Everything about this location was a bonus.. the room, I received an upgrade, the team was outstanding and made me feel appreciated and welcome. I truly enjoyed the extra care and support.

A little loud but not a problem from the adjacent property offering late night music. I was not expecting the noise, but now I know that if I want to be in the happening zone, this is it!

The location Front desk and housekeeping staff were helpful and friendly.

The bar and dining room staff were very unfriendly and rude.

Some Rooms too close to onsite bar and performance stage which was super loud at night and I couldn’t sleep. 🫤

We had a beautiful stay. The owners are very nice and helpful. I loved our room that looked out on the beach and was steps from it (King Suite, Ocean View) . The bed was firm and very comfortable, the pillows were nice - not too flat, not too puffy. The view was amazing, and we could see the sunset from our bed. The room was spacious with a great bathroom with a wonderful separate shower that is a rain shower square and a handheld in the shower and there was also a tub with jets and a personal sprayer. We didn't use the tub, but it looked amazing. I also liked the little kitchen, though we didn't cook in the room on the two day stay. Just used the refrigerator to keep drinks cold. They had all the pots and pans, mugs and bowls and plates, silverware and utensils. I think I could have cooked in there, if I brought all the food with me. I didn't see any spices at all. They had nice beach towels, though we didn't use them because basically our room was on the beach, plus I didn't want them to get stolen if I left them out, plus we could just walk to our room out of the water. Our room came with the included breakfast, and they were yummy -- I had the Vegan Traditional Jamaican Breakfast both days and my boyfriend had the Traditional Jamaican Breakfast but was basically the same as mine, because they didn't have the ackee and saltfish. The food is cooked to order, so if you are looking for quick fast food, it may take a bit and cause you to get upset that you have to wait. This property is right in the middle of lots of other great properties with bars and restaurants nearby. We walked up to the street and had dinner at a small restaurant across the main street and a bit up to the right. Not far and good food. $2,600 Jamaican with no alcohol - just food.

I recommend getting some signage of where the office is for Roots Cafe vs Roots Bamboo. Both are in the same driveway, but it isn't clear where to go once you park or if we were even in the right place. Staff was friendly but the bartender I had could only make the drinks on the menu. She did improvise for me once I seemed a little confused, but she said "No" first. The same thing happened when I asked for bacon at the free breakfast, that waitress said "no" because it didn't come with the specific breakfast I chose. But then I said I would pay for it, but I was never given a price until the meal was over of $775 Jamaican for 2 pieces of bacon. I will say, the waitress ended up paying for it, but didn’t tell me, and at the end of our stay, when I tipped her for breakfast and asked about paying for the bacon, she told me it was taken care of, so I gave her extra tip. It would be helpful for them to have prices for any additions a guest with an included breakfast may order. Our room didn't have any glasses, which I found weird. I assumed they get broken often and you probably have to ask for them, but we just used the mugs for our drinks. I loved being on the beach, but if you are a person who needs sleep on the weekday nights and some weekend nights, I don't recommend having the rooms right on the water or close to the water because there is music playing from Woodstock next door and some nights at Roots itself. I felt like I didn't sleep until 3-4 AM and it is like they are in your room. I am not a spring chicken dancing until dawn, so this was hard for me to not get good sleep.
