Since we arrived the hotel staff tried to upcharge everything. High floor, $100. Resort fee of $45, but they don’t have resort-type amenities. Got a late check out and they called me to ask why i was still in the room. Nobody asked if i had a pleasant stay. I’m not used to a 5 star hotel having a 3 star me persona. Actually 3 star hotels are a lot more accomplished.

Sharlene was very sweet and helpful.

We paid extra to have a park view and it was simply amazing. The entire staff was exceptionally warm, friendly and knowledgeable.

Gorgeous historic property

Wonderful location right near Central Park, walkable to time square and surrounding touristy things. The doormen are wonderful and helpful. Only complaint was none of the ice machines in the entire building worked, the front desk sent us on a chase up and down floors to look for ice. The key card wouldn’t work on most floors so we had to use the stairs to go and find ice, in a heatwave. And never did end up getting any ice. The mini fridge in our room was stocked and warm so we weren’t even able to use those. Other than that the hotel is beautiful and well situated the rooms are larger than other hotels in the area and they had big soaker bath tubs which are a rarity in the city and lovely after a long day of walking.

It was close to good dining, Central Park, and plenty of subway stations to explore other parts of the city. The room met our needs and expectations. It was a great place to relax after a great day of visiting NYC landmarks!

Great location near the park. We stayed for 7 nights and were treated like very well by the staff. Everyone was kind and welcoming. I would highly recommend this property.

Beautiful historical hotel right across from Central Park. Would stay there again.

The staff was excellent!! I read reviews specifically stating that the staff was "underwhelming" and "would not accommodate" nor "care." But my experience was marvelous. Everyone from valet, checking-in/out, elevator rides, concierge, dining, the BAR, the restaurant hostess, just EVERYONE was friendly, welcoming, and eager to ensure I was having a great time at all times. They were so complimentary every time I walked through the lobby. No one ever pointed nor "man-explained" but would escort me to where I needed to. I wish the showers were glass vs curtain and the late-night menu stayed open another hour or two.

Our floors ice machine was down. Everything else fantastic.
