parking outside the door area. Don’t mind those but not at the price point we paid for the room. Room was tired looking but clean. Busy pool but nice area to sit and have a pool snack and drinks. Great pool service. Average hotel, ok for our one night stay.

Air conditioning unit was as loud as a portable generator. Main elevator was broken so you had to walk completely around the building exiting through multiple doors to get to the 1 working set. When I tried to speak to staff about our entire family not being able to sleep due to the faulty AC unit which stayed at a cool 80 degrees the cool “sassy” sarcastic employee who I wasn’t even conversing with at the counter made sure to chime in with rude comments throughout my conversation. Nothing was done, a sorry about that was what we left with. NEVER booking there again. Simply because of they staff lack of experience.

This resort was awesome! They had live music each night and a fun DJ at the poolside! Lots of interactive things to do and the view was gorgeous! Sam in the Jetty was so tender and took care of us when we dined in! Cole was a fast slinging bartender, honest and gave great suggestions for new beer to try! Such a magical stay. Will return. Just not through Expedia

The staff were friendly. They just need some updates to the rooms. My AC unit squeaked and squeeled all night. The ceiling in the bathroom constantly flakes off getting white specks on anything you leave in there. The location was great. The pool was fun.

For starters, at check-in they tried to charge us an additional incidental fee for each of the 2 nights. We explained that the room, parking, and incidental had been paid that morning even tho we had selected to pay at arrival- peculiar to select pay at hotel but force us to pay earlier in the day to keep our reservation, per their policy as they stated. A different staff member stepped in to look over the reservation to see all had been paid. We selected for the balcony with a view, apon entering our room the door to the balcony was screwed shut and the scaffolds from the construction were in front of our window. That was not the view we were looking forward to nor not having access to the balcony. The shower/bathtub combo did not drain well, stood in water well past ankle deep. There was loud commotion, hollering, cussing from other guests outside of our room- lasted about 10 minutes. No hotel staff calmed the situation and the following day other guests complained of the disgruntle guests. At checkout we inquired compensation due to not being able to use our balcony as we paid over $600 for 2 nights. They removed the 2 $10 parking fees…. needless to say we will not stay at this location again.

Check in was easy and the attendant was very nice. The room was very clean, super comfy pillows and clean sheets! We had everything we needed with the beach across the street!

I did like where my room was and the smell outside. I paid too much for my room to have this experience. I was very disappointed in my room and this is not the first time that we have stayed there

Great staff and amazing pool and pool side bar open in the afternoon-evening only. Hotel has nice family restaurant with reasonable prices and great food. Breakfast is not included in the price of the room. Walking distance to the shops and restaurants, Rainforest Caffe is next door. Right on the beach. Unfortunately rooms are in poor condition, need renos badly but also not clean, filthy bathrooms and bedsheets not changed after previous guests!! When reception sees reservations made on Expedia the worst rooms are assigned. Ours was above entrance roof with huge noisy AC units and restaurant vents blowing hot air right into our window, could not really use the balcony at all and there was weird smell. If you book through online travel sites check your room first before moving all your luggage in. Little convenience store advertised in the hotel description was always closed, there were no activities for the kids, not even a movie. Games room and little arcade room was open so at least something fun for the kids. Also despite great beach there are no swimming signs almost everywhere in Galveston and water quality is very poor. So recommend Swimming only in the pool which is really great at this hotel.
