We had 4 young child who easily walked to Main Street for all the activities multiple times a day. Great location, nicely stocked with all necessities. Property owner was accessible and prompt to respond. Will stay again!

The house was very clean, lots of thermostats, comfortable beds and pillows. Lots of personal touches throughout the home. Books, cards, toiletries in the bathroom, phone chargers, coffee , tea and donuts for breakfast. We would definitely stay again.

We were a group of four friends, all women, staying in Lake Placid for skating camp. The house was was clean, amenities stocked in kitchen, location was walking distance to Olympic Center, Main Street, and the lake. Patricia was very responsive and welcoming. Would definitely recommend! Do consider that there is one bathroom (a nice full one at that) when booking with a group.

My husband and I visited Lake Placid over the Fourth of July weekend, along with our two grown sons (20s) and our 17-year-old daughter. There was plenty of room for all of us, and the house is very clean and well-maintained. We loved hanging on the front porch and there is also a nice fenced-in backyard area. The kids walked into "town" (about a 15-minute walk, uphill on the way, downhill back) which worked out really well. As our children get older, we know that vacations for the five of us are drawing to a close. Our stay at the Red Door Cottage will be remembered.

Amazing hosts from beginning to end! The house is not missing anything at all. Close proximity to Whiteface and any and all other needs are either within walking distance or very short drive. We had such a great time and looking forward to going back again. Thank you!!

This was a clean beautiful little home. Very comfortable and homey. Very much enjoyed our stay here. It was perfect for a girls getaway.

The house is in a good location and well kept by the owners. We enjoyed our stay for a summer weekend.

This worked well for our family of five for a three day visit. It is a short walk to downtown shops and restaurants The property manager checked in with us from time to time to see if we needed anything. If we visit Lake Placid again we will definitely plan to come to this property.

The place was nice, clean, pleasant and convenient. We weren't around much and didn't cook much. Pro's: Close to town, clean, had literally everything we needed even if we didn't think that we needed it. Pat is a great host. Con's: The only one we can think of is that it would have been nice to have a second (at least) half-bath to use when others are showering. Probably not an issue for a family, but it was definitely an issue with a group of friends. Other than that it suited other perfectly. 5 Stars!

This is an amazing house! We felt at home from the very start. It is lovingly outfitted with a great attention to detail - from the starter kit of toiletries in the bathroom to the golf tees. In retrospective, we could have traveled significantly lighter. The kitchen is equipped better than any other place I’ve ever seen. There are even little Tupperware boxes and an insulated bag for grocery shopping. We had a really great time there and would love to return!

Every aspect of our experience was excellent. Booking, the incredible responsiveness of the owners to every question we had and the warm homey feel of the property. Everything we could have wanted or need was provided from kitchen utensils to games and toiletries. We had a truly great week.

This was a wonderful place to stay. The kitchen is very well equipped and I was able to make a couple of fabulous meals. Pat was incredibly helpful. It is just a quick walk into town. Overall it was very comfortable and fantastic

Red Door was the perfect place to rest and rejuvenate between ski and hiking days.

The Red Door is a very comfortable, immaculate, well stocked home in a good location with easy accessibility to all Lake Placid has to offer. The beds are very comfortable. The one bathroom is well appointed & sparking clean. The LP Ambulance/ Fire Station is right next door & under construction. The manager, Pat, is very friendly, accommodating, hospitable & accessible. We enjoyed our stay & recommend The Red Door highly.

My husband and I had a wedding in Lake Placid so I was searching for a house I could fit myself, my husband, our 4 boys (7, 4, 2, and 7 months) plus my in-laws… I booked the Red Door Cottage about nine months ago and the communication was so easy! Pat is very quick to get back to you and any question you may have, she has an answer! The house was clean and sparkling, there was starter items for us like toothbrushes and toothpaste, dish soap and a sponge, towels and linens on the beds. She even had an adorable baby blanket set up in the pack and play already for my little one and that the railings were on bunk beds for my big boys!!! There is a playground about three minutes away that the boys enjoyed as well as a body of water where they could throw rocks in! There are a few restaurants within walking distance that are absolutely wonderful! And main street of Lake Placid is probably about 15 minute walk away, however we did not do that with our four boys! I cannot say enough good things about this house and we look forward to coming back for another stay! We would highly, highly recommend Pat’s place!

We had a very nice time in Lake Placid. The Red Door Cottage was perfect for my family. Everyone had their own rooms and being able to cook breakfast before heading out for the day was great. I really appreciated the extra things like the backpacks, bug spray and beach towels that were there! When we come back, I would not hesitate to stay at the Red Door Cottage again!

We stayed at the Red Door Cottage for Ironman Lake Placid. It was very convenient as everything was within walking distance. Pat was very nice and ensured we had everything we needed, plus gave us local upcoming event suggestions (and a couple souvenirs - thanks for the cups!!!). The house was very clean and well stocked with everything you could need. We loved our stay and would definitely stay here again.

We really enjoy our stay. The owners prepared the house to the last details. Bottles of water, toiletries, cookies.... The house is located in the center of Lake Placid and has a great backyard with a nice grill. The only minus is one bathroom. There was only four of us, so wasn’t a problem, but with a bigger group could be an issue.

Great location, lodging and people

The Red Door Cottage is very comfortable and we enjoyed our 4 nights in the house. Pat is a highly responsive and helpful host. She was happy to assist with some special requests to surprise my wife and happily supplied winter sports equipment like sleds and snow shoes. The kitchen is well equipped. I cooked dinner for our group of 6 people two nights and found all the cookware and utensils I needed. This is rare in vacation homes - knives that actually cut and pots that cake actually be used for cooking. We were very happy for with the cottage and will definitely stay there again on our next trip to Lake Placid.

Nothing but praise. The house is nice and simple, very clean and perfectly located for a short walk up the hill to all the fun on Main Street. All the essentials you may forget were there. Best of all: your hosts. Incredibly responsive to any questions raised and very welcoming. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay as a result.
