This house was perfect for our family vacation. We swam right off the doc and was able to see countless tropical fish, a manatee, dolphins, a stingray, and so much more. It was like swimming in a fishbowl! The house is very unique and has a comfortable feel we would definitely stay again. Only problem we had was master bathroom toilet did not flush well at all and really couldn't be used much.

This rental was fabulous. The sunrises and sunsets on the roof top are spectacular! It is in a great location. Two restaurants within walking distance. The pool is a little on the smaller side but we enjoyed it everyday we were there. There is nothing bad about this place. I almost hate to give a great review because then the secret of this gem of a place is out there. Definitely want to come back here again. Thanks Matt, you are a great host!

What an amazing place. Everything was so clean! We arrived later than planned and the owner left lights on for us in the parking area. Had an elevator to assist with all our stuff. The two balconies are perfect for having dinner and drinks on. If that’s not enough, the rooftop access is the deal closer! Loved everything about the place. Perfect location, almost dead center of the keys, so you’re the same distance from Key West as Key Largo. We’ll definitely be back!

Yellowtail Villa was a wonderful home for our vacation. The owner was extremely kind and responded promptly to any questions I posed. The house had everything we needed to make our stay in the Keys very enjoyable. The private community was quiet and we felt very comfortable the entirety of our stay. This home is perfect for a family or group of friends.

We are a family of 5, with three teen girls. We had an amazing week sunning ourselves by the dock and on the spacious roof deck. The house was quiet and comfortable with ample space for gatherings on the kitchen level and bedrooms on different levels to keep the kids from fighting over bathrooms etc. the carport space with hot tub was a hit and put to use most days, as were the supplies from the fisherman’s closet, which allowed for casting from the dock. The selection of poles was extensive enough to allow an adult and an 11 year old to have appropriately sized rods. The gas grill was in beautiful condition with a full complement of grill utensils. Similarly the kitchen was very well appointed with clear labels for where to find and store supplies. Steve’s crab claws were a highlight. There were essentially no negative issues other than a broken sliding door handle and missing umbrella, which were replaced early in the week in a remarkably professional and timely manner. Would highly recommend and will likely try to return next year!

We LOVED our time at Yellowtail Villa...it was the perfect base to explore the FL Keys and Matt was an exceptional host! We had plenty of space for our family of 6, comfortable beds and everything we could have needed. The recommendations provided by Matt were all great! We rented a boat and loved having one to explore...Matt made arrangements for us to use the neighbors dock space since they didn't have one this particular week. The current in/out of the dockage due to the proximity of Vaca Cut can be dicey getting in and out, but experienced boaters will be just fine! Our family truly enjoyed our stay and are thankful for all of the extra help that Matt provided prior to and during our stay to make it seamless for us!

We enjoyed our stay at the Yellowtail Villa. The villa is well laid out with 3 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms. There were six of us, so it was really nice that each bedroom had its own bathroom. While at the villa, we especially enjoyed the pool, the tiki bar and fishing off the dock. We also went to Key West a couple of times, as it's just over an hour away. Sombrero beach is only a few minutes away and a must. Matt, the host, was super responsive and very helpful with recommendations and local connections.

We had the best week at Yellow Tail. The villa is spacious, more so than I expected. The balconies were so nice to hang out in the evenings, especially the rooftop. Great place to watch fireworks. My kids caught all kinds of different fish from the dock. Pool area was nice. Met several different nice families. We rented a boat and hopper from key to key. Excellent vacation and Matt kept in touch with us to make sure our stay was going well. Definitely will be going back.

Matt's villa was exactly as described and pictures were accurate. The beds were all extremely comfortable. Well stocked kitchen, lots of linens, towels, extra pillows etc. The elevator made life so convenient with older guests and lots of groceries! Matt was always a text or call away. We were a big group from 18 years old to 80 and everyone enjoyed something. Fishing and sunrises right out back on the dock was a huge hit. The pool was never overcrowded. Lots of restaurants and stores in close proximity. The most amazing sunsets. 33rd street boat dock was so amazing to watch the sunsets from. This trip was a final wish for me to see a sunrise and a sunset on the same day. Bittersweet final vacation but I know my family, my wife and my children will return to this villa in the near future to celebrate my life. We made memories in a beautiful setting that I pray lasts them a lifetime. You will not be disappointed when you rent the YellowTail villa in Marathon. An easy 45 minutr drive to Key West. So many ammenities come with this house...hot tub, tiki bar, rooftop deck and hammock chairs! Thanks for a wonderful vacation! Tom & Christina

Great week at the Yellowtail! The property was found as advertised and the dock was a great benefit to our trip.

My wife and I spent 3 weeks at Yellow Tail. Matt the host is easy to work with and very communicative. Great location with spectacular views. Well furnished with everything you will need. We liked it so much we have booked 3 weeks next year.

Just wanted to say how wonderful our stay was this past week. The property is 5-star and the view of the gulf that greeted us over our balcony cup of coffee each morning created the perfect backdrop to start each amazing day. Bookend that with the evening s'more, relaxing conversation and laughter over an adult beverage at the rooftop firetable under a canopy of stars and, well, now you know! This is our second stay in the Keys and both times we chose Marathon as our home base. This location makes it SO easy for day trips as well as short jaunts to any number of Keys in either direction. Just steps away from the pool, along with our own private hot tub and tiki bar -- so many amenities even if we chose to just stay put for the day. Sombrero Beach is lovely too, and just a few minutes down the road. All the necessities (chairs, umbrella, mats, cooler) for a great beach-day were also provided for us. The beds were super comfy, showers nice and hot. Plenty of room and privacy for the ourselves and the 2 couples we traveled with. Matt was awesome, always available and provided many helpful tips. Above and beyond! We highly recommend this home and look forward to returning!!

