Beautiful room, quiet location, quaint scenery and a lovely spot for a retreat with your loved one. The hotel is older, but room has been modernized, while retaining a classic atmosphere.

When choosing to stay at this hotel, one of the primary reasons for selecting it was to have both a in-suite jacuzzi and a wood fireplace. Well imagine my surprise and severe disappointment when we drove 3+ hours from Calgary only to find out that the fire tools and log stand have been removed from the fire place and replaced with a cheap fake plug in log that produces fire noises akin to a 1980's kids toy. When inquiring with the staff, they told me a fire... Was... A fire hazard.... Go figure. VERY dissapointed that not only was this the response and reality of the room we purchased, but when you look up the hotel room information AND pictures, you will see a fully functional fireplace equipped with tools beside it. Do NOT be decieved like I was! If this is a dealbreaker for you, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Crandall mountain Lodge is a period piece. We like the fact that since Covid, they have removed all the knickknacks from the rooms, so they now feel less cluttered and cleaner. We really appreciate the large communal outdoor furnished deck which allows us to gather with the friends we travelled with to Waterton to share a drink and a bite to eat.

Updating the older finishes in the units that have not been renovated yet would be a positive thing. However, the units are functional and accommodating as they are.

Location - right amongst tall pines, and within easy walking distance to restaurants, nature center, Cameron Falls. Free parking near lodge. Front patio to relax in the shade or have a cookout, small kitchen with cooking/serving dishes. Nice shower good even water pressure, nice towels.

It is old, so the floor was uneven in one spot. Suggestion: Get a new over shower pipe soap rack. That is an easy, inexpensive, quick fix.

Great location, walkable to amenities in the town and trailheads. The room was able to accommodate my family.

The beds were great and the suite was very spacious. even though the location was right next to the road, the rooms were quiet. The staff was friendly and efficient.

Having the room stocked with coffee would be great! The hotel staff did give us some extra coffee packets. The room had a functioning coffee maker and sugar, but no coffee or creamer.

Noisy people above us the second night. Had to ask about the smoke alarm hanging from the ceiling. They did address it right away.

I booked this property a few weeks prior and the staff contacted me to let me know they were closing for the season on the dates I had booked and transferred my reservation to the Waterton Lakes Lodge painlessly, honoring the original price. Very professional and seamless. Waterton Lakes Lodge was great.

Positives of staying here: the location is convenient, the staff are super nice, the towels are very white and fluffy. The bed linens were clean. The room didn't smell bad. Shower pressure was great. The fireplace worked and kept the room warm, and the shampoo & conditioner had a great peppermint-y scent!

Know that the décor is older (think: 1970's). Rooms definitely need an overhaul. Chairs @ the table were so stained that I washed them & covered with a towel before we could sit on them.The gas line should be inside the walls rather than run along the inside of the room (does this meet Code?). Huge spider crack on interior of sink (time to buy a new one?). Black mildew along bottom of shower (Ew.). Lamp shades could use some hot water + soap (Also Ew.). Blinds are dirty, stained, and bent out of shape, making privacy an issue. Extra blanket & pillow both had hair all over them (More Ew.). Fireplace had a wooden wedge underneath to balance it (Just weird.). All things that should be repaired/cleaned to make for a more pleasant experience.
