Our group of college friends and spouses have been getting together annually in different parts of the country, and this was the first time coming to the Upper Midwest. The property was everything it looked like in the listing and more. There were nine of us and we would/will return to the Mansion at Tainter Lake the next time we reunite up here.

This is our third time at the Mansion and it was great as always! The lake was quiet green and definitely in bloom but we enjoyed the fishing, swimming, and tubing! The accommodations are prefect, meeting the needs of all ages and interests. The yard was great for cornhole, bocce ball, volleyball, and frisbee. The game room was awesome for the video and table gamers. There is plenty of space for all five of our families with fabulous space for cooking, eating, sleeping, resting, relaxing, and playing games. The only thing we didn't expect was to share the beach and dock since we had not done this before. It worked fine but didn't realize that this was now how it works. Love spending time with family and look forward to more opportunities to do so in the future in this amazing home!

The Mansion feels even more spacious in real life! We had a wonderful stay with our extended family and more than enough room for us all. There were a number of features of the house that we greatly appreciated - every bedroom being ample and having its own bathroom was so nice. And, the bedrooms being in a separate wing from the game room and main congregating space of the kitchen/dining/living area meant that the baby could sleep right through all the laughter and family games. The only downside for our group was unfortunately the lake itself. It does have a significant algae problem which limited swimming, and the fishing was not good at all while we were there. It was fun to kayak and paddle in, and we enjoyed taking the pontoon out, as well, but those who really look forward to fishing on our vacation were disappointed on that front. Overall, though, I would highly recommend the mansion to another large family group that was looking for an expansive space to play games, relax, and enjoy a good campfire.

Our stay was wonderful. We appreciated having a room that fit all of us and still gave us space as we needed it. It was a easy process made by the property manager Jessica. Our only suggestion is to clean under couch cushions, behind the headboards and to update the decor and some of the broken furniture. Yes we’d stay there again.

Great place to stay for a large group

We had a great time for the second year in a row hosting a board gaming event at the mansion. Jessica was amazing to work with and we loved our stay. thanks!

The house was extremely clean and is even bigger than the description makes it seem. Plenty of clean towels (which is oddly uncommon at rental houses) along with clear instructions throughout the property. Great place for ice fishing, snow machines, and other winter activities. I’m sure summer is just as good!

There was a family wedding in Menominee. Some of our family stayed at The Mansion and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!! This place is AMAZING!!!

This place is 12,000 sq ft of wonderful and the perfect spot for our birthday celebration. With the large size, I was a bit concerned about having a cozy space to gather, but the Kitchen, Dining Room, and Living Room Area delivers on that in a great way. And the master bedroom is just steps away from there. Beautiful art work thoughout, including a well lit walkway in the upper bedroom wing. And there are lighting options beyond your imagination. We had fun exploring the many switches throughout the Mansion. This is a unique place that has to be visited to be believed and appreciated. Thanks to Jessica and her team for being excellent hosts and responsive to all communcations. A very easy to give and much deserved 5 stars!

Took all of our adult children and their familes on vacation. Plenty of room for all of us! Our host Jessica made every so easy. Would definitely recommend and might even be a return guest.

The home is very nice and spacious enough for quiet space. There are games, puzzles, pool/ping pong table, and casino tables. We did bring our own cards and dice. Extra tables and space for dinner seating. Lots of very large pots, and a griddle for cooking. I only wish all the private rooms had king beds.

Excellent property for a large group. Good mix of common spaces and private spaces. Beautiful property on the lake. Only recommendations would be to make sure all the game room amenities were in good repair (ping pong, etc) and that room had a larger TV (too small for the space). But overall a great, well-managed property!

The mansion is absolutely amazing! We had our annual family Christmas here with 24 people aged between 9 months and 57 years. They had the beautiful Christmas tree and decorations up still for us to enjoy. The place is huge, comfortable and clean. We had a great time. Lots of room to spread out and celebrate or find a quiet place to relax. The kitchen was well stocked and had plenty of room to make meals. The kids bunk room worked great for us and they had a blast in the game room. I liked that the area was open to the upstairs so we could look in on the kids frequently and watch them play. We had a couple issues come up during our stay and Jessica was immediately on top of it. She handled the problems to our satisfaction. She cares about her guests happiness and we appreciate that so much. Thank you Jessica!!! After many years of searching, we might have just found or yearly gathering place. Thanks for the memories!!!!

A couple things could use some updates… pool cues were all missing tips, several lightbulbs were out, some of the fireplaces didn’t work, one of the foosball guys was broken, the handle to the pantry pulled right out of the door, toilet paper holder kept falling off in one of the bathrooms. All routine maintenance items, nothing remotely bothersome enough to ruin our time there. Thanks again for an amazing stay. We hope to come back again next year!

We had 16 people along on this vacation and had no shortage of space. The place is obviously huge and made it very easy to hang out as a group when and where we wanted but also had plenty of privacy for everyone to break off and have their own space if they wanted. This was a true vacation for this group so there was a lot of relaxation and with the kayaks, yard games, board games, and pontoon boat there was plenty of relaxation to be had. The kitchen had was very well stocked on dishes, utensils, and bakeware so it was truly able to accommodate the amount of people we had with no issues whatsoever. We actually spent the majority of our trip right on the property and never felt like there was a shortage of things to do. Just a heads up the reviews of the lake itself are all true, it is basically covered in a green film especially late in the season like this. This is obviously not a negative mark on the Mansion itself but should be noted for people who plan to swim as part of their stay. We still had plenty of fun out on the pontoon boat however. I wanted to end with what was probably the only non 5 star items we had for our entire stay and that was the beds themselves. As a large group we always understand that people are used to sleeping on their own beds with various sizes and firmness so this is always something that you just know is a gamble when you stay places. The complaint here is that these beds appear to be some kind of older spring mattress that are very noisy and very bouncy when you so much as try to rollover, this was a real conversation with anyone that had to share a bed obviously. I would rate the beds a 3 out of 5 but the entire rest of the stay was an easy 5 out of 5 and we would definitely stay here again!

Weeds could have been pulled around the property especially around the fire pit area. Many were bitten by chiggers. Many fire places did not work.

Beautiful home, very, very spacious. We had 3 generations: gma & gpa, 3 siblings with spouses + 11 grandkids. It was very comfortable and roomy and spacious. Plenty of space for us all to hang out and retreat to our own bedrooms when desired.

We really enjoyed our stay. The house was larger than the pictures. The boat was totally worth it - the lake was quite nice in June. It might not have been as much fun without the boat as it made swimming doable. There were a few kayaks - we didn’t attempt with little kiddos. The house was also very well stocked (compared to normal VRBOs).

This place had everything. The size and layout provide a perfect mix of privacy and togetherness. If you’re looking for a place to accommodate a large group this place is perfect!
