This beautiful home was even bigger than in the photos. It was an easy walk to the gorgeous beach. The waves were perfect for boogie boarding. The house fit the 8 of us very comfortably. We were able to enjoy meals together at the large dining table and the living room fit all of us with room to spare. We enjoyed the shops in Freeport as well as mini golf and SplashTown FunTown. Our only complaint is that we had to leave to come home. Thanks for a wonderful week!

We loved our time in Prouts on Garrison Lane. The house has lots of rooms and great beach charm. We were traveling with two children under 2.5 and the location of the stairs made it easy to contain them downstairs, which is always a plus. The house is just a quick walk to a beautiful beach and a short drive to a lot of great restaurants in the area. We hope to return soon!

Our home away from home was charming, cozy, supplied with all that we needed, and wonderfully close to the beach! The best ice cream ever was a short distance away, and the beach was almost our very own! Each one of us wished we could have stayed longer, but have definite plans of returning!! Thank you so much for helping to make our vacation so special!!!

Green Haven is a classic Maine summer place. Very comfortable for a family of all ages and wonderfully relaxing location. Cliff Walk for sunrise is amazing! The house is well equipped for both fun at the beach and great family meals.

We had a wonderful stay at this charming home in Prouts Neck. It is super close to the beach so we could walk down day and evening. Evenings were beautiful there as the tide goes way out and we could walk the beach and search for Sea glass. The cottage itself is so charming and had everything we needed. The bathrooms are newly updated and the washer and dryer in the house is so helpful! The house is much larger than it appears by photos which was a nice surprise. There is plenty of room for family members to visit. My children loved the room with the pool table, and were able to learn to play for the first time. The neighbors were lovely, and so helpful with advice for getting around town. I was so thankful to get back to this area where I had vacationed as a child. Thank you again for sharing your home with us. We truly appreciated it!!

Our stay at prouts neck was great, every detail for a wonderful time was thought out. Mike and Chou Chou have a fantastic beach house. There was enough room for everyone, including the dog. The area is so quiet at night and the days are just what you need for a relaxing vacation. The residents of garrison lane were very friendly and helpful with any questions we had about the area. Just a great place to have a family vacation.

My husband, myself, our two grown sons and a girlfriend spent a week here in June 2011. Despite several rainy and cold days (thankful for the great propane heater in the living room!), we had a wonderful time in this clean, well-equipped, and comfortable cottage. There is no need to bring anything with you to stay here. It's all been thought out for you, right down to multiple beach towels and a washer and dryer to stay on top of the laundry that being at the beach brings with it. This is a safe and quiet neighborhood and the beach is literally just a walk down the dead-end lane. The beach itself is adjacent to Scarborough Beach, which has a lifeguard. The owner was helpful and friendly, and checked in with us during our stay. No complaints, only thanks!

Our family of eight with a baby and dogs had a wonderful week in this charming summer home. Everything we needed was provided as listed, it was clean & welcoming, and there was even a beach rose in a vase left for us on the dining room table. The ownwers answered all our questions before we came, they were great to do business with. We enjoyed nice big bedrooms with comfy beds, all made up for us to crawl into, plenty of room in the kitchen for all of us to cook, and a big table to gather around for dinner and games. Gorgeous Scarborough Beach is a short walk down the lane, and my beloved Portland is minutes away. We did take trips to some of our favorite haunts, but we had our our best times in this wonderful cottage. Sitting in the sun on the front porch or enjoying the privacy of the back patio brought us relaxation and peace and always a smile. I was born in Portland, we have stayed in many cottages in this area in the past 35 + years, and this Prout's Neck home is the best yet. We will be back again and again, I recommend this this rental to everyone.

I spent the week of July 10-17, 2010 here with my family and I was very pleased with the rental. There was plenty of room in the house and everything you could possibly need-loads of towels, washer, dryer, dishwasher, microwave, 3 TV's, internet, and two beaches within walking distance! The closer beach is quite rocky, but after the first day we learned to go at low tide when the rocks are not a problem and you can walk quite a long distance on the sand or in the water. No fee to visit this beach. The more sheltered beach on the other side of the road was wonderful for my 8 month old grandchild who loved sitting in the shallow water. There is a $10 per car charge for this beach, but the fee is reduced to $5 after 3PM and free after 5PM. The place was very clean and well-kept with a fan in each bedroom. I did a little research online and found that the actor Gary Merrill lived in this house for a while when he was married to Bette Davis! The only "minus" we encountered was a dismaying telephone call from a neighbor asking that I "tell my musician to stop playing his saxophone" because "if everyone in the neighborhood practiced their instrument we would have cacophony." My son is a successful professional trumpet player, not a high school amateur, and it was 5:00 in the afternoon when he was practicing. He used a silent brass mute or went out to the sheltered beach to practice after that and there were no more complaints. This minor incident did not spoil our good time, but renters should be aware that "noise" is frowned upon in the neighborhood. All in all, I would definitely recommend this home as a wonderful place for a family vacation-but don't go taking MY week!!!
