Very clean and tidy and excellent rooms

Good location.

Queen studio didn’t look as good as the photos. The door lock was faulty and took multiple tries to get it to work. Manager was no help. Kitchenette smallest space possible. Microwave didn’t work .

Room was above reception so a little noisy. Figuring out TV was complicated for no real reason . Needs a UX overhaul

We didn’t know what to expect but overall we were very pleased with our stay at Dolphin Motel. The owner was extremely welcoming and friendly. Parts of Paihia are very hilly, however, this motel is located on the flatter part of the town and it’s only a few minutes walk from the main town centre. Our two bedroom apartment in the new wing was nicely decorated, very clean and comfortable. The bedrooms and bathroom were a good size too.

In both bedrooms, there is only one clothes stand per room for handing a few clothes, no other storage is provided. This is acceptable for a short stay.

I rarely give comments, but for this one, I have to say something. I think we were staying at the old building/motel side. We stayed in a family suite with two bedrooms for two nights for $640. The bedrooms were freezing and had no heater and not enough quilts and blankets. The blankets they had were old/ blots and smelly ( All the bedding is very old ). We didn't have much sleep for the first night as it was too cold. The second night, they only can give us one little fan heater as someone else may be needed too; it was noisy. I had to up a few times to move the heater around for the kids between rooms... No room service, ants and cockroaches were over the kitchen. NO staff at the reception, need to call to communicate. only saw staff when we checkout.

The motel has very good facilities, and is very well maintained. Modern, clean and up to date. It is very well located, a couple of minutes walk away from the foreshore and all amenities. I would definitely stay there again. Highly recommended.
