Great location and facilities were good

A favourite bach and bay in Northland, truely a piece of nz paradise with a great beach, views and tutukaka just down the road for shops and restaurants. Bach has everything you need and more and love the new kitchen recently installed. Quiet and private spot with unbeatable views from the kitchen table and deck.

We couldn’t ask for a better spot and the Bach was just as described and had everything we needed. We’d definitely stay again.

We arrived late at night. The instructions were easy to follow. Waking up the next morning was absolute magic! Lovely rustic little bach with everything we could ever need. So close to the beach. Plenty of space if we'd brought the kids (but we didn't!) Great location. Fred was easy to contact (not that we needed to). We particularly enjoyed the feijoa tree and foraging some for breakfast each morning. Loved it!

Such a wonderful location we all had a fabulous time. Fred was a very accommodating host, offering a refund when we had to vacate early due to an approaching cyclone. Would definitely recommend this place gor a holiday! We would live to return!!

We had an amazing time, despite some changeable weather. The view and location is unbeatable, with amazing sunsets, and a few steps to the beach. The property was as described, being a typical “Kiwi Bach”. Would definitely go back again.

Loved looking at and listening to the waves. Had everything you could possibly need and great communication. Great for any weather, any season. Absolutely loved my stay!

Freds Bach is just perfect if you enjoy sea views, absolute beach front position and a well equipped bach user friendly home.

Totally loved staying here. An amazing spot. The only reason I didn't give all 5 stars was that two of the kids' beds downstairs had sand in them, leaving me wondering whether the sheets had been changed!

Had a great time at Freds property, right on the beach! Had some unforeseen power/water issues on arrival but Fred was incredibly helpful and talked us through everything, gave us alternatives and contacted the neighbours for support. We felt very looked after. On Saturday we had the wind coming straight in but the best thing about the area is how many beautiful bays there are! We popped over the hill and spent the day at another bay completely out of the wind. On Sunday we were lucky enough to have a lovely still day and enjoyed Whangaumu Bay in all its beauty. Thanks Fred!

We loved our stay in Whangaumu what an incredible Bay we feel in love. The house looked alot bigger in the photos and seemed much smaller and there is no internal access to the bed room and beds down stairs despite that The house was well equipped for all guest with plenty of towels, blankets plates bowls and cooking stuff. The view is beautiful and enjoyed it while sipping a cold beverage and playing Tabu (bored games) supplied by the bach. Fred was so friendly and kind in everyway possible making any small changes easy and doable. Our stay was amazing and would definitely go back. Thank you Fred, you have a real treasure there. We had an excellent 4-night stay including doing the Poor Knights boat trip (highly recommend). Great location and a very well set-up Kiwi bach - unbeatable location right on the beachfront.

After a few travel restrictions & lockdowns in Auckland, celebrating Christmas “kiwi style” at the beautiful Whangaumu (Wellingtons Bay) was just WOW! The photos listed with the property do not do the location, home & its amenities justice! Check in process was super easy, communication with Fred was great & he was quick to respond always! Our family of 8 mostly teens & adults each enjoyed their own space on the property and also made use of the large front lawn/back yard if we weren’t out swimming, fishing or taking a stroll along the beach. The home is very clean, spacious and well stocked with all the essentials. We cannot recommend this property enough and we will definitely stay again when we get the chance. THANK YOU Fred for sharing your home with us, it really is a quintessential kiwi bach and we’ve been very lucky to have the experience! Also - The neighbours are awesome folk!
