The proprietor went above and beyond to be accommodating to special requests we had including adding an additional friend who decided to join us. The food was excellent (we went for the beef course which is great value and top quality). The outdoor hotspring is in a garden setting and better than many upscale hotels and inns that I have stayed at in Japan. The owner has a great taste for art and while I rarely pay attention to it this was a very nice touch in a meticulously maintained Pension.

A futon which is just a tad bit longer (I am six foot tall and if fully stretched out it is a tad short) but bed is very comfortable and had a wonderful sleep. Keep in mind this is a Pension so is not deeply staffed but again the proprietor could not have been more attentive to our needs.