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. This is the first time we've stayed in Marathon as we typically spend a couple of weeks in Key West but we broke up our two weeks and enjoyed both places. While not the hustle and bustle of Key West we enjoyed the atmosphere of the area and the views from the roof top were the best! If you're planning on time in Marathon, this is where you want to be!

Great place to stay in Marathon!

We booked Yellow Tail last minute. The owner was very responsive and informative during the booking process. The location was perfect for a relaxed family vacation. We preferred the laid back vibe in Marathon vs the busy/touristy Key West area. We relaxed, fished, and cooked in nearly every night. Veteran's Beach and Bahia Honda were our family's favorite close beaches. All the bedrooms were large enough for our family of five (three teenagers). Having three full baths was very helpful. If you run out of any supplies, just contact the owner. We grilled and used the kitchen for family dinners. I would suggest Sparky's Landing for a dinner out. Food, service and location were great. Very close. Fishing off the pier was so fun! We saw lobsters, parrot fish, snappers and, of course, yellow tail. Yellow Tail Villa was definitely a villa we will return to.

We had an awesome time. The couch bed is not really a bed. Trying to dock anything bigger than a 28 foot boat is not recommended with the tide changes. Entry is way to small. This could have been a disaster for someone that did not have years of experience. Marathon KAREN lives next door and she's waiting for someone to bump her dock post (with camera)

We had a great experience staying here. Very clean and organized property. So much was provided that you usually don’t get when renting a property. It truly was a stocked kitchen. Anything you are needing most likely it’s there. It was nice to have the pool so close. This was our first time in the keys so we learned a lot for the next time, the biggest is , you really need a boat to get the full experience. So it’s nice to know that when we come back there is a dock for us to use. The easy communication was great!

This truly was the most relaxing and fun vacation! The Yellowtail sits beautifully at the edge of the water and has great views. There was plenty of room for everyone, and my little one loved the elevator! Lol Matt is fantastic and so easy to get ahold of! Every detail was amazing from check-in the check-out (didn’t want to leave :) I have recommended this place to everyone I know.!

Our vacation was spectacular! This property is amazing! I booked this property when I saw that it had an elevator. My husband and I used it all the time. It had pretty views from every balcony and the rooftop! We were 3 couples, had plenty of alone space and together space! Our host, Matt, was wonderful to work with! We will definitely keep this property in mind in the future!

The property was great. We had 3 couples stay in this awesome villa. The size was perfect for our family. The rooftop was relaxing, great for unwinding. The tiki bar was perfect for hanging out and grilling. The hot tub is on point if you want to get crunk up. The dock area is another place to get away for some alone time or fishing. At the dock we saw several small sheephead, parot fish, blue stripe grunts and a 3’ nurse shark. We spent most of our time outside but the inside was decorated very nicely. And the kitchen was well stocked with everything you would need to cook and grill with. There were three tanks for the grill and all were full. We all enjoyed the house but the location was the best. We rented a boat and kept it at the dock that comes with the villa. So in the evening we idled out 600-700 yards to watch a great sunset. The 7 mile bridge (for fishing) was about 15-20 minutes boat ride away depending on wind and chop. The sandbar was 15 minutes away and sombrero reef was about 40 minutes away depending on speed, wind and chop. And they were all great. Sunset grill was about a 7 minute car ride away and marathon bagel co. was two minutes and a bait shop was literally walking distance away. The owner (Matt) was cool , he gave great tips for food and fun but the best tip was for fishing; if you catch something at the bridge reel fast before the shark gets your fish. If you plan on bringing your own boat the dock has whips to keep your boat off the dock and the dock has bumpers so your boat won’t get damaged if you tie it up to the dock. Check in and check out was easy an the elevator was so nice to have. Oh and the balcony in the master suit was another place we enjoyed. I would highly recommend this place !!!

The villa was wonderful. We felt like we were at home only very relaxing!! Matt was a wonderful host. The complex was quiet and we loved relaxing at the pool. Marathon was a great area. Lots to do, great restaurants. We would highly recommend Yellowtail Villa and Matt!!!

The Yellowtail was a perfect vacation get away for my family. It had everything we needed to enjoy the keys and relax comfortably after our days of adventure. All the amenities were there, beautiful roof deck with great sunset views, stocked with things needed for beach days, comfortable furtniture, terrific kitchen. It was all that!

My family goes away every Christmas, and have been drawn back to the Florida keys for several years. This year the yellowtail villa was an excellent fit for us. The options are great including top floor deck, heated community pool, dock space that we used to put kayaks out of. Good central location in Marathon that let us bike many places too. Very clean inside, provides everything you need and well marked. The owner Matt was very helpful throughout our time there and is a great communicater. Highly recommend the yellowtail

What more can I add that hasn't already been said by other reviewers! This house was perfect for our family of five. The house was spotless and very comfy. The view of the Gulf to die for! Short drive to Sombrero Beach and Curry Hammock State Park and the many restaurants in Marathon. Easy check-in and above all Matt the owner was very attentive and always available to answer questions or address any concerns. I would highly recommend and we can't wait to go back!

Best rental we've done. House was all we expected and more. Kitchen had high end pans and dishes, etc... We cooked several meals there. Owner was fantastic to work with. We truly did not want to leave. Location was great for all we wanted to do. My family loved it and will have fantastic memories of our stay. Many thanks to people that rent their homes.
