Great place, great location, good communication

This was our second time to stay and it is the perfect place for our family. The access to the beach is amazing and the home has plenty of room for all ages. The kitchen is well equipped for us to make meals and enjoy them at the large family table or outside on the deck. The shower downstairs is a nice amenity to get all the sand off before heading into the house. Sea Isle is a great place, not crowded like the east end but close enough to drive in to explore Galveston. By far one of our favorite homes we’ve stayed in!!

We stayed 15 nights in May 2023 at Galveston Sea Star. With so many 5-star reviews you would expect this rental to be perfect and “in pristine condition” as described in the listing. However: Toilet has black, disgusting caked-on crud. Grime on cabinets and doors ANTS in kitchen, dining area & on the wall. Many ant bait traps set in the kitchen. Due to ants, I emptied a cabinet, cleaned it out and sprayed RAID that was already at the house. Open food packages need to be tossed. King mattress has a big yellow NASTY stain! I covered it with a folded throw that had already been left under the mattress pad. King mattress pad had stains that looked like blood! I washed and replaced. Entire house needs deep-cleaning. Furnishings are as shown in the listing, but no ottomans in the living room. Property has lots of towels, kitchen stuff; the washer and dryer work fine. The drains in the showers are clear. WIFI is great, cell phone reception is iffy and TV does not receive local stations, but you have access to plenty of free movies. Thermostat keeps the house at the desired temperature most of the time. This was not our first time renting a beach house. This house is beautifully furnished – just not adequately kept up. Cursory cleaning between guests is not enough. Owners need to hire a professional to get rid of the ants, throw out the foodstuffs, replace the king mattress and deep clean. Then, the Galveston Sea Star will be an EXCEPTIONAL rental “in pristine condition.”

Our favorite place to stay. This was our 3rd year to stay in the house and we look forward to many more memories with our children and grandchildren

The rental experience was great, and we would definitely rent this beach house again. We just wish that the weather had been better!

The house had everything we needed for a relaxing vacation.

I went with my adult children, so I had the downstairs master and they shared the upstairs, my daughter and boyfriend in the queen room and my son in the bunk room. This house worked great for our needs. The downstairs is open and airy with lots of great seating for relaxing, reading, and watching the sunrise, a fold out table for puzzling, and spacious, well appointed kitchen for meal prep. Easy access to the beach is a plus. Lots of closet space for storage. It was big enough for us this time, but not when both kids have families.

Will stay again. Loved it!

The good: Beach is 20 yds away Location is perfect ( away from the craziness of Galveston) Fishing is good Cute house EVERY beach toy you need is in the garage. Needs improvement: Needs to be deep cleaned. Grime on cabinets, hairs on sinks, a lot of old books and games need to be thrown away and clutter eliminated. 2nd floor sleeping area was much hotter, even with AC. Both shower drains were not working properly. Doors and windows need to be repaired and/or updated. Overall, cute place that needs to be better maintaned.

The view, the beach, the house, and our stay was perfect. We had a crab boil on the balcony picnic table and watched the sunset. We walked the beach at dawn and were alone. Clean, well stocked, and worth every penny. I highly recommend recharging with beach time here!

Location is great, empty lots on both sides in sea isle, no cars on beach. Property easily accommodates our family of 6…3 adults, 3 elementary age children. Has everything you need in kitchen. Best of all great deck and beautiful view with sea breezes.

Everything was great the location, there was hardly anyone on the beach and very spaced out due tonit being a private beach the rooms were spacious, they had beach towels, linens, left a bottle of wine and chocolates, sun screen, plenty of things in the garage for kids to play with. We take a beach trip to galveston once a year and definitely want to come back. On top of everything already great my son left his nintendo switch there and they found it and mailed it back to us! Would highly recommend especially to families!

My family and I had a fantastic stay at the Sea Star. Easy access to the beach and quiet location made for a very relaxing vacation. We would definitely stay here again.

The house was very clean and very nice. They truly had everything you could possibly need. I really liked they had a regular coffee pot and Kereg - as we still use a regular coffee pot. Washer & dryer was huge added bonus. All the beds were super comfortable. Outside furniture was perfect. The outside shower was beneficial and all the extras in the garage was enjoyed. Being a decent distance from the public beach accesses - it felt private and safe.

Kitchen stocked, lots of beach toys in the garage, extra beach towels and a store across the road. The owners are so easy to work with. We highly recommend this home!!

We visited in March 2022 for a spring break get away for me, my wife, and two boys. What a wonderful experience! I don't think we could ask for a better location or amenities. The beach was nice and quiet, just the occasional beach walker or bicyclist. The only vehicles on the beach were municipal vehicles for maintenance. It doesn't appear that private cars are allowed on the beach, which is great. The location is definitely much more peaceful than the public beaches in the city of Galveston. The house came with plenty of outdoor chairs, beach toys, and even a sturdy sun shelter. We especially enjoyed flying kites from the assortment of kites available. Inside, the house is very spacious and nicely decorated with a well stocked kitchen and comfortable bedrooms. The internet connection was very fast. There are numerous grocery and convenience stores close by. It was the most relaxing vacation we've had in several years! We will definitely seek out this property, if we stay in the Galveston area again.
