The apartment is cozy, well decorated, and the couch and comfy bed make all the difference. While it is located near the beach and close to the city center (a big plus), the Las Canteras beach still requires 15 min walk on the promenade. The apartment has all the needed amenities (hair dryer, toaster, microwave), but I would stay away from the big induction pan (use a little one, works better)!

We actually never met the owner, only the cleaner, which was a bit odd. The apartment is on the 4th floor, and while there is a lift, we never used it, as it's tiny and creaks all the way up (not a pleasant experience). Also, the view outside is not much. Otherwise, one bad thing about this apartment is its cleanliness. While surface areas were cleaned, the shower was (and probably still is) full of rust and the floor was not mopped when we arrived (the broom itself also seemed as never before cleaned). But if you can get past that, the place is comfy.

Location was v. good

The terrible smell of sewer on entering the building which seeped into the apt. under the door. Building next door being renovated so constant very loud drilling and banging all day. Impossible to talk above the noise.

So many issues with this apartment. There was a terrible damp smell throughout the flat and the apartment building itself. We left the windows open everyday but still couldn't get rid of the terrible smell. There was construction right next door - the connecting building which the owner obviously knew about but didn't inform us of after booking. This meant we got no decent sleep on holiday, starting from 7am every morning, loud drilling noises woke us up every day apart from the weekend when the construction workers took a break. There was a huge hole in the bathroom ceiling held together by tape. The boiler also leaked water to the kitchen floor which we had to keep mopping. We complained about this and a makeshift pipe and bottle was setup to stop the water from leaking to the floor but this meant we had to keep an eye on it and empty the bottle when full. This apartment was a huge disappointment. I would not recommend to anyone who wants a relaxing holiday.

I liked the location

I did not like the fact that we were on the 4th floor and the elevator was not working for the entire 8 days that were were there. We had communication with the host and he promised compensation but never got it. Very difficult for my 87 yr old mother to go up and down the stairs.
