We had a very pleasant experience staying at this homestay surrounded by tropical rainforest! The owner and his wife are really kind and do everything to make your stay special. Perfect location to get to the pidurangala view (if you go for sunrise he will even come with you to the entrance because there are wild elephants in the area from time to time). Planning day trips (we did a jeep Safari in the nearby national park, highly recommended!) and further transportation was easy. The breakfast as well as the optional dinner and lunch was heavenly - definitely one of the best meals we had in Sri Lanka so far. TLDR: come here and enjoy!

If you want to see Lion Rock from piturangala, whether it is sunrise or sunset, this is a great place to stay. It is only a five-minute walk from piturangala, which is very convenient. The host is nice and friendly. The breakfast and dinner are sumptuous and delicious (we can't eat that much at all, I'm really sorry for the waste), and the price is very affordable. The room is clean and tidy, and the ac and hot water work good.

Wonderful couple serving delicious food with really thoughtful hospitality. Perfectly located to climb Pidurangala Rock for fabulous views over Sigiria Rock. The accommodation is simple but cheap and has what you need.

My personal complaint is related to an uncomfortable mattress.

We liked the host family a lot, they helped to arrange everything. The house was really close to pidurangala rock and it was easy to get there for sunrise. Really calm and peaceful stay

The bed was comfy and the location was exceptional. The couple that own the home stay were great to talk to, and the meals were very delicious

The aircon was a bit cold no matter what temperature we set it at. It definitely felt fantastic after climbing the rock though

This was the best Accomodation in Sri Lanka so far. the place was really calm and quiet with a great view on Pidurangala. Room was clean. What was absolutely perfect were the owners. the dinner blew up our minds. the woman is a perfect cook, we tried traditional meal as well as on breakfast. also in the morning before the Pidurangala hike, the owner probably saved our lives, when he warned us before elephants near the road. totally recommend this place. we felt like at home.

Amazing location, just 10 minutes' walk to Pidurangala and a beautiful view of the rock from the homestay. The hosts were so friendly and hospitable, we ate a generous and yummy breakfast and dinner here. The room is comfortable and simple, very clean. It is in a very quiet area so it's peaceful. Would recommend if you want to climb Pidurangala!

The water from the shower does sometimes get the toilet wet.

Wonderful place to stay, the best in Sri Lanka! Perfect location, close to Pidurangala rock entrance. Excellent family hospitality with nice bed, clean room and fantastic food! Like living in the rainforest out of town. The host is authorized guide for Sigiriya but did not advertise himself. Ask him and you will have the best friendliest guide ever! Very much worth the money.

The owners are absolutely fabulous. They made everything to satisfy us. They cooked delicious meals and offered many juices and fruits. They organised our way back to Negombo for us. The house is 5 min walk from Pidurangala and 10 min from Lion’s rock.

Some ants in the room, but there’s a mosquito net (which is a bit tight for the bed) to sleep in peace!

The host and family were very nice, dinner and breakfast really good, location ideal if you want to see the sunrise from pidurangala mountain and to walk around the lions rock park. A real integration into the "jungle" !

The owners greeted me with a drink, were so friendly and knowledgable and went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. They helped me plan my stay, offered to take me to Pollunaruwa when the tuk tuk was out of my budget (and showed me way more of the ancient city than the tuktuk was going to!) They also had a delicious breakfast/dinner. Would highly recommend if you’re a single traveller like me!

The owners of this homestay are extremely helpful and friendly people. In the evening during dinner we had nice talks with them and in the daytime the owner was happy to show us around. They grow many different fruits in their garden and let us try all of them. Pidurangala View is located in the middle of nature and there are lots of animals to discover. We saw and heard lots of different species, day and night. If you are a light sleeper make sure to pack some earplugs. The geckos can make quite some noice. Overall, we were able to get the whole Sri Lankan nature experience. We would go there anytime again.

We just came back from our holiday to Sri Lanka and without any doubt, me and my partner, we agreed this was the best home stay and the best Sri Lankan experience during our stay! It felt like we visited our family. The hosts were just funtastic, very very helpful and kind. We were served the best home stay breakfast and dinner. The variety and amount of food on the table made it impossible to finish it all and thr food was exeptional) The host have organised a safari for us and walked us up to the Pidurangala rock at 4.30 in the morning, to show us the way in the darkness. Their property was very well mantained, rooms very clean and beds fitted with the most comfortable mattresses I ever slept on. I was not expecting that coming in to that place. The homestay is located in the rural part, in the middle of the jungle) around 20km away from the train station in Habrana (direct link from Colombo), walking distance from Pidurangala rock and few km away from Sigiriya rock. When the power went off in the evening, we were left in total darknes, with millions of stars above our heads and only our senses to help.... sounds of the jungle, smells of the flowes and fireflies buzzing around. Obviously it didnt take long for our mama to arrive with the candles and for our dad to go on a skutter for a rescue mission to find the other two girls staying in the outher room. He managed to found them in the darkness and brought them home 20 minutes later. Now, just answer yourself, which host take care of their guests like that? Amazing Amazing Amazing! 11 out of 10! Absolutely brilliant place, hosts are very nice people with wonderful dogs :) We were well met and presented with lime drinks and water. Location is 11/10 if you want to visit both rocks in the area at one day. Hosts are very helpful with arranging a tuk tuk or giving an advice on sightseeing.

Everything was nice, room clean and spacious, just a few minutes from Pidurangala path which you have an astonishing view on Sigiriya for either sunset or sunrise. The host was very helpful, I needed to buy something and he took me on his bike. I recommend !

Very friendly welcoming, great talks with owner, excellent location to hike on Pidurangula for sunrise (only few hundred meters yet the owner brought us by bike), very nice room, and the best curry we had in Thailand!

The room was very clean, with WiFi access. The place is very nicely located, there is lots of nature around, Pidurangala 5 minutes walk away. The owners are very nice, helpfull and friendly!We were treated to a delicious meal and juice and the owner took us for a walk to show us the area. Thank you very much for having us ❤️

Perfect location, warm and helpful people, good, local food

Everything was perfect, the room is big and clean, the hosts could not take better care of us, from the welcoming drink to the delicious dinner and the amazing breakfast. They even led us to their special viewpoint with breathtaking views of both Pidurangala and Sigiryia rocks. The home stay was 5mn walk from Pidurangala Rock and 20mn walk from Sigiryia. It is very calm and relaxing. Best homestay after 6 weeks in Sri Lanka, only on regret: we stayed just for one night.
