The house was just ok. The location was great! But, there were a few issues with the house. The landscaping needs a major makeover, long weeds everywhere, unable to use volleyball net in the back yard. The upstairs deck has boards missing. The chimney leaks when it rains causing big puddles of water on the living room floor. The pull out sofa bed had cheetos and looked filthy! The pics posted online must be very old, the ocean view is now almost completely blocked by other beach houses now. Photos show nice colorful beach chairs in the yard but they werent there when we were there. If you can get passed all that you will enjoy your stay. Overall we enjoyed it.

There was 11 of us ages 4 to 60. Everyone had a great time there was even room for everyone to sit down at the same time. The house was really close to the beach and had everything we needed. It was an older house and didn’t have all the steps to get into it a big plus for me. Very clean and nice. A very short drive to restaurants. Plus the beach was not crowded

We had a wonderful stay! House was super comfortable and close to the beach. Working ceiling fans in every room which is a must for us. The backyard was perfect and just what we needed for grilling dinner. Property manager was great and easy to get in touch with. Over all a great house.

Nice layout, comfy beds for the adults and a great bunk room for the kids. Great backyard for grilling & for the kids to safely play.

Very nice property in a wonderful location

The house is nice; although, it needs some updating of the place and some of the furniture. Communication with Stephany is excellent. She is responsive. I did tell her the need for new cleaning people, the place was very dirty. I sent her pictures of the ceiling fans with thick dust on them. She did recommend to wash all the dishes before using them. Location is amazing. Slight views of the gulf. Dog beach is close. Nice and felt like safe neighborhood.

The property exterior was a little run down with excessive weed growth in the yard, however it was very clean and pretty inside with plenty of everything needed in a rental. Perfect for people with kids! Property manager communication was perfect and I would recommend this place for sure.

It was a great week, and we absolutely loved our stay. The home was very well cleaned, and well stocked with anything we needed. The only warning I would give is to make sure if you go out to play volleyball to make sure you wear full tennis shoes because of the coast sandbur!! They hurt!! My husband pulled up as many as he could find but we still had to check our dog’s paws every time she went out and pull the burr out. But it’s a plant and out of the owners control, just be aware they are there. Also picked up some walking to the beach so again, it has absolutely nothing to do with the home owner, just be aware and check paws and don’t go barefoot. The walk to the beach was not bad at all, the beach was never crowded, I highly recommend it!!! Happy vacation!!

The reason we booked this place was based on the last reviews . When we got there , I was shocked how bad in shape this place is . When the lady before said the pictures don’t do justice, I can only agree because it is much worse ! I didn’t expect to stay in a luxury beach house , but I would like the standard cleanliness and properly working household when I take my family on vacation . Especially staying with a smaller children .The place needs a deep cleaning and beds and couches need to be replaced . We found candy wrappers , half empty coke bottles and trash under the beds . In the master bedroom we even found a pill on the floor . I don’t want to imaging what would’ve happen , if one of the kids would have eaten it ! The mattress is absolutely disgusting and filthy. The pull out couch is so dirty that my daughter went and bought a air mattress , because she did not wanted to lay on it . Most dressers were broken and the appliances in the kitchen have issues . Pots and pans are also not very appealing , bottoms were burned but there was a set of newer cast iron pans that was great for us to use . The key pad on the front door is faulty and that’s a safety issue , the back door is so badly jammed , you need some force to open and shut it . After reading older reviews I saw that the freezer is leaking for over a year and hasn’t replaced . After I reached out to the host , we were advices to put a towel in front until she gets a repair man out there . That never happened and she never gave us any updates . The water leaking all over the tiles and can be easily a slipping hazard for kids or elderly . The ceiling fan and light in the living room is almost falling off when turned on . The deck is a safety hazard and I am sure not up to code . Banisters are broken , split and missing . Big enough for a child to fall through . There is no light at the stairs so at night you can easily fall down the stairs . The landscape is also in poor condition . Positive things to say is the short walk to the beach , new beach towels were there , but not enough wash cloth and kitchen towels to use . Washer detergent and dryer sheets, toilet paper and paper towels were provided for the first day of our stay . So all in all not what we expected but we made it work . Just want to make follow renters aware of the condition of the place

Thank you, thank you, thank you for this awesome dog friendly vacation rental! It was exactly what we expected and more! There was so much room! The pictures don't do the layout justice. Everybody had their own spaces and the backyard was fantastic!!! The stairs to the upper deck have been replaced and they are brand new, but what was more important to me was that the fence was nicely maintained and did not have any weak spots that I had to worry about with two pups exploring the yard. The volley ball net is new and the yard was a normal beach yard, so if there was high brush there before(as I read in another review), it is gone now. Again, more importantly there are no sand spurs!!! Do you know how hard it is to find a beach yard without sand spurs!!! My pups were able to explore and sniff without getting spurs in their sweet paws and THAT is a rare find at a beach house!!! The sofa was very comfy and the TVs and wifi worked great! Zero issues with that. The house rules were simple and straight forward and the supplies that they started us with were perfect. Anything else we needed was easily delivered with Instacart and Doordash. This is a perfectly classic cinder block style beach house with nice updates, but still true to it's original self and a little piece of nostalgia for anyone who remembers Pensacola Beach before all of the high rises popped up. I love that it is all one level too! I'm not looking to walk stairs just to get from the front door to a living area and then another set of stairs to get to bedrooms. So if you are looking for a relaxing HOME to stay in with your furry family, then this is the place for you! I'm already planning my next trip back and this will be a go to home for us to stay at! location excellent and cleanliness perfect . just a few things need attention like microwave working but slightly broken on the outside . also please provide more lighting on the outside like some string lights to bring out the true beauty of the property and make it really stand out. really appreciate the fact that you made the property pet friendly

Overall we enjoyed our stay at Stone Crab Cottage. It was clean and everything you could need for the beach was there. We loved the location and communicating with the owner was very easy. The only complaint/criticism I have is that the pictures are outdated and do not accurately reflect the condition of the home. Furniture items were broken, the bedding is old and worn, lots of tears and stains on fabric items throughout the house and the volleyball ball net is old and sagging. With that being said, none of that affected our trip or will prevent us from possibly renting from this owner again, I just think the house could use a few updates.

