Hiro is a very friendly and helpful host. He gave me lifts to various locations and was really keen to make sure that my trip was successful. The property is very clean with great views of the mountains, yet it is close enough with excellent bus connections, to get easily into the centre of Kyoto. The location was perfect for me as I was visiting my son who is studying at the university for a year.

I never worked out how to make the hobs work on the stove, but it didn't matter as the microwave and mini oven filled all my needs.

We were in Kyoto for a conference so the Yadoya Lodge was ideal for being close to the International Conference Center. There are 3 bus lines just a few steps from the front door. One of the buses took us to the Conference Center's entrance. The lodge itself is so unique...quirky, eclectic, has so much more character and is so much more interesting than a boring, traditional hotel. Very nice bathroom and shower as well. We didn't use the kitchen, but everything was there...fridge, micro, stove, toaster oven and even dishes. And the host gave us about 10 bottles of water because it was quite hot. Also, the A/C was great. And the host was wonderfully helpful with everything we needed, including getting our bus tickets and a ride to Kyoto Station so we could catch the bus back to Osaka Kansai airport.

I really can't think of anything. It was all great.
