Location is fabulous, staff is warm and welcoming and the kitchen is great! Absolutely recommended, I will go back for sure. Thank you for your hospitality!

They were so incredibly kind and welcoming. There were great little nooks to tuck away and read on the main floor. And the breakfast spread was one of the best I had while in Scotland. There were only two other parties there during my stay, giving it an even more intimate feel. It a great place to unplug and unwind, and I wish I could’ve stayed longer!

This is a lovely hotel. The staff were very welcoming when we arrived. The room was lovely, clean and decorated nicely. The views and grounds were absolutely amazing and it was very relaxing to sit out, enjoy the sun and relax.

There wasn't anything that we didn't like about this hotel and it's location.

The breakfast was amazing, the room was comfortable and the bath was perfectly sized also the views were beautiful. I stayed in a lakeside view room while me and a friend completed the NC500 and we were both impressed by the grounds, building and views!

The location is pristine and beautiful. Truly a serene vacation spot.

We had paid for one garden facing and another lake facing rooms and had requested adjacent/nearby rooms to stay close as a family. However, we were provided two rooms in different locations, one in the main building and the other in a building extension/different building with separate access. Considering that we have grown up children, it was not a big deal. The room that we were in was really small and did not have enough space to place and open our luggage. The coffee maker tray was placed on the windowsill and did not have a table to set up nor a socket to plug in. We had to set up the coffee maker/water heater on the carpet floor. The queen size bed occupied the whole room. There was minimal space to walk around to the rest room on one side. It didn't matter as we were only spending the nights in the hotel.

What a wonderful guest house. Was welcomed by name and made to feel extremely welcome. I arrived late and after working a very long day, I was kindly given some food (the chef had gone by then) and was much appreciated! Was shown to my room and it was gorgeous! Very comfortable room, lovely furnishings a huge, high bed which was soooo comfy! Nice not to have tv in the room - wasn't needed at all with the views out the windows of Loch Ard and Ben Lomond along with the sound of water lapping on the shore and the babbling waterfall on the property. Breakfast was delicious and coffee very good! Alison was delightful and a joy to chat with! I look forwards to coming back for non-work related holiday with my husband and kids. Great facilities although didn't use them all - an inviting relaxing lounge area next to a quiet conservatory filled with books and games.

In honesty, I didnt like the fact I had to check out!

We very much liked that the bedrooms didn't have TV's and it felt like a beautiful rest and escape from our ever more demanding busy lives and world. There were two beautiful leisure areas with comfortable sofas and a nice game selection in the hotel which felt very relaxing to have. The breakfast was very good and our special dietary needs were catered for. The hotel is run by very accommodating hosts and staff who seemed passionate about making our stay a very positive and pleasant experience.

There was nothing that we didn't like.

We had a wonderful time at Altskeith Country House. Beautiful location, charming friendly host. The best food that we had in Scotland. Full Scottish Breakfast was delicious, and dinner was amazing. The fish and chips we had were the best I've ever tasted. I recommend everyone to eat in this place. We were pleasantly surprised by the location with multiple outdoor activities.

Description on Booking.com was incorrect - no facilities, Restaurant did not exist was just a big barren room with tables. Bar was non existent this was like a pop up bar more like a mobile bar in the barren room. No TV facilities. Rooms were lovely but extremely overpriced & expensive as to what you got. We booked this as we thought it was a proper hotel found out this was used as a Wedding Venue. Definately would not return, I would not recommend Akskeith House.

Beautiful location with lovely views over the loch. Very friendly and welcoming hosts. Peaceful and relaxing country house with huge sitting room for guests. Delicious dinner and breakfast.

It wasn't an issue for us as we wanted some peace and quiet but phone signal was a bit sketchy possibly because of location or weather but that is to be expected in such locations.

The owners were so attentive, they accommodated us with a bigger room , offered my toddler pasta for dinner (his fave but wasn't on the menu) qns took the time to talk to us and include my tot in their conversations ..it was such a pleasure .

Late check in. Bathroom in 3 bed room didn't close/lock.

We arrived a little early and our room wasn't quite ready yet so we went to the town nearby to grab some lunch. Came back 2 hours later to find we had been upgraded to the bridal suite! Room was very comfortable and tastefully decorated. The king bed was very comfy. Lovely quality bedding and pillows. The view from the bridal suite over the gardens and loch is unreal. The location is second to none - right on the loch with stunning views all around. We ate dinner which was some of the best food I've ever eaten. Beef brisket with fresh seasonal veg and crispy potatoes was amazing. Had the coca-cola sticky toffee pudding for desert and the sauce was heavenly. My partner had the chicken and was equally complimentary. They went out of their way to accommodate her gluten intolerance too.
