My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. This is the first time we've stayed in Marathon as we typically spend a couple of weeks in Key West but we broke up our two weeks and enjoyed both places. While not the hustle and bustle of Key West we enjoyed the atmosphere of the area and the views from the roof top were the best! If you're planning on time in Marathon, this is where you want to be!

Great place to stay in Marathon!

We booked Yellow Tail last minute. The owner was very responsive and informative during the booking process. The location was perfect for a relaxed family vacation. We preferred the laid back vibe in Marathon vs the busy/touristy Key West area. We relaxed, fished, and cooked in nearly every night. Veteran's Beach and Bahia Honda were our family's favorite close beaches. All the bedrooms were large enough for our family of five (three teenagers). Having three full baths was very helpful. If you run out of any supplies, just contact the owner. We grilled and used the kitchen for family dinners. I would suggest Sparky's Landing for a dinner out. Food, service and location were great. Very close. Fishing off the pier was so fun! We saw lobsters, parrot fish, snappers and, of course, yellow tail. Yellow Tail Villa was definitely a villa we will return to.

We had an awesome time. The couch bed is not really a bed. Trying to dock anything bigger than a 28 foot boat is not recommended with the tide changes. Entry is way to small. This could have been a disaster for someone that did not have years of experience. Marathon KAREN lives next door and she's waiting for someone to bump her dock post (with camera)

Anything you are needing most likely it’s there. It was nice to have the pool so close. This was our first time in the keys so we learned a lot for the next time, the biggest is , you really need a boat to get the full experience. So it’s nice to know that when we come back there is a dock for us to use. The easy communication was great!

This truly was the most relaxing and fun vacation! The Yellowtail sits beautifully at the edge of the water and has great views. There was plenty of room for everyone, and my little one loved the elevator! Lol Matt is fantastic and so easy to get ahold of! Every detail was amazing from check-in the check-out (didn’t want to leave :) I have recommended this place to everyone I know.!

Our vacation was spectacular! This property is amazing! I booked this property when I saw that it had an elevator. My husband and I used it all the time. It had pretty views from every balcony and the rooftop! We were 3 couples, had plenty of alone space and together space! Our host, Matt, was wonderful to work with! The property was great. We had 3 couples stay in this awesome villa. The size was perfect for our family. The rooftop was relaxing, great for unwinding. The tiki bar was perfect for hanging out and grilling. The hot tub is on point if you want to get crunk up. The dock area is another place to get away for some alone time or fishing. At the dock we saw several small sheephead, parot fish, blue stripe grunts and a 3’ nurse shark. We spent most of our time outside but the inside was decorated very nicely. And the kitchen was well stocked with everything you would need to cook and grill with. There were three tanks for the grill and all were full. We all enjoyed the house but the location was the best. We rented a boat and kept it at the dock that comes with the villa. So in the evening we idled out 600-700 yards to watch a great sunset. The 7 mile bridge (for fishing) was about 15-20 minutes boat ride away depending on wind and chop. The sandbar was 15 minutes away and sombrero reef was about 40 minutes away depending on speed, wind and chop. And they were all great. Sunset grill was about a 7 minute car ride away and marathon bagel co. was two minutes and a bait shop was literally walking distance away. The owner (Matt) was cool , he gave great tips for food and fun but the best tip was for fishing; if you catch something at the bridge reel fast before the shark gets your fish. If you plan on bringing your own boat the dock has whips to keep your boat off the dock and the dock has bumpers so your boat won’t get damaged if you tie it up to the dock. Check in and check out was easy an the elevator was so nice to have. Oh and the balcony in the master suit was another place we enjoyed. I would highly recommend this place !!!

The villa was wonderful. We felt like we were at home only very relaxing!! Matt was a wonderful host. The complex was quiet and we loved relaxing at the pool. Marathon was a great area. Lots to do, great restaurants. We would highly recommend Yellowtail Villa and Matt!!!

The Yellowtail was a perfect vacation get away for my family. It had everything we needed to enjoy the keys and relax comfortably after our days of adventure. All the amenities were there, beautiful roof deck with great sunset views, stocked with things needed for beach days, comfortable furtniture, terrific kitchen. It was all that!

