Great hotel right in town with a secure parking lot. Tons of dining options all within 5 minutes or less walking. The hotel also has a great restaurant with breakfast included. Luis was a joy every morning and ready with cocktails in the evening. The staff were wonderful, and helped set up reservations for excursions. A frog garden is located in the back of the hotel along the river, where we found some beautiful tree frogs. Only downside was our shower didn’t drain well. Other than that, no complaints!

The property was very clean. The room was just the right size with a nice shower. The restaurant served delicious complementary breakfasts and their dinner menu was delicious also.

We found our 2 night stay perfect for the location and proximity to the attractions we were headed too. The free breakfast included was a great touch and plenty of restaurants to walk too nearby. Quiet hotel for being on a main road and security onsite after hours.

We had an amazing time at this hotel. It was clean, well maintained and safe. The staff were very generous and let us check in early since the room was ready. The breakfast was cooked to order and very good. The restaurant had a beautiful view and we saw many animals down by the river in the gardens. The location was perfect - very close to the Parque Central, restaurants, supermarkets, pharmacy and anything else you could possibly need. They also have an ice machine! The only issue was that the wifi was quite slow at times. 10/10 would recommend ;)

Loved my stay at the Monte Real. Perfect walking distance to the town square, but not too close to be loud at night. Right next to a river that has beautiful birds visiting every morning. The pool was great and the rooms were very clean and comfortable. Highly recommend!

Very friendly, helpfull staff. They booked us on tours with Cano Aventura, a very good tour company.

All facilities in hotel were good. Staff from reception being helpful in every respect to maid service being really good. One suggestion would be to install a grab bar in shower area for safety Free breakfast was ok but dinner at night was excellent.

A great place to stay. A big plus is the little river right beside the restaurant and sitting areas. The river was scenic and relaxing to listen to and provided wildlife sightings. Tiger herons, toucans, parrots, big King Fishers, two otters and several huge green iguanas, a mother sloth and her baby were all on the beautiful grounds of this hotel. The restaurant at the hotel is right beside the river; a wonderful place to eat. Besides the good breakfast which was included; the restaurant was also open for lunch and dinner. It was closed on Tuesday for lunch and dinner when we were there but I am not sure if this is a regular closure. We appreciated having the restaurant on site when it was pouring rain as we did not have a car. Even though there were several restaurants close by we did not want to get wet. The staff in the restaurant was wonderful; they were always looking for wildlife to show you. Location is great, close to everything. The easy hop shuttle stops right in front of the hotel. We had a junior suite with 1 king bed and while our room had a great view of the volcano it did not have an outdoor sitting area like most other rooms. The sitting area was inside and even though there were huge sliding doors to open I prefer to actually sit outside. The grounds of the hotel are beautiful and it is amazing just to see all the vegetation. We loved our stay here!

Lovely small property, super clean and well cared for. Breakfast included which was from a full menu and delicious coffee. Modern decor in room, very spacious bathroom and shower. King bed which was average in terms of comfort. Walking distance to many restaurants and short drive to many attractions. We really enjoyed our 3 night stay!
