We loved everything about the house. The owners were so friendly and responsive. The house is amazing, the hot tub was amazing, everything was just perfect.

The house is amazing overall, with everything you might need, including lots of towels, card games, and a wood burning stove. The view off the back porch of the nearby river and mountains was incredible, and with Gianni Falls just a short walk away. It could use a second indoor shower, but otherwise we loved it and would stay again.

We stayed here upon our arrival to Iceland. The home was very comfortable for our group of 8. My parents enjoyed having their our space in the guesthouse. My kids loved the outdoor shower and hot tub. The scenery was lovely with the stream beyond the house. We walked to Glanni waterfall from the house and Grabarok crater was around 2.5 miles away. We would definitely stay here again.

This was a great house to use as a base for our week long Icenlandic adventure for our family of 5 adults. The directions are very easy to follow to get into the house as well as the directions for the appliances, hot tub, etc. If you are traveling from the US, note that you have to use the county code of 35 to operate the gate but it does work with "wi-fi" calling. The property is in a very quiet area and we enjoyed using the outdoor shower, hot tub and the fireplace for the rainy evenings. The hot tub in the rain was actually quite pleasant. In addition we walked every morning to the waterfall and the beautiful "oasis". The house comes stocked with all the basics needed for your stay - plenty of towels, paper goods, salt, pepper, foil, etc. Highly recommended!

This was an excellent location for our adult family of 8 (4 couples) to relax and enjoy each other’s company between amazing excursions. The location provides convenient access to Reykjavik, parts of the Golden Circle and Western Iceland. We had plenty of space and the amenities were great! Lots of towels, a well stocked kitchen, fireplace, big windows everywhere, and fantastic outdoor living space including a hot tub that was used daily. Communication with the hosts was excellent and the surroundings were amazing. There is a beautiful waterfall just minutes walk away, springs burbling up out of the ground, a volcanic crater and more. Highly recommend.

Wonderful home away from it all. Thorough instructions - just needed a bit of help operating stove and struggled with many light switches which we couldn’t quite figure out how to get total darkness! Wonderful spot - make sure you have 4WD in winter as any significant snowfall might leave you stuck for days - not that that would be all that bad!!

We spent almost a week here and absolutely loved it. There were plenty of interesting spot withing driving distance. Some walking. Spent almost every night in the hot tub. Everything we needed was there and the owner was always responsive to questions.

The house was easy to find, thanx to great directions from Robert and Heidrun. The photos of the listing are exactly as they are in real life. The hot tub and outdoor shower were great - even though we had to withstand some pretty strong, cold winds! Brrr! The beds, bedding, and towels were perfect and the kitchen is well appointed! The heated floors were a welcome addition! The views from the back windows were excellent and the location of the home made it feel very private. It was great having two bathrooms for the 5 of us - no one had to wait while someone was in the shower to use the toilet. It took a bit to get used to the light switches and the fact that they dim if you hold them down. The property was exceptionally clean and everything was in good working order. The only complaint I would have is that for some reason we only managed to get 1 1/2 people showered before running out of hot water. You would then need to wait about an hour before the next hot shower. I would highly recommend this house and its location. We stayed for 3 nights and did a few day trips each day from the house. It was an easy trip into Borgarnes as well as up to Snaefellsnes. Thank you for having us!

Just an amazing property with great views. Lots of space, fully equipped double oven kitchen. It the sort of place we would love to live in but could never afford.

My family and I (a group of 6) stayed at Heiðrún's place in February for several days. We were impressed by its cleanliness, how well stocked it was, and how warm it was (we even had to crack open some windows and turn down the geothermal heating to the summer setting, despite the cold weather). It took us a day or so to embrace the wind and rain, but we were able to enjoy the nearby Glanni waterfalls, hikes near Bifröst, Snaefellsnes Peninsula and National Park, and Húsafell, and the fjords to the north. It was an excellent location to see the auroras, because there was not much light pollution. Heiðrún was a very responsive host and answered all questions very quickly! We only had a couple of issues during our stay: - It was a little bit difficult to find the house when we first arrived (it's the third turn after the gate!), but that's mostly because Google Maps does not have updated road maps for the housing development there. - The gate was a bit of an issue, because only two in our group had cell reception during our entire trip (though the others were able to message over wifi at the house and our hotspot). It was often frustrating to coordinate calling to open the gate when our group split up. - The ceiling leaked after several days of sideways rain, but we were able to manage it with some towels on the floor. Nothing major! I messaged Heiðrún about the issue; she was not able to fix it during our stay, but said it should be dealt with soon. We would absolutely stay at this or any other property Heiðrún has!

The location of this beautiful summer house is absolutely amazing. We sat on the sofas and could just sit and enjoy the view into the nature. The kitchen is perfectly equipped so we could prepare complete dinner. Heidrun reacted promptly in every question we had and everything was perfectly described in the house booklet. Don’t miss to use the hot tub! Even when it is icecold outside, it ist just wonderful to sit there and glaze into the stars.

We had a great time in this very nice, extra clean and comfortable house. The location and views are just fantastic. The house was exactly as described in the listing. We enjoyed lighting the fireplace every evening. Communicating with Heidrun was always easy and a pleasure.

Heidrun and Robert's house was spectacular in every way for our too brief stay. Heidrun was fantastic in answering all my myriad questions well before our arrival. We arrived to find a perfectly lovely and well designed modern house just up from a beautiful river with wonderful views. The house itself was very well furnished, , comfortable and generally very well appointed. We had a wonderful time hiking along the river and making excursions. This area is off the main tourist route (golden circle) and is well worth the excursion. We'd go back in a heartbeat. Matt Miller

Beautiful and modern little house on a magical piece of property. The views are absolutely gorgeous and the accomodations quite comfortable and clean. Our kids loved running through the wide expanse of grass and down to the river. We have left with such wonderful family memories. Thank you Heidi!

We loved the house and location. Abosyty beautiful and perfect for our group of 10 ages 80-9. So much to see in the area! Hot tub was wonderful and we enjoyed watching the World Cup!