The house was a very close walk to the beach so we enjoyed being able to walk over back & forth often. It felt very lived in & homey which made our stay very relaxing. Our sweet pups enjoyed their stay as well!

The property is exactly as described, 2 minute walk to the beach and very accommodating for 2-3 families to stay and have a great time!

We loved our time, this location is ideal! It was such a cute and cozy place to stay.

Property definitely needs alot of attention. The photos are very outdated. We really couldn't even use the backyard. The "volleyball court" was nonexistent. The net was there but all the weeds/grass made it impossible to use. Didn't have a gas grill. The charcoal grill there was missing a leg and had to be propped up with a piece of wood to keep from failing over. The upstairs patio was missing a step about halfway which made it kinda dangerous to get up and down. In the middle of our stay they had someone come over (without any notice) and measure to supposedly fix but never came back. We stayed a total of 9 nights and on day 7 we had the cleaning lady literally banging on the door saying she was there to clean and we were scheduled to leave. (We weren't) until she called and said it was her mistake. Lots of other details to even mention, leaky fridge, missing lights, etc. Overall the stay was just okay. The property has LOTS of potential just not maintained well overall. The only "plus" of this property was the location. That's what makes it a 3 star instead of 2. It was just a walk away from the beach which was convenient. Nothing bad with the owner just the house is poorly maintained.

Check In was delayed due to the cleaning crew still being at the location until 4:30 PM. Swept the floor to get some of the sand up and moved couch slightly and found a piece of cereal we did not bring with us. Multiple light bulbs did not work in the living room and kitchen area. One area of living room with a table has no light in the area. Advised property manager of a broken step going up to the upper deck; was not fixed by time we left. Could not enjoy the backyard when it became dark due to limited lighting. The volleyball net is falling apart. Watch your feet in the sand due to prickly little grass and bushes. The grill has a broken leg that is supported by a 1x4. WiFi was okay. Smart TV in the living room would not log into apps to allow for viewing of anything other than the antenna TV.

Burned out light bulbs over range as well as several in dining and kitchen areas could have been replaced by cleaning crew prior to occupancy. Water on floor presumably leakage from freezer. Some ants ( master bathroom and bedroom). Paddle board and kayak were a plus.

The deck on top of the house is a great feature. Stargazing at night from the deck is amazing. The bunk room really makes the house bigger than it may seem. Held 9 of us very comfortably.

Quaint furnishings and decor made our stay comfortable. We were grateful for the variety of kitchen cookware for family meal preparatons. Our goal of proximity to the beach was enjoyably met. The fenced backyard was excellent for keeping children occupied and safe.We were also grateful for flexibilty on check in time as we arrived from different areas of the country earlier than originally expected, and were able to check in and get settled.All in all, a very pleasant stay.

The pictures in the advertisement are very old. While the location of the house is very convenient, the house itself needs attention. The outdoor table was all rusted and falling apart and we were afraid to sit in the chairs because of dry rot. There was black mold in the kids room, the fridge leaked constantly to where we had to keep a towel in front of it the entire stay. The vacuum was completely ineffective at picking up all the sand in the house. The worst part was probably the fact that both toilets were broken and one was even missing the lid for the back part! My husband had to rig them just to be able to flush them! They had recently redone the upstairs deck (which came out nice) but they left all the trash and old wood from it piled in the backyard. The kids room is a redone garage that the a/c was not able to cool at all but luckily it was in the 50s a few nights and we were able to keep it cool most nights, enough for the kids to sleep. I could not imagine trying to sleep in there during the summer.They did have a few toys and chairs for the beach, however, one of the kayaks was duck taped on the bottom so we did not try to use them.This house would be so cute if it and the yard were maintained and had some newer furniture. If the maintenance and the new furniture happened then I would stay again. Until then I think I will seek other houses next year.

We were traveling with our large family, 7 children ages 2-25; Stone Crab cottage had plenty of room and a great layout. The fenced in backyard of sand was perfect for our littles to play in when we couldn’t be on the beach. Our toddlers can be so rowdy and into everything but this house was very kid-friendly. The bunk room was a great place for our teenagers to go hang out and watch movies at night. The beach was an easy walk, the street was quiet but still close to everything. We all really loved taking turns on the paddle board and kayaks. We all had the best beach vacation here.

The property was great and everything that we needed! There were 8 total people this go around and everyone slept comfortably. Everything worked properly and there were zero complaints from anyone. Stephany was an absolute peach to work with...even with adding a day, asking for the pet deposit back since my dog was unable to attend, and just being available whenever a question came up. I would definitely recommend this property and will gladly be back.

We found our rental to be clean and very conveniently located just a short stroll onto the beach. Fenced in back yard and balcony porch was enjoyable.