The options are great including top floor deck, heated community pool, dock space that we used to put kayaks out of. Good central location in Marathon that let us bike many places too. What more can I add that hasn't already been said by other reviewers! This house was perfect for our family of five. The house was spotless and very comfy. The view of the Gulf to die for! Short drive to Sombrero Beach and Curry Hammock State Park and the many restaurants in Marathon. Easy check-in and above all Matt the owner was very attentive and always available to answer questions or address any concerns. I would highly recommend and we can't wait to go back!

Best rental we've done. House was all we expected and more. Kitchen had high end pans and dishes, etc... We cooked several meals there. Owner was fantastic to work with. We truly did not want to leave. Location was great for all we wanted to do. My family loved it and will have fantastic memories of our stay. Many thanks to people that rent their homes. This was our first-time vacationing in Marathon. Yellowtail Villa was one of the most magical places we have ever stayed. It had a great homey vibe and atmosphere and included everything you could possibly want or need, including an elevator! The location was perfect for visiting Miami, Key West (or any of the other keys). The owner, Matt, was great to work with and very quick to answer any questions we had. We would love to come back and visit some day and would not hesitate to book this location again!

We just got home from an amazing stay at the Yellowtail Villa in Marathon! We took my mother-in-law, our oldest son and daughter-in-law, and two youngest. The pictures do not do justice to the beauty of this property and the surrounding area. The house is beautiful with plenty of room. The rooms are spacious and the living and dining were perfect to eat, hang out, and play games. We are our last meal on the rooftop; wonderful. Matt is probably the best property owner we have rented from and took care of all questions with immediate responses. The other families staying in the villas were great neighbors and it made for a great experience sharing the pool, dock, and common areas hearing about fishing stories and things to do. The snorkeling and boating is on point in the dock area and shallow water. We had a bit of trouble learning the current but went to snorkel at the little island you see from shore. We followed a giant sea turtle in our kayak and saw nurse sharks and snorkeled with so many different types of fish. We caught and released fish and different kinds of giant crabs, little crabs, and conch. We didn’t know that you couldn’t keep the shell if it was inside so we released it. There were parrot fish and all kinds of other fish to look at. We night fished and saw the coolest octopus, little fish, and a two foot eel swam right by my foot. Nurse sharks frequent the shallows just walking distance over. We watched dolphins, schools of fish, our oldest saw a manatee off of the bridge, our daughter in law saw a crocodile while running by Key Colony. We walked over the bridge to the aquarium and it is a must see. It’s all outside with plenty of encounters. We feed stingrays and the nurse sharks and even snorkeled in the aquarium and feed the fish and sharks in the next tank. You can go out on their pier and see nurse sharks and all kinds of fish. My husband and our sons went fishing in Islamorada with Skins and Fins Charters in the glades and flats and caught everything from bull sharks, trout, catfish, snook, snapper, Jacks, and barracuda. That day we kayaked the mangroves at Robbies and saw moon-jellies, stingrays, lots of crabs, variety of fish, and scared a crocodile into the water. We went on a jet ski tour with skirentalflorida, and they customize the tour to your liking. We tried all kinds of key lime desserts, but our favorite was the deep fried key lime pie from Burdine’s. Yellowtail is definitely a must stay!!!

Quiet, clean neighborhood, enjoyed sunsets on the roof top, bbq and sitting in sauna for a little relaxation. Matt was great, keeps you well posted and easy available to ask questions once on property.

This trip was one for the books! The house was fantastic! The location was perfect for us, being so close to the water and we loved hanging out both on the rooftop patio and in the hot tub. Everything was very clean, the fisherman’s closet was full of everything we needed to hang outdoors and there were several extra amenities such as paper plates, spices, sunscreens, laundry detergent etc. Matt was absolutely wonderful to work with, staying in contact with me long before the trip and giving lots of tips on where to go and what to do. I would highly recommend this property!

The property was everything we hoped it would be and more. Place is in a great location, so very easy to get to everything in Marathon. It also has everything that you could ask for on a tropical vacation. We spent two full days just hanging around the house and the pool. Very relaxing. Looking forward to staying again.
