The staff were amazing and very attentive. They dealt really well with a problem we had before we arrived that was no fault of theirs. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. My husband and son shared a room in the new part of the hotel with blackout shutters, a television and air conditioning and all new and upscale fixtures and fittings, which was fabulous. Gated parking onsite was a bonus.
We booked last minute and couldn't be put in a room next to my husband and son. Myself and my two daughters shared a room in the main part of the hotel. The rooms in the main hotel are tired and in need of updating. There was no air conditioning and no television and the bathrooms were functional but dated. Having seen the standard of the newer rooms I felt that these older rooms were overpriced as we paid the same rate for both rooms and breakfast should have been included for the price. Also, the restaurant was closed but booking.com did not advertise this on their website and we were disappointed that we had to travel to eat on this last day before travelling home. We were all tired and the main reason for booking this hotel was so that we could eat on site and go to bed early. By the time the owners informed us that the restaurant was not open the room was non-refundable.

The service at the hotel was exceptional. The host went out of her way to provide this high level of service. The food was very good, served in good time and was very presentable.
The decor in the hotel is very tired and needs updating and / or refreshing. This let the hotel down somewhat, with everything else being of such a high standard.

The owners were incredibly friendly and the toys and games for the children were great.
The evening meal in the restaurant was exceptional and far exceeded our expectations.

Nowhere really to just sit and chat after the meal. Had a drink with supper but wasn’t possible to get another.
Room had a very musty smell - think possibly drains.

We were really late arriving and the owner had a lovely welcome for us. The double bed was the most comfortable we have slept in on our holidays

Family run with a warm welcome and great food at very good prices. On our return leg there was even a jazz band playing across from the hotel which was an added bonus.

Second floor bedrooms are certainly not three star, but comfortable all the same. As one would expect from a town centre hotel, traffic noise from early in the morning.

Dinner was very good, nice bright dining room. The hotel restaurant was very full which was very good, especially as a number of diners were local, which is always a good recommendation.
The rooms were ok but access was a bit hard to the second floor due to the steep, narrow stairs. As it is an old building, there is very little to be done to help that, so this is not a criticism

As a stop of on route south it was OK. Host very friendly & pleasant. Food was good and not too expensive.
Didn’t open until 6pm so we drank coffee in nearby café while we waited.

Convenient and close to the motorway. Good food and wine with private parking. The hosts were very helpful and pleasant. The added bonus was that the hosts spoke English.
Personally, the bed was too hard. The level of cleanliness could be improved.

Surprisingly good restaurant, friendly and serviceminded staff, parking available, fairly good breakfast, relaxed atmosphere and available toys for kids. Nice old building, renovated bathroom.
No airconditioning in the room (was in the old part of the hotel, newer higher class rooms are available, don’t know if they have aircondition), so in July it was very warm at night. Open windows was not a good option with the junction just outside.

Good restaurant and a good breakfast. Private gated Car Park.
When we arrived it looked as though the Hotel had closed, but eventually saw that access was via the terrace. Terrace and adjacent car park were protected via a gate with a coded lock. Another guest arrived and used an intercom to get the gate opened. we discovered that the Proprietor had only just arrived on site at 5pm, despite check in being shown from 4pm on our booking.

Very good breakfast after a good evening meal. Several locals also in the restaurant for Saturday evening - always a good sign!
Super staff - not just a welcome but made time to speak with you.
Being used to the Gersois fois gras and magret we preferred fewer sweeteners to retain the full duck flavours.
No lift but that's the building!

The room was a bit dingy & smelt musty & was next to a main road, just a net curtain at the bathroom window. Very noisy, the water from upstairs ran through pipes in our room. The doors were hard to lock, we could hear the occupants in the family rooms nearby
There were 3 of us, so we needed 2 double rooms which was rather expensive
All the other clients said their rooms were perfect, so we wondered whether our rooms were reserved for Booking.com clients…

We love staying here and make a habit of using it as our holiday stopover when going further south in France. The owners could not be more welcoming or helpful! Our children love coming too and the family room is perfect for 2 adults and 3 children (not often you find a room for 5!) - looking forward to next year already!!!
